“Partying with Sierra”?

The line of limousines were extremely long outside the Thomas Remington mansion, as all of the art community's beautiful elite were out and about and wandering around the mansion grounds.

Sierra Connors, dressed in a tight, black, micro-skirted one piece dress; her long legs covered in dark stockings and wearing spiked black high heels, was escorted by her two government interrogators Sierra dubbed, Tall and Small, into the massive main room.

Inside, people were partying like it was 1999. The strobe lights were intense and the techno-house rock rap blasted out of ten foot high amplifiers that surrounded the room. The hyper-sound bounced off the mansion's ceilings, as the elevated dance floor was so crowded; the beautiful people dancing could only just stand still and sway with the beat.

"Wow, this is some shin dig!" Sierra commented, as she looked around.

Tall replied with an order, "Stay here. We're going to check out where Thomas Remington is. Don't get any ideas about drifting off into the crowd. We have other agents here and some have been assigned exclusively to watch you!"

"Okay, Maxwell Smart,” Sierra answered, “I'll be a good girl."

Tall and Small then disappeared into the crowd. No sooner had they left, that an older, heavy set man, in a gray pinstripe suit and greased back black dyed hair, approached Sierra. She could immediately tell two things. He was drunk and he was obnoxious.

"Hey!!" he slurred, "Has anyone ever told you that you are the most beautiful girl in the world?"

Sierra rolled her eyes and wearily smiled, "Why no, Foghorn Leghorn. However, dogs have been known to wiggle their tails and cats to purr loudly whenever I pass them by."

The inebriated man then took a hold of Sierra’s hand and kissed it.

"Darling, your hand is so soft and smells so sweet," he drunkenly said, "I'm never gonna wash my own hands again!"

"Well, thank you," Sierra said, "but I assure you, Jim Beam, I'm gonna wash my hands as soon as possible!"

Just then, Tall and Small returned. They quickly surrounded the man.

"Ambassador Maxwell! So good to see you, sir!" Small respectfully stated, "I think some interns over there wish to meet you!"

The Ambassador glanced over to see some young party girls, who were standing over by the bar.

"Well, I never turn down a chance to meet with some of my constituents, especially the young and pretty ones,” the Ambassador perversely smiled, as he turned back to address Sierra.

"I'll be right back. Don't go away, you little filly!"

Sierra cynically grinned, "Well, I’ll just wait here for you with jail-baited breath."

As the Ambassador staggered off, Tall turned back to the task at hand.

"Remington’s here. He’s in the other room. The safe he’s keeping the document in is in his private study.”

Small then reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out an envelope that he slyly handed over to Sierra.

“Here’s the floor plan,” Small stated, “we'll stand guard, as you wander back through the halls to his study. You’ll also find the type of lock that’s on the safe and a description of the cover of the document we want you to grab."

Sierra discreetly opened the envelope and glanced over the plans. The study was just past the fourth door down the side hall. The lock was a Widmore Industries 108. A complicated design but one she had dealt with before. The document, however, was somewhat of a mystery.

So far, Sierra had felt this caper was pretty straight forward, however there was one thing she had learned long ago. Once you begin to think something is easy, it can get real complicated, real fast.

I'm glad you continued writing this novel. Please KMU. I wonder if Sierra's Dad, Pebbles or Bam are going to appear also.

whenever i read another of your chapters i am reminded how much i love the main characters in your stories. They are funny and quick witted and i feel a lot like you? The tall and small references made me chuckle and the reference to Maxwell Smart put a smile on my face. I use to love watching that show! He was such an idiot! And again you show that you have good taste ;) An oldie, but a goodie! haha party like it was 1999, i knew that song would be a hit! very clever Mr "Prince" or is that Mr "sign" now lol hahahaha Foghorn, leghorn!! that's hilarious Evie!! that is one of my all time favorite cartoons!! I say, i say boy! love it!! well this was just a delight to read my friend. hilarious as per! haha i know that feeling about when something seems easy, whenever it comes up i dismiss it and believe something is going to go wrong. Most of the time it fools the universe and things go smoothly lol. A mystery document! now that sounds intriguing. Roll on the next chapter!! Dino ")
