My eyes scanned the horizon, and the cold wind bit at my face, and tore at my bangs. The moonlight was bright, but it was soon demolished as the clouds hid it away. I began to travel down the steep hill, inching my way toward the city, slowly.
The city was a place I had only went to once, but it was almost magical. When I was ten, I took a school field trip there, and everywhere I went, the light were bright. The smells of the city were wonderful. The people. The noise. I loved it all.
I looked up at the stars, setting down my duffle bag. I was strong. I was alive. I was free. And now Im back to take my share of life.
The stars opened my eyes to the sky. Not the darkness, but the light. Everything was shining, I felt a warm smile spread across my face, My heart seemed to stop at the meer beauty of it all. Everything was going to be okay.
I grabbed my bag, running down the hill. All worries gone, and the air was not cold and bitter any more. It was sweet and warm on my skin. The lights of the city became brighter, and before I knew it, the buildings towered over me. The noises filled my head, the sight took my breath away.
I was finally here.
