Ch. 7

“Order up!” David shouted from behind the counter of the pizzeria. The day was beginning off slow which David thought was good seeing that he didn’t get but two hours of sleep. He had taken his shower and gotten dressed sluggishly and walked into work with sleepless eyes. Today it was only him, his boss, and a new employee named Chris.

A tall chubby man walked up to the counter and breathed heavily as he handed David the money. “Thanks for choosing Carl’s Specialty Pizza.” David said with a weak smile. The man nodded once and lumbered out of the building slowly. David sighed and closed his eyes. He fell back onto the wall behind him and breathed in deeply. He opened his eyes slightly and saw a blurry figure standing at the cash register quietly. He quickly jumped up and wiped his eyes. As his vision cleared he noticed that it was a small Asian woman with beautiful jade eyes that pulled him in instantly.

“Can…can I help you?” David asked nervously. The woman smiled seductively and looked deep into David’s eyes. She was wearing a very kinky outfit that looked as if it was all made out of nothing but leather. She had a small leather jacket over a black tube top. Her skirt was skimpy and came way above her knee caps. Her shoes, of all things, were black combat boots. She was also wearing black leather gloves to accessorize the entire outfit. Her black hair was pulled back into a tight pony tail.

“Sleepless night?” She asked curiously. David hesitated before answering.

“Yeah…you can say that.”

“Must have been rough…” She said seductively. “It boggles me that you would come into work at all today.”

“Gotta make the money somehow.” David said with a quick smile. “Is there…are you looking for someone?” The woman looked around curiously with a frown and shook her head.

“As far as I can see you’re the only one here.” She said with a devious smile. David didn’t feel comfortable around this woman. Something about the way she talked, moved, and over all looked didn’t seem like she was a very nice person to meet in a dark alley.

“Well my, um, boss is here.” David said with a shaky voice. He was trying to keep calm but he couldn’t. Besides the fact that she was a very pretty woman, she looked as if she wanted to kill him.

“Oh really?” She said with interest. “Some boss…making you come into work while you’re still tired.”

David smiled a bit at the weird sympathy.

“So…are you gonna order something?” He asked. The woman smiled brightly at David, showing off her bright sharp teeth. David caught his breath as he noticed them and swallowed the scream coming through his throat.

“Sure.” She said. “I’ll take slice of your best cheese pizza please.” David began to shake nervously.

“For…for here or to go?” He asked.

“To go please.” She said as she leaned over onto the counter. “I’m kind of in a hurry.”

“Oh…I understand.” David said quickly as he typed in the order on the cash machine and rushed to the back.

“Oh and David?” The woman called as he made it to the door. David froze with fear and slightly turned his head over his shoulder. “Could you be a dear and put on some extra pizza sauce for me? I just love the color of red it creates when it runs off the cheese.”

“How….how do you….know my name?” David asked silently. The woman chuckled softly.

“It’s on your nametag, honey.” She said with another bright smile. David looked down at his shirt and noticed the name tag pinned awkwardly above his chest. “My my, you must have had a really long night.”

David didn’t reply. He rushed into the back where he saw Chris rolling out some fresh dough. He looked up and noticed David but didn’t say a word to him.

“Chris I need you to prepare a slice of cheese pizza with extra sauce.” David said quickly as he ran to the back where the employee bathroom was located.

“What?” Chris asked confused.

“Just bring out a slice of cheese pizza!” David yelled as he barged into the bathroom and knelt over the toilet. He began dry heaving and choking constantly. Tears were streaming down his face as he desperately held on to the toilet rim for support. Once the dry heaving ceased he wobbled up to his feet and went over to the small sink and mirror. He ran some cold water and splashed it on his face. He looked in the mirror and saw his scared reflection staring back at him. “This is just too weird.” He said to himself. He wiped his face off the best he could and walked out of the bathroom to see Chris putting the finishing touches on the order David had given him.

“That was fast.” David said as he stared at Chris curiously. Chris was an interesting new employee. Today was the only day that David had worked with him but he could tell that Chris was the type of person that kept to himself. He was medium build with bleach white hair that he kept styled in a weird way. His eyes were crystal blue and his skin was extremely pale. He never smiled or frowned. His face was stationary. He had a very pretty face for a nineteen year old. David thought that it was the reason why Carl hired him. He could bring in a lot of the teenage girls for business.

Chris glanced over at David nonchalantly and continued with the pizza he was originally making. David frowned and took the slice of pizza from the table and headed to face the woman once again. He opened and the first thing he saw was her jade eyes staring at him hungrily.

“Mmm….that smells delicious.” She said with a low moan. “I can’t wait to have the first bite.”

“You obviously haven’t eaten from here before, have you?” David mumbled. The woman laughed hysterically and placed a freezing cold hand on David’s as she went for the slice of pizza.

“You’re funny, David.” She said with another bright smile. “I might have to come back just for the service.”

David gave another small smile as the woman walked over to the exit. She glanced over her shoulder once more and winked at David. “See you around.”  David looked away and tried to think of something else. The first thing that came to his mind was Brittany. As it turned out, Brittany was the next customer to walk into the pizzeria.
