Chapter 8: The Photo Shoot
(Sorry for the long wait! Anyways, this chapter is more on Kiki’s model life. I am not too familiar with the latest products etc. so please don’t think too much into the minute little details…)
BOOM BOOM BOOM…
I open my eyes. Who the heck is banging my house door? Doesn’t the freak know how to use a doorbell?
‘MARIAH, ANSWER THE DOOR!’ I scream and bury my head under my pillows.
More banging…
‘MARIAH!’ My voice is getting a little hoarse.
Still no response.
Damn! Our maid must be out with Mummy to do her Saturday grocery shopping.
Ever as slowly, I tow myself towards the door and open it…
‘Goodness gracious! How can you be STILL sleeping?! Your photo shoot is in 10 minutes and I CLEARLY told you to arrive at Sentosa at 2:30p.m for the prep works! Now it’s already 2:50p.m! I rang your mobile for lord knows how many times!’ Eddie is giving me his morning greetings. Am I still in dreamland? Lucky my mobile is in silent mode. My eyelids are coming down…
‘KIKI! Are you even listening?! WAKE UP!! We have only 10 minutes to get you there and I’ve even brought the makeup artist over.’ Oh… So that lady next to Ed is a makeup artist? Wait! Is that a guy or a woman? Oh whatever… I don’t care.
‘Shut up Ed! What’s done is done. We’ve still got 10 minutes.’ I make my way to the bathroom to freshen up. Once I’ve finish with my sunrise routine and change into a nice dress, Ed whisks me out of my home.
‘We’ve packed your bag for you already and we’ll do your makeup along the way.’ Eddie passes me my mini top handle classic Gucci bag. Though I’d always enjoy picking a fight with Eddie as his animated expressions amuse me, I trust him enough to pack my stuff for me. I even allow him to shove me into the rear seat in his black BMW currently.
The makeup artist makes him or herself comfortable next to me and begins working on my makeup. To be able to perform this in a moving vehicle, I really admire this person’s skills.
Oh man, I’m beginning to get a headache. Thanks to Eddie for waking me up that way. Why am I feeling so tired? What happen last night?
‘SHARKS!’ I totally forgot about grandma.
‘Can you not scream and move about while I am putting on your makeup?’ The voice sounds like a male?
‘Sorry. Didn’t mean to. Give me a sec.’ I rummage through my bag. Where’s my stupid mobile?
‘Ed, where in the bloody world is my mobile?’ I am glaring at my beloved manager so hard I think my eyeballs are about to pop out.
‘Sorry my dear. I think I might have missed that when packing your belongings. Well… I might have noticed if I had more time.’ He’s smirking at me!
‘FINE! Your mobile is mine for today. Pass it to me NOW.’
‘Ms Kiki, what makes you think I can dig into my pockets while driving? I’ll lend you once we’ve reached.’ As much as I hate to admit, Eddie does make a point.
‘Step harder on the accelerator then.’ I slump back into the leather seat.
‘Alright. Anyway, I need to fill you in with the details of the shoot. Wrapped with Love fragrance is the product. Advertisers are thinking along the lines of sweet first kiss, comforting embrace and so on. You’d probably know what I mean. To put it simply, you need to kiss another model against the background of a setting sun along Siloso beach. The bottom line is an innocent first kiss.’
‘Oh… Whatever…’ What’s so hard about faking a first kiss anyway? It’s not the first time I kiss on the set.
‘Done! I’ve finished her makeup.’
‘Great! Just on time.’ Eddie responds to the makeup artist as he swerves the car into a parking lot.
‘Hand me your mobile!’ I stretch my hand out at Ed after climbing out of his BMW.
Eddie fishes out his mobile. ‘Holy Crap! The battery’s gone flat. Must have been the many calls I gave you this morning.’
ARGHHH!!! Can I be more unlucky?!
‘Kiki… Quite glaring. We’ve got no time to lose. I’ve hung up your white halter dress in the changing stall. Can you change into it without destroying your makeup?’ Eddie is trying to take control of the situation as usual.
‘Ed, you don’t understand. I need to make this call. It’s VERY urgent! Oh God! This is killing me! I want to know if grandma is ok.’ Tears are stinging my eyes.
‘I’ll be sure you get to that once your shoot is over. Don’t worry. I’m sure she’s fine. C’mon now. You don’t want to wreck your makeup.’ Eddie wraps his arm round my shoulders. He can be real comforting and sweet at times.
‘Kay. Thanks Ed. And I’m… umm… sorry for being late.’ I whisper.
With that, I hurry over to the temporary changing stall. It must be Ed’s idea for a temporary changing stall to be set up for my personal use. He knows my preferences rather well.
As I’m changing with great care to keep my makeup undisturbed, I hear someone arguing with Ed outside my stall.
‘Is she ready yet? It’s been FIVE minutes past 3p.m. Troy’s been waiting for FIVE WHOLE MINUTES!’ So what? No biggie…
‘It’s ONLY FIVE minutes! Calm down for goodness sake.’ Way to go Ed!
‘You can call it ONLY FIVE minutes for some other model. We’re talking about TROY! He’s got another commercial filming later at 4!’ What’s this guy’s problem? Five minutes is still JUST five minutes. So what if Troy waits?
WAIT! Troy???!!! He’s THE ONE I’m supposed to KISS??!!

Hi well you doing quite well, and try and go into detail about the kiss and describe what they both feel at the time(getting his POV on it as well will be great) and take it from there,
