Chapter Ooooone

"What is this?" Izzie asked as she put her leg up on a chair and started massaging it. "What?" Dayna asked as she finished up her nails. "This book. Why are you reading it?" Marc asked. "It's just a Maths textbook I borrowed from Minnie." Dayna said. "UN-believable. You are finally caring to even actually COPY your homework? I never thought I'd see the day." Izzie said, shaking her head. Marc laughed. "Hey hey hey don't get too excited. I just saw her writing love stuff inside so I asked her for it to check it out." Dayna said, pointing a nail polish bottle at Izzie and Marc. "Really? But why would you care? Minnie isn't an interesting person." Izzie said, arching an eyebrow. "Yeah but we have to keep up with the latest gossip!" Dayna said, reaching for the Maths book. "Ohmygod, yes." Izzie said, snatching the book away from Dayna before she could take it, then sticking a tongue out at her. "YOU! I BORROWED that book!" Dayna said. "Too bad, RIceGrain." Izzie said, laughing. She often called Dayna RiceGrain because of her petite body. "Give it to me! You don't even know what page!" Dayna said, standing up. "Relax girls, we can all see it together. Stop fighting over me, geez." Marc said. Dayna rolled her eyes, then giggled. "Yes, Marc, you are MEANT to be mine." Dayna said sarcastically. "Puh-leez. Marc is mine, and don't you forget that." Izzie said, flipping through the textbook. Dayna sat on Izzie's left and snatched it. "OK, let's see..." she said as she turned to the page she saw Minnie scribble in. "Page... 64." she mumbled. "Oh my gosh!" Izzie gasped when she saw the page. Dayna gaped. All over the page were the words:

Marc+Minnie=MM

"What? What? Who is it?" Marc asked. Izzie handed him the book. "Wow. Looks huge. Yet another girl falls for the great Marc Martins." he said smugly. "Ha-ha. Don't get too overly confident, Martins." Dayna said. "Yeah, Martins!" Izzie said in a stern manner. "Hey, that's INCLUDING YOU, Izzie Williams!" he said. "Well not me, so I can say it!" Dayna said. "That's right." Marc said and they laughed.

