Chapter 21

We stood there awkwardly for a minute then I remembered why I was there. "Can I come in?"

"I don't know if that would be a good idea..." Beylie said, taking a step back.

"Come on Beylie. You have no reason to fear me."

She still didn't look convinced. "Why are you even speaking to me? I thought you would hate me for kicking you out."

"I did at first but I just got sick of hating you and I want my best friend back. Look, can we talk about this inside please? There are people out here."

Beylie thought about it for a minute then stepped aside for me to go in. I did and sat on my old bed.

"Alec told me about the day he saw you in the guys dorm. Did you really move in with Ryker?"

I nodded. "I didn't have anywhere else to go so when he offered, I took it."

We sat in an awkward silence for a minute. We hadn't spoken in forever but it seemed like we were just perfect strangers who didn't know what to say to one another. Finally Beylie broke the silence.

"I heard about Misty. And Jayk. I'm really sorry."

"Thanks. It's actually just Misty. Jayk's fine."

Beylie got a confused look on her face. "But I heard he died too and that's why Misty killed herself."

"He did die but he came back after Misty was already gone..." I stumled over my words a bit. "It's kind of complicated."

"Sounds like it." Beylie gave me a small smile. "So, um, what did you want to talk about anyway?"

Oh crap, I'd almost forgotten the whole reason I'd come here. "I wanted to tell you something I think you might be interested in knowing. So you know the name of this school is Laurren Marie Faery and Faey School, right?"

"Yeah... It's named after some dead chick or something."

Oh if only everyone knew how wrong that statement was. How did Laurren not get offended by that? "Well, not exactly. It was actually named by two people, one of which is dead and the other of which is still very much alive."

All I got in response to that was a very confused look.

"Laurren is a male and Marie is his decesed wife. And they're both Dark Siders. Well, Marie was anyway."

"W-What? You mean... this school was named after two Dark Siders?"

"Laurren founded it too."

"Oh my God..."

We sat in silence as Beylie turned that over in her head. I let her think it through, it really was a lot to take in, especially for someone who had believed the lies for so long.

"So... I'm basically living at a Dark Sider school."

I snorted. "Hardly. You've seen how we get treated. You goodie goodies took over this place and the Dark Siders have been pushed aside."

"What does it take to become a Dark Sider?"

I glanced at Beylie cautiously because when I had asked that question, I had been changed. "Why?"

"I'm curious."

She wrinkled her nose. "Ew."

I grinned. "Don't worry, no one will change you. I'm the only one Ryker has sex with anymore, Jayk is too devestated to even speak and the twins... well I actually make no promises on them."

We started laughing and once we got started, we couldn't stop. It was like we were best friends again and it felt so nice to have Beylie back. After losing Misty, I wasn't real sure what I was going to do. Annabelle hated me and I couldn't exactly gossip about boys (or in my case one boy in particular) with boys.

Beylie and I talk for a little while longer before the sun started to set and I had to leave. By the time I left, I felt pretty confident in the fact that I had a solid friendship with Beylie again. Now to just regain the trust of my other friends, which wouldn't exactly be a hard thing to do.

The next night at dinner I got my food then headed back to my table. I felt Rykers eyes on my back as I walked past the Dark Sider table. Then I felt everyone else turn their eyes toward me as I went to the table in the middle of the dining hall. I stopped by the empty chair and looked at everyone there.

"Mind if I sit?"

Beylie looked up at me with a smile and started to say something but Sommer jumped to her feet and hugged me. "Oh Min I've missed you so much! I thought I was going to have to go over to that Dark Sider table one of these days and drag your ass back over here!"

I laughed and hugged her back. In all honesty, I wished she had done that sooner. I missed these guys more than I realized.

"It's good to have you back Min." Alec said.

"It's good to be back. Hey, Sommer, I love ya hon, but I'd like to sit."

"Oh sorry." She grinned and released me then we took our seats. It had been so long since I'd sat in this spot with my good friends surrounding me. I loved the Dark Siders, but I missed the normal people too. I glanced over at the table and saw it was basically just the guys. Misty was gone and Lord only knew where Annabelle was anymore. With me sitting over here, the table was a testosterone pool.

It didn't seem like there was much talking going on either. Jayk just sat there staring down at his plate, pushing his food around with his fork. The twins kind of talk to each other but it wasn't their normal dorkiness. And Ryker... Ryker looked more like an outcast than ever.

"Hey Beylie, Nix, Sommer. Do you guys want to meet some Dark Siders?"

They looked between each other, unsure until Nix spoke up. "I would love to." She stood and put her hands on her hips. Sommer and Beylie looked at each other and shrugged then stood as well. I smiled and led them over to the testosterone pool.

"Hey guys." I sat down in my spot by Ryker and took his hand. "I don't know if you've met my friends Beylie, Nix and Somer."

"I don't believe we have." Erik said, winking at Nix. She giggled in response.

Matt grinned and looked at Sommer. "I'm not sure why though. They're rather beautiful if I do say so myself."

Sommer turned about fifty shades of read then went over to him and sat on the arm of his chair. "Well you're pretty dashing yourself."

I smiled and looked at Jayk who still sat there pushing his food around with his fork. "Jayk?" I reached over and placed my hand on his.

"He jumped and looked at me. "Oh hi Min." He glanced at the girls. "Mins friends." he looked back down at his food but this time just stared at it without touching it. Beylie got a sad look on her face and sat on the arm of Jayks chair.

"I'm sorry about Misty, Jayk."

"Hey come on. Turn that frown upside down." She pushed the corners of his lips up with her thumb and forefinger. At first Jayk cringed away but not two seconds later he was actually smiling. The first smile I'd seen from him in a while.

Ryker wrapped his arm around my waist and kissed my head. "Thank you Min." He whispered in my ear.

I smiled. "Anything to get a smile back on your guys's faces."

A/N: Hey I'm back!! :D And I'm writing! :DDD haha thanks everyone for being so patient with me lately. Things have been rough but I'm slowly getting through them. 4 days left of school!!!!

Also go listen to The Reason by Hoobastank and tell me what you think. Maybe it's just me but I think it just totally describes Min and Rykers realtionship. Can anyone else just see Ryker singing it? XD Just kidding, Ryker doesn't sing. lol! But still go listen to it!
