Chapter 6: Facing the boy

I looked over at Tyler and realised he was still sleeping. All of a sudden a rock pegged him in the head and he got awoken.

"Okay Katie just because you can make rocks out of nowhere doesn't mean you can toss them at my head everytime i doze off." Even his voice was dreamy.

I giggled quietly to myself from the thought.

"Dude, two pixies just moved here and one is sitting right beside you. I think you should be awake to meet them." Katie explained and he turned to look at Emily and I.

He looked at Emily first and I could see he had snake bite piercings. His eyes were slightly slanted towards his temples and he was actually wearing all black.

After he looked over Emily he looked at me and just stared at my eyes as I stared dumbly back. His eyes were an ice blue with a white ring around the pupil.

I realised I was holding my breath and once I took in a deep breath to make up for the loss of oxygen, I could tell he smelt just like strawberries.

"Hey," he said and lifted a the left corner of his mouth into a half smile. At that point I knew I would always be happy when he did that.

"Hi," I said and blushed slightly. I quickly looked down at my hands.

"Okay then. Well there's food over there," Chelsea said pointing at a table piled with food, "and we can eat now. Everybody wanted to wait to meet you two first. So lets go eat."

Everybody stood and walked over to the table. I waited until it was a little less crowded so that I could get food.

Once I had a plate I looked over the options.

There was a bunch of fruit and vegitables, kraft dinner, burgers, tortalini, and sandwiches.

I grabbed some kraft dinner and some fruit then walked back over the my seat and sat.

I looked over at Tyler's plate and saw that he had gotten tortalini and fruit. I looked back at my plate and started eating my fruit first.

Once I was finished I looked up for some ketchup but Tyler was just handing it to me. It's like he read my mind.

"Thanks," I said shyly again. I have got to get over this shyness or I'm never going to get to know Tyler.

"No problem. You thirsty?" he asked and only then I noticed that I had completely forgotten a drink.

"Oh, uhm. Yes actually I am."

"Here let me get you something." he said, got up and left. He hadn't even asked what I wanted, but before I even thought it, he was back with a glass full of dark brown bubbling stuff.

"I got you rootbeer, I thought you'd like it." God I could just die in the sound of his voice.

"Oh, yeah. Actually it's my favorite. Thanks," I said getting over my shyness, but only a fraction.

"So what grade are you in?" I asked.

"Grade 10 you?" he answered easily. It was like we were the only two people in the room. I mean I could see people out of the corner of my eye but not as well as I saw Tyler. And I could hear the others talking but I couldn't make out enough words.

"10," that was it, that was all I could say.

"Really what's the first class your'e visiting?" he asked.

I pulled out my schedule from my bag and handed it to him.

"Okay, that's weird," he said to himself butI just had to know.

"What?" I asked with worry in my voice.

"Nothing, it's just that all your classes are the same as mine. We have all out classes together."
