Chapter 6: Like old times
“I don’t know what to do doctor, please I don’t want him anymore, get him away from me!” A soft hand had attempted to reassure the widow but only to receive a negative reaction. “Mrs Burns like it or not but Thomas is your son you can’t leave him like this, he needs help, serious help.” The doctor glanced out the window of his office and saw little Thomas sitting under a tree, just sitting there with this most unusual grin. “Mrs Burns your son requires immediate attention, I recommend you take him to an old friend of mine he owns the Groves mental hospital.” He placed the unusual looking business card on the desk in front of the widow. “Do you know what he said to me when I took him home from the morgue doctor?” She stood up quickly and started towards the door. “He looked me in the eye and whispered in my ear, don’t worry mummy he won’t hurt us anymore.” She left the room leaving the doctor speechless the card was missing from the table as he glanced back outside the window towards Thomas.
