Jazmine couldn't sleep that night. She stayed up, looking out her window at the freckled darkness. She wondered if she just imagined the boy that day or if he was really out there. Something was different about seeing him today. He was more realistic then ever. His facial expression, body language, everything. But then again, what was the boy doing in the school yard (If he was real persay) Why was the boy watching her and why was he so afraid when she waved? These questions haunted Jazz until the sun rose and the song birds chirped brightly into the new day.

"You look awful." Julia frowned seeing the distressed sixteen year old slump down the oak staircase.

"Didn't sleep good. Actually, didn't sleep at all." Jazz replied dropping down on the couch in exhaust.

"Maybe you should stay home from school, I'm taking Liam to daycare so you should be fine to stay. I'll even call you in sick dear. If you want?"

Jazmine didn't even have to think twice before she nodded Julia away and snuggled up on the couch. With her music blaring in her headphones, she finally fell asleep. After hours of counting sheep with no prevail she was out. Even though she was in a subconscience state, her mind was far from at ease.

"Jazmine? Is that you?" a quiet someone murmured in the distance. "Jazmine? Jazmine?"

Jazmine groggily stumbled out of her bed and towards the voice downstairs. She couldn't remember getting in her bed, she was left dazed and utterly confused.

"Jazmine, we need to talk." the voice rang out over the humming of the tv static.

"Wh-who is there?" Jazz called out. "Hello-?" Finally down the stairs, Jazmine turned the corner into the kitchen, the small lamp on the circular table flickered. She wasn't scared, but curious and nervous at the same time. "Hello?" And there he was. The boy standing in the front doorway, tapping his foot slowly and in rhythm. The boy has never said anything to Jazz before, his wispy voice took her off guard.

"We need to talk." He whispered again. The boy shook his shaggy brown curls away from his face and stretched out his hand to her. Against all her will, Jazmine grabbed it and he led her outside. It was dark and cloudy and she could feel rain coming. Just the chill, the taste.

"Who are you?" Jazmine asked suddenly. The boy stopped and dropped her hand. They were at the start of the woods when he turned to her.

The boys voice trailed on, echoing through shaded trees. It sent shivers down Jazmine's spine. "That's what I'm trying to figure out..."

"I brought you lunch Jazz." Julia smiled waking Jazmine up from her light slumber. "Chinese food."

Jazmine rubbed her eyes and looked around. She was confused and disoriented but of course she wasn't gonna share that with her stepmom.

"Good, I'm starved." Jazz mumbled in defeat.
