She ran down the sidewalk with blood dripping down her face. She wouldn't look back, she couldn't. She ran into a telephone booth under a street light and her fingers fumbled around the buttons as she tried to dial those three simple numbers. Too many thoughts filled her head at once and she struggled to organise them.

"911, what is your emergency?"

"I've been attacked!"

"Ma’am, what is your location?"

"I- I don't know. I-" The adrenalin welled up inside her when she caught a glimpse of a figure ducking into an ally.

"We are tracing your call now, ma’am. Help will be there shortly."

"He's here," she whispered. "He found me." "Who, ma’am?"

"I don't know," she started to cry. "I don't know, he just- he just attacked me. I think- I think he-"

"Ma’am listen to me. Is there any one around you? Any one there who could help you at all?"

"No, I'm alone." She saw something move. "I think he's here. Were are the police?"

"I'm here ma’am; listen carefully. Are there any buildings near you? Houses? Apartments? What's around you?"

"There's an apartment building," she whispered.

"Good now listen to me. Do not hang up the phone. Set it done and gopress one of the buttons on the apartment building and get some one to buzz you in. Stay with them until the police arrive. It should be soon."

"How long?"

"They should be no longer then five minutes."

"Ok." She set the phone down and peered out of the phone booth in the direction of the ally then ran to the apartment doors. She pressed a random button and a voice came over the intercom, but before she could press the button to reply some one grabbed her.

She felt his arm around her neck and he forced her away from safety. She struggled with everything she had left; kicking and screaming for help. Her heart was going a thousand beats per second as she clawed at his arm. She tucked her chin and tried to break free of his grip. She slipped her head out as far as her mouth before his grip tightened to stop her from making any more progress. His arm now gagged her preventing her from making a sound. The bitter taste of cologne stung her tongue but she had no room to move. She bit on his arm forcing her teeth into the muscles of his arms. She chocked on his blood but held on. He let out a surprised cry of pain and threw her to the ground causing her to smash the back head off the concrete. She barely had time to roll over before he picked her up by the hair.

"Try it again. See what happens," he dared her. The beer on his breath upset her stomach. She screamed and he covered her mouth. "No one’s hears you!" he said, "No one will help you." She pushed back with her legs and ran him into the brick wall. The surprise knocked the wind out of him and she ran him into it again and they both fell to the ground. He finally let go of her hair. She scrambled to stand up but he grabbed her leg and pulled her back. He pinned her to the ground face down. With one knee digging into her spin he grabbed her hair and pounded her face into the sidewalk until she lost consciousness.

She saw a blinding light and it took a moment for her eyes to focus. Someone was sleeping in a chair next to the bed she was in and she remembered it was her mom. The nurse walked into the room, but stopped in her tracks as if she’d seen a ghost. "Sadie? Sadie Addison?" she asked.

"Yes?" she replied. The nurse woke her mother and called for the doctor. Her mother was hugged her as if she’d never let go again. The doctor came into the room and seemed surprised as well.

"Hello, I’m Dr. Moore. I just need to ask you a few questions, ok?"

"Ok" Sadie had no idea why everyone was acting so strange. She was attacked but this seemed a bit unusual.

"What is your name?"

"Sadie Addison."

"Ok and what is your date of birth?"

"December 17th 1988."

"Good," he smiled at her mother who could barely stay in her seat. "Now what year is it?"

"2008" The smile faded from his face. Sadie looked at her mother who’s enthusiasm had died down. Her mother sat on the bed and wrapped her arms around her.

"Honey, you’ve been asleep for three years. Its 2011."
