I saw a strange girl sitting in the back corner of the class room. Her clothes were drenched in water. I could see her knee was bleeding through her ripped knee high socks as I slowly approach her, she pays no attention to my presence. Her face was turned away from me and her brown eyes staring out into the dark window. She played with her hair which was a deep chestnut brown, and as we stood there in silence I reached over to lay my hand on her shoulder and called out to her,
“Hey Violet, why are you still in school?”
She pushed my hand away violently and swung her head sharply at me, swinging her hair into the air. She gave me a dark cold look.
I asked her, “Are you okay?”
She griped desperately at her arms and looked like she was going to hiss like a cat. She didn’t make a sound. I saw her mouth twitching. I leaned in a little to hear what she was saying.
Violet breathlessly whispered, “Clare…”
