Chapter 3

Why, Jason?

Jason looked lifeless. There was not one sign that he was still alive. I was thrown into the back of a car just down the street, I screamed for Jason. With tears streaming down from my eyes, I tried to get free. I just needed to know that Jason was alright. By the last glimpse of him, he looked dead. He was motionless. I was sure he was dead. I cried. I cried for the one person that had ever cared for me as his own. Somehow, the rope that had tied my hands behind my back became loose. This was my only chance. If I stuffed this up, there could be a chance of no tomorrow. Draco Van Hulk was just getting into the car. I had silently crept behind the front seat where he was seated. I threw the rope around his neck and tied it around the head of the seat as tight as I could so I could at least have some time to get to Jason. He desperately inhaled for air. It was pointless, although it wouldn’t hold for long.

I ran. It was the fastest I had ran in my entire life. Was I that desperate, knowing Jason could be dead? I couldn’t just leave without knowing the truth. I can’t leave him for dead. Not after what he did for me. I finally got to the house. There was blood on the front porch where he had been attacked. Who attacked him? Could it have been Draco before he came inside to abduct me? Was it some of his filthy accomplices? I turned to face the car. The car door swung open. Draco stepped out the car grinning. He started walking strait at me. I opened the door and as fast as I could, locked it behind me.

“Jason? Jason! Wake up. Wake up Jason! You can’t do this to me! Wake up!” I screamed looking down at his motionless body. I shook him. He didn’t move. More tears slid down my face. Why did this happen? Was this all because I’m wanted by Draco? It’s my entire fault. Suddenly, Jason’s eyes opened. He looked at me. “I’m sorry. It’s for the best.” He said with a tear sliding down his face. He grabbed hold of me and edged me towards him as he sat up. He pulled me closer. He swept the hair that was sitting on my shoulder back, showing the skin on my neck. Licking his lips, he opened his mouth. His teeth grew rapidly, and with that he bit me. His teeth sunk into my neck. He was draining my blood like water from a bottle. “J-Jason, stop!” I screamed in pain. “Why, Jason?”

I awoke. It was just like that dreadful day I met Draco. Jason, yes Jason. He was a vampire too! He was as pathetic as the rest of them. How? When? Why was he a vampire? Why didn’t he tell me? I looked around as I thought to myself. I was in a dark room. Cement floors and walls, most likely underground in a cell. It was cold. It was lonesome. I could barely see, let alone breathe. The room was so closed in that it felt like prison. “Hello?” I said as I shivered. No one responded. I was alone. I walked to the corner of the cell. I asked myself numerous times, why would Jason do that? Maybe I was wrong about him since the start. Maybe he’s just as bad as Draco, Maybe... He’s worse. I needed to know, why Jason would try to end my life like that. “It’s for the best.”  Those were the last words he said to me. What’s for the best?

The cell door swung open. In walked a beautiful, young girl. She looked the age of 12. “Mother told me to come get you. Please, if you would follow me out to the main room.” She said shyly. I stood up and slowly made my way to the door. I wasn’t sure what to expect as I walk out the door, I just really hoped it wasn’t a bunch of man eating vampires. As I stepped out the door, I could not believe my eyes. Whoever these people are must be rich, right? They have vases, lined with gold. Statues up and down the corridor that look like they may be worth millions. “Are you coming? Mother needs to have a few words with you.” As she said that, she stopped by a door. “Mother is through this door.” I walked through the door. I was astonished. The mother of the young girl was neither human nor vampire. She was pure wolf.
