I paced frantically, waiting for Mia's arrival. I was going to tell her today, show her my love. I applied another layer of deodorant and took deep breathe.

In the distance, I spot her skinny figure. I huff and applied yet another layer of deodorant, didn't want her to smell my sweat. I began to practice aloud,\" How do I explain this, well, um, see Mia, I've had a crush on you for a long time. I was just wondering if you would go on a date with me?\"

Suddenly, the tree I was leaning on sucked in. It's bark crumble inside the core and it managed to whisper,\" You like Mia.\" I stepped back.

\"Hi, Duane, you okay?\" Mia asked from behind me. I turned to her and opened my mouth, but I couldn't say anything. The words rolled of the tip of my tongue, slowly.

\" I-I-I-I,\" I stuttered. A shout from Mia's mother came a little while later. Mia smiled thinly, waved bye , and ran for her house. I had blown it. Ugh, idiot.
