Chapter 1: Hello World, I'm Adam

It was the last day of school for Junior Adam Fisher before summer began. Adam was a simple guy. He played sports for the high school he attended, had a lot of friends, and the majority of the attention he had was from girls at school. On his weekends off he rode motocross and enjoyed writing songs, as well as throwing small bonfires with his friends. Anybody looking in from the outside would say he had a very blessed life.

Adam lived in Troyer, a small town outside of Austin, Texas. People that live in Troyer often say that \"Anybody you run into, will know your business, your families business, and even your pets business\". This seems possible though, with only one high school, how big can you be? Adam didn't live in Troyer his whole life though, he moved there his freshman year. He use to live in Mane before his parents had to move down here for work. He didn't mind though, he made friends pretty fast and the weather was much better in Texas than it was in Mane.

Adams best friend was Jimmy Hughes, a 6''4 sophomore basketball player who wasn't as bright as he was tall. Jimmy was held back last year but he didn't care because the way he saw it was that he had one extra year of ball to play. Many people thought their friendship was abnormal. Adam was only 5''9 and pretty smart. Rumor was that he had been offered to move ahead a grade but declined the offer because he didn't want to seem \"abnormal\".

Rumors were something Adam hated more than anything, and with a small school like Brookhaven, rumors were inevitable. One time there was a rumor that somebody was going to go streaking at the last football game of the season. Attendance was never as high as that day. Another time somebody swore they saw the lunch workers putting bugs in the food on purpose. Nobody bought a lunch for almost a week. Adam had heard a few rumors about himself, but they were harmless. One was that he hooked up with the entire cheerleading team. Another was that he had the biggest dick in the entire school. The way he saw things, he would never have to worry about a negative rumor in his entire high school life.

The last bell rang, and classes were dismissed for the summer. Adam grabbed his bag and ran out the doors of Brookhaven with a smile on his face. The summer was here, it was time for relaxation. He was heading for his car when he felt a pull on his book bag. Turning around about to smack somebody he stopped. It was Hilary. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his entire life. He had a crush on her since his freshman year, but she was dating some huge football player. Plus her father owned half the town so he thought he had no chance in hell.

He smiled \"Hey, what's up Hilary?\" he tried to look calm and collected.

\"Sorry to grab you like that, I wanted to invite you to my pool party this weekend. I know it's last minute and we've barely talked this year, but I was hoping to change that this summer?\" she smiled at him.

He just stood there for a minute, almost lost in her eyes.

\"Adam...You awake in there?\"

\"Oh yeah, sorry I'm just really tired. I'll totally be there!\" He didn't realize how long he had been standing there, looking at her like she was a piece of meat.

\"Alright great! Here's my address and the time. I can't want to see you in a bathing suit\" laughing she gave him the paper and walked away.

It wasn't until he knew she couldn't see him anymore that he started to panic. Bathing suit. Swimming. Other people. He knew that he wouldn't be able to make it, but it was a nice thought. With his head down and his thoughts making him more upset, he walked to his car. Blasting his music, he started to drive home, thinking about how much better things would be if he was different.