"Hey Dayna." Marc said as he sat down beside her at the school cafeteria during lunch. "Where's Tiff, Teagan and gang? And Izzie?" Marc asked. "Tiff and gang are probably heading here. Izzie's getting scolded by Mrs Lee for chewing gum in class." Dayna said, rolling her eyes. Marc laughed. "What happened?" he asked. "Um, she chewed gum and got caught? You know how strict Mrs Lee is!" Dayna said, nudging Marc and they made eye contact. Intense eye contact. Dayna couldn't help it but she was absolutely mesmorized by his bright green eyes. "HEY, guys!" Tiffany's shrill voice broke the spell, and Marc pulled away, greeting her. Dayna smiled at Tiffany as Teagan, Kelsey and Gemmie joined them. "Where's Isabella?" Gemmie asked as she put down her food- mashed potatoes, rice and chips. "Getting reprimanded." Marc said as he stole Kelsey's fries. She said nothing. Teagan and her gang were trying their best to impress Izzie, Dayna, Marc and Tiffany, to be part of them, so it was no surprise they were glad to be pushed around by them. "Oh my gosh hey guys!" Izzie said as she came to the table, her face flushed. "Wow, you look like you just ran a 200 metre race!" Marc said. "What happened?" Tiffany asked. "I ran, that's what happened. OK, anyway, my mum PMed me and told me that my dad is coming back from India today! Oh my gosh, I can't wait! I can't even remember how he looks like! The last time I must've seen him should be like, when I was 3?" she said as she sat down beside Marc, who embraced her with a hug. "Aloha amigos." Conard Bailey said as he joined them. He was Tiffany's boyfriend and was new to the popular crowd. "Hey Conard." everyone greeted. Dayna ate a chip as Minnie passed by, glancing nervously at Marc. Izzie gave her a dirty look. "What a bitch." Teagan said suddenly. "Yeah, what's she trying to do? Be our friend?" Kelsey said. "Some people are creepos." Tiffany said. "Tell me about it." Dayna said, watching as Minnie made her way over. Everyone was silent as she approached Marc. They were all staring at her. Tiffany, Dayna, Izzie and Teagan were staring daggers at her, while Gemmie, Kelsey and Conard just stared at her awkwardly. "H-hi Marc... I'm Minnie from... French, remember?" Minnie asked. Marc looked at Izzie, who kicked his shoe. "Ah- um no. I don't." he said coolly. "Oh.. uh.. I just wanted to.. pass you this." Minnie said as she handed him a fragranted pink envelope with both her hands. Izzie rolled her eyes when Marc accepted it. "Oh, Minnie, here's your textbook." Dayna said as she took it out of her bag and handed it to her. "Oh, by the way, nice scribbling you did there in page 64." Izzie said quickly. "You'd better get out of here quick, Minnie. We don't want to get your sickness." Kelsey said, sneering. Minnie blushed furiously, glancing nervously at Marc and Izzie. Marc was just holding the envelope. "Well? What are you still doing here?" Tiffany asked. "Um... well aren't you going to read it, M-Marc?" Minnie stammered. Marc gave the envelope a glance and lifted an eyebrow. "Later." he said. "O-Ok... reply please.." Minnie said softly and quickly scurried off. "What is WITH that girl?" Teagan asked, shaking her head at Minnie's back. "She's in love with Marc. She wrote love hearts with her name and Marc's all over page 64 in her book." Dayna said. "Oh my gosh, she's trying to steal your boyfriend!" Kelsey said. "Yeah, how stupid. She's SO in the bad side of our books now." Tiffany said. "Let's see the note!" Conard said, finally swallowing his food. "Sure." Marc said as he opened the envelope carefully. "What are you doing NOW?" Izzie asked as she snatched the envelope and tore it open. Dayna saw Minnie watching from afar. She was biting her lip. "Ok let's see... Dear Marc, though you have a lover, I still can't stop the feeling of love taking over me. I know you will be able to love me too, eventually, after you break up with Isabella Williams, of course. I don't want any unfaithfulness, Marc. But I hope you will treasure this note.. Love, Minnie, forever yours when your done with Izzie.." Izzie read. "Ohmygod, what a bitch." Teagan said. "Yeah, what kinda confession letter is that?" Conard. "And she's real stupid. Giving this letter infront of the girlfriend." Tiffany said. "She's so full of herself." Kelsey said softly. "She just doesn't get it. Marc's with me. Me cool she nerd. Doesn't she get the whole clique thing?" Izzie said. "She's so full of herself." Kelsey repeated, louder this time. "Yeah, so right." Gemmie said. "Yeah, she thinks that Marc will ACTUALLY like her too!" Conard said, sniggering. "Obviously that's impossible." Marc said finally.

Dayna groaned as she picked up her phone at midnight. "Hello..?" she said on the phone. "D-Dayna? Dayna, I need s-some help!" Izzie's whispered in a scared tone. Dayna's eye widened immediately. "Izzie? What's wrong? What happened?" Dayna asked, getting out of bed. "D-Dayna, I got.. Oh no, Dayne, I have to go! Tell Marc I.." and then the phone beeped. "Wha.." Dayna muttered and stood there in silence for a few seconds, before dialling Marc's number. "Why the hell are you calling at this time? Who's this?" Marc grumbled on the phone. "Marc! It's Dayna! Something's happened to Izzie!" she said urgently. "What?! What happened??" he asked, sounding surprised and awake. "I don't know. She didn't have time to tell me. Something happened. She was going to tell me what to tell you but then her line hung up." she said. She was getting worried. "Oh. Ok, don't worry. We'll check on her tomorrow at school." Marc said. "But, Marc, she sounded really scared." Dayna said, worried. "Don't worry. We will see tomorrow." Marc said reassuringly. "Ok.." Dayna mumbled.

"Marc, Izzie's not in school." Dayna said at lunch. "Are you sure?" Tiffany asked. "YES." Dayna said. Marc started to look worried. "Are you positively sure??" he asked. "Maybe she skipped." Conard said. "Or maybe she got reprimanded again." Teagan said. "No, I was supposed to have class with her in the morning. She didn't show." Gemmie said. "And the class before this was my lesson with her. She didn't show either." Dayna said, worriedly.
