The door made quite a slam and I heard Radley yell. ‘Hey!’ he bellowed. ‘Open this door now, Veronica!’

I couldn’t move. I was frozen, both physically and mentally, completely in awe of what I’d just done. The crash of wood as he must have thrown himself against the door echoed in my ears.

‘Open this door, NOW!’ Radley thundered.

He bashed against it again. I could hear him, the woodbanging loudly in my ears as he threw his weight against it.The bolt rattled. He must have tugged at it now, as I watched the wood bend, furiously trying to open. I heard a tear, a creak, a snap. He must have been stronger than I'd anticipated. I swallowed, suddenly aware of how much damage he could do to me if he caught me now.

I found myself running down the corridor, which stretched out endlessly. I threw a glance behind me. The bolt snapped completely, to my horror and awe. Radley opened the door, his eyes wide, his cheeks purple with rage.

I tried to pick up the pace, but everything was in slow motion. My feet felt heavy. My heart thumped in my stomach. I thought I may throw up. Footsteps echoed. I could hear my panting, amplified to a thousand times its original volume.

I had no time to make it down the stairs. I could feel Radley behind me, his T-shirt brushing against my own. Amazingly, my feet hurried along. I didn’t know what I was doing, but my feet led me to the bathroom.

I threw the door shut, my hands shaking as I tried to bolt it. I was thrown backwards as Radley stormed in. I staggered backwards.

I needed something, anything, to help me. What could I use?

I grabbed the razor, liking the feel of the rubber in my hand and I turned around to see Radley stood there with his hands clawed like an eagle as if he was about to strangle me and I sliced the razor down his face, liking the feel of the cut under my hand.

I saw blood seep from Radley’s cheek. It was the most beautiful, deepest red, gleaming like silk.

We both stood there, stunned. Radley’s hands rose to touch his cheek delicately. I wanted to touch it as well, just to make sure it was real.

I tried to edge past him but he yanked me by the back of my T-shirt. The front cut into my neck and I worried I might choke as he dragged me backwards.

He held me in a headlock. I tried pushing my way out, but at the same time I was worried he might punch me if I struggled.

He dragged me all the way back up to the bedroom. I realised I was kicking and screaming but couldn’t will myself to stop.

Radley threw me onto the bed. I bashed my head against the wall. It stopped me from screaming immediately.

He leant forward, his hot breath hitting my face like a slap.

The blood trickled down his face still. My eyes travelled over to it. I was fascinated, and proud too. He spoke but I couldn’t hear him. I was too distracted.

‘You will be punished for this,’ he growled, before storming off, slamming the door.

I smiled a little, collapsing back onto the bed and heaving a contented sigh.

i think i would have liked it better if she had gotten further away and they had a little game of cat and mouse, but that is probably the slightly sadistic side of me :P great chapter, very well written!! but very short :( please kmu of course :D

Yeah, that would have worked too, but I just wanted to keep it kind of straight to the point... I'll probably put in a chase later on somewhere, maybe. xD Thank you, and I know :/ Of course. :D
