Prologue

There are two types of people in this world:

1) The Hunted.

2) The Hunters.

I belong in group two. I’m a part of a larger group of Hunters that hunt and kill anything supernatural, the ones that don’t belong on this earth.

The Veniters don't seem dangerous from the outside, after all, they do resemble humans in almost every way- everyway except their eyes. Instead of the natural colours of human eye, the Veniters have multi-coloured eyes, having a mix of colours, normally two or more. Those colours can range from yellow to pink to black.

Not only are their eyes a different colour different, it’s also the way they act, and what they can do. Veniters can bend the elements; water, earth, fire and air, using these to their own advantage. Singularly, they aren’t hard to kill, but in a group, they can easily overpower our best fighters.

They are the next generation of humans- but mankind isn’t ready for them. If we allow the Veniters to carry on walking this earth, things will happen. Things no one is ready for.

That is where the VO come in.

The Veniter Origination.

The VO was set up a few hundred years ago after a group of humans found out about the Veniters and realised mankind was defenceless against them.

My name is Delilah, and I have been training all my life with the VO. Since the day I could walk, I have been in the classroom learning everything there is to know about eliminating the Veniters; I have been learning to find and kill them. My life has been a repeat of hunting, killing, and learning. I haven't been able to have a life outside of this; I have had no time for friends, I haven't even had time for family.

But that didn't stop me from falling in love with a boy. He was absolutely beautiful and perfect. With deep golden hair, a perfect set of ice blue eyes, and a smile that made me melt inside.

His name was Josolyn.

He was two years older than I was so we never spent time together. I just watched him from afar, watched as he laughed with his friends, trained in the arenas, watched as he sat in the canteen and ate.

I only ever spoke to him once. It was a Monday, and I was on my way to practice when I felt I tug on my arm, when I looked back Josolyn stood there, looking as perfect as ever. I never had time to ask him what he was doing. He only said four words to me: 'Be careful, they're watching.'

I never knew what he meant, and I never got a chance to ask him about it, because by lunch time, Josolyn had disappeared. His words kept playing over in my head.

That was two years ago.

But whether I want to or not, I’m about to find out what he meant.

A/N-

I have been working on this novel for a few months now, with the last chapter finally being finished last night. I have decided to start posting this now this (this is NOT the final thing, I am still going to be working on this but I need HONEST FEEDBACK so I can make this better!) I am working on this with the hopes that I will try to publish it one day, so PLEASE, it is important that you let me know what you TRUELY think about it, ways in which YOU think it could be done better, and any mistakes you notice. Thank you.
