I am Sydney. Most people call me Syd. This is my story, I must warn you... It is not a love story. Although, love is a big portion of my story, this is a story about me. I am 21 years old, and am studying to be a pharmacist at Maryland University. I just moved into a new apartment with my friend Rachel. Rachel is much different then myself. Rachel is 20 years old, and she has her life together. She has a wonderful boyfriend, Marco. She knows exactly what she is doing and is not letting anything get in the way of that. Myself on the other hand, I have no direction in my life what so ever. I know what I am doing career wise of course but boyfriend wise I am lost. I never considered myself any kind of beauty. Today is Rachel's birthday, she is the big 21! Looks like another night at the bar with Jacinta, Kendra, myself, and now Rachel! I spend most of my nights studying because college is hard. Fun, but hard. On the weekends I spend most of my nights at the bar, seeking love and passion but you don't find any of that at Jerry & Rosco's Pub.

"What can I get you, you lovely young lady?" said your typical ham behind the bar. "I'll have a Coors Light" I answered back, while batting my eyelashes. I try to look sexy, but I always fail. I'm gawky, and overbearing with my flirtation. Tonight I'm dressed nice, usually I'm in jeans and an old 80's music t-shirt. Since tonight is Rachel's birthday I thought I would do myself up a little bit. My long brown hair is curled and pulled behind my head with some of my loose bangs falling and framing my face. I am wearing a bright red flowly top that shows just the right amount of cleavage. I'm not a big fan of skirts, I dress for comfort really, but tonight I'm wearing a short jean skirt, black leggings, and my one and only pair of high heels. They are high, peep-toed, and bright red. "Syd Syd Syd! She's singing! She's only had about 5 drinks in her, and she is already up on stage!" yelled Kendra from behind a man who looks like he just got out of jail, and had longer hair then myself. I cut around him, and made myself comfortable in between Marco, Kendra, Jacinta, and some new boys that have been hanging around us lately. "Syd, I'd like you to meet Jeff, Dave, and Jorge" "Hi." Is all I could get out, I was to mezmorized by Jeff's beautiful "Crest commerical" smile.

As I was blow drying my hair, preparing for my date with Jeff (as you are well aware of now, me and him hit it off..suprisingly) my phone rang for the 2nd time. "Hello" I said kind of annoyed. "Sydney, how are you doing darling?" said my grandma. "Oh Hey grandma, I'm doing good. How are you?" "I'm wonderful sweetie pie, I just wanted to let you know that your cousin Logan and I are coming up to your mothers house later this evening to spend the night." "Awesome. Maybe I'll bunk there for the night too." I replied, excited for my date, and now excited to see my grandmother Mica, and of course Logan too. "Okay gram, I just got out of the shower. I have to run. See you later!" "Bye darling." Click. Logan is my favorite cousin. He is 23, and very much like myself. He is more of a loner, he has friends, but his last girlfriend was about a year ago. I don't see why though, he is a very charming and attractive. I finished doing my hair, and now I really need to Nair my somewhat of a 'stache coming in. I'm Italian, and although I love the food, I hate the hairyness. "Rach!" I screamed hoping she would hear me over the blaring Guns n' Roses cd I bought her. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. What?" "Where the hell are my flip flops?" I asked slightly aggravated that she always takes my stuff. "Hold on a sec" No less then a minute later she ran into the bathroom holding my hot pink shoes. "Thank you!" I said. "Oh, and by the way... stay off my shit!" I said jokingly. She laughed, but ran back into her room and hopped into her bed where Marco was laying. After about another 30 minutes, our doorbell rang. "Bye you two, have fun" I said and causaly stepped out the door.

"Hello gorgeous." Jeff said as I gracefully stepped out the door. "Hi" I said. Smiling, and I had a feeling I was blushing as well. "I'm so hungry!" exclaimed Jeff before we even got into his truck. Jeff was so gorgeous. He was deffinetly a little on the "redneck" side. He had a Ford 350 that growled to life when he put the keys in the ignition. He was wearing light blue jeans, a striped white and grey polo, and a brown baseball cap. His dark brown hair was tathered but looked perfect to me. We started driving down the road, and I bravely clicked on the radio. He pointed to his glovebox, and said he had a collection of CD's in there. I pulled out his CD case and began to scan through. Most of it was country, I was more of a rocker chick, but I put in a Tim Mcgraw CD, leaned back, and closed my eyes. I could feel him staring at me, so I opened my eyes very tiny, and saw him scanning my body, his mouth wide with a smile. I opened my eyes, and his eyes went back to the road. "So where are we going?" I asked. "Well I love this one place downtown called Magerks." He said. "I love that place. I used to go there all the time with my father." I said. I had to admit Magerks was very romantic. One side was a hustling bustling bar, but on the other a very quite, spacious, dark Irish restaurant.
