The New Beginning
aking up in Philly’s arms felt so right. I didn’t think that me and Ian would ever break up. He did change my life I will admit that but Philly was my one and only now. I looked over at Philly who
was passed out basically. He was gorgeous even without his hair packed with hair product. I looked at the time and saw it was eleven-thirty in the morning. It was the first sleep-in in weeks. I
felt refreshed and healthy for once.
Philly and I would be hunting today since it had been a month since my last hunt. After that we would be visiting Regan the Vampire King. I promised the Vampire King a visit and I wasn’t up for breaking promises. I got up trying to move slowly so I didn’t disturb Philly and grabbed two fresh towels. I walked into the bathroom and turned the water on. I got undressed and hopped into the shower. I washed my hair that was now sitting on my lower back. It had gotten so long since I was first changed last year. I was still getting used to my hair growing so fast. I finished washing my hair and body; I let the water run down my body for a few moments than jumped out. I wrapped the towel round me and put a towel round my hair.
I walked over to the closet and opened it. Olivia and I had gone out and did another shopping spree and throwing out clothes that Ian had sent to the palace for me. I didn’t know what to wear. I chose a white dress that had pink flowers going along the bottom of the dress and put on a pair of pink ballet flats. I took the towel off my head and dried my hair.
I walked out of the closet to see Philly awake.
“Good morning.” I said to Philly as I walked over to the bathroom.
“Morning babe.” Philly said as he stretched.
“How’d you sleep?”
“I slept well.” Philly looked me up and down, “You sure you wanna wear white today?”
I didn’t think of hunting and I was wearing white. “Shit. I’ll get changed after I do my hair.”
Philly got up and grabbed a towel. I walked over and went into the bathroom with Philly behind me. I plugged in the hair curler; I waited for it to heat up. I grabbed out my make-up and started putting it on. I heard the water running in the shower; I looked over and saw Philly washing his hair. I smiled to myself. I never thought of Philly being mine. I was started to love him. As he was starting to love me. I kept putting my make-up on and reach over for the hair curler. I started curling my hair when I heard a knock on my door.
“Coming!” I yelled out.
I finished curling my hair; I was still getting used to my speed. I unplugged the hair curler and walked over to the door. I opened the door and Lilly was standing there.
“Morning my queen. How are you?” Lilly asked.
“I am good, yourself Lilly?” I replied.
“I am good. I got sent to tell you and Philly that breakfast is served.” Lilly smiled.
“Thank-you Lilly. We will be there soon.” I said.
“I will let Kendal know.” Lilly said, she did a turn on her heel and walked away.
I shut the door and walked back into the bathroom. Philly was getting out of the shower as I walked in. He wrapped a towel around his hips; I smiled at him. He had a ripped and tanned. I giggled and walked up to the sink.
“Who was at the door?” Philly asked me.
“It was Lilly. She was letting me know that they have made us breakfast and it is ready.” I replied as I put on lip gloss.
“She is coming good, Corinne. You made a good choice with her.” Philly said as he hugged me from behind and put his hands around my waist.
His deep voice still made me melt. “I’m just hoping she doesn’t go back to old ways. I don’t want to see her turn into one of those outsiders.”
“I don’t think she will she has got it good here. It is way better than what the outlands were.”
“Yeah, I guess so. I better get changed if we are going hunting after breakfast.”
“Yeah you better. White isn’t so good to go hunting in.” Philly laughed.
I walked over to the closet and pulled out a shirt and pants. I pulled the shirt over my head and noticed a note hanging from the roof.
“This wasn’t here before.” I said to myself.
“What wasn’t?” Philly asked.
“This note. It was hanging room the ceiling; it wasn’t here when I came in before.”
I unfolded the note. I looked at it and then read it.
Corinne, I came into here before and borrowed a dress. Olivia. Xo. P.S- Me and Nate will not be joining you on the trip to Regan’s but we will be there.
“Olivia.” I laughed.
“What?” I heard Philly say.
“Olivia broke in, borrowed a dress. Oh and her and Nate won’t be on our plane, but they will be at Regan’s.”
I walked out of my closet and turned. I looked up to see Philly playing with Ella, my almost one year old dog. She was standing at my knees now and her fur was all shaggy and soft.
“Let’s go before Kendal comes to get us again.” I laughed.
“Alright. Come, Ella.” Philly said.
We walked out of the room and walked down to the private dining room that was smaller than the other dining which I called the hall. We walked in to see a banner saying we will miss you.
“You guys!” I said, “You didn’t have to do this.”
“We will miss you two love birds so much!” Lilly squealed.
“She is right we will.” Jason said.
“Finally, you two make an appearance. Eat now.” Kendal said.
“Yes mum!” Philly said and sat down.
We all sat down and ate the breakfast that Kendal got the chiefs to do. There was pancakes; fruit; sausages; bacon; you name it, it was there.
“Kendal, top word to the chief.” I said.
“Will do!” Kendal said.
“We better get going, Cor.” Philly said.
“Okay.” I said.
I got up and so did everyone else including Lilly. I looked at all their faces knowing that I was their Queen now and there was no turning back.
“Corinne,” I heard Lilly’s small voice say.
“Yes, Lilly?” I turned and looked at her.
“Can I have a quick word with you and Philly before you two leave?” Lilly asked.
“Of course you can, darling.” I replied.
“After you say good bye to Kendal and Jason.” Lilly said, quietly.
“I can do that.” I said as I walked over to Jason and Kendal.
I hugged Kendal, “Make sure you keep your eyes on Lilly. And be nice to her for me please.”
“I will and I promise to be nice. I won’t break this promise.”
“Good. Now no parties when I’m gone.” I laughed and hugged Jason.
“Have a safe trip love birds.” Jason said.
“We will. You ready Philly?” I asked.
“I am if you are.” Philly laughed.
“Alright, we are off. We will see you in a few days.” I said as we walked out.
Lilly followed us out and we went into the flower garden that Kendal had put plants in over the year.
“I wanted to talk to you and Philly. Since I have this good behave bond going on; I was wondering if it could be lifted a tiny bit when you’re gone?” Lilly asked.
“Okay, I hear what you saying but it has been lifted to one year instead of two. So; how about we do this? If you can behave and do everything Kendal tells you; your good behave bond will magically disappear,” I said, “But, you have to let me know if Kendal treats you mean or not.” I whispered the last part.
“I can do that. I will be one my best behave!” Lilly said excited.
“Good girl.” I hugged Lilly, “You remind me of my little sister.” I said.
“Be good, no parties.” Philly said.
I looked at Philly than at Lilly. I took Philly’s hand and started walking. I said good bye to Lilly and off we went. All I think about is my little sister Aimee who is now in heaven, if there is such a place as heaven. I could see the car crash in my head and watching the car roll until a complete stop. I didn’t like having death visions but sometimes they come in good.
“What’s wrong?” Philly asked me.
“It’s just… It’s… Lilly. She just reminds me of Aimee. She acts like Aimee and she starting to be like a little sister to me. I wish I could bring back my family but if I was to bring them back, it still wouldn’t be the same. I wouldn’t be able to see them because of what we are.” I said, sounding sadder than what I actually thought.
“Sweetie, we can’t change the past. We can just remember it. Remember the happy times with them. Remember all the family vacations you went on with them. Don’t ever think that they are that far away. And remember that it was not a good bye. It was a see you later.” Philly smiled at me.
“I won’t see them again. I’m stuck like this forever.” I broke down in tears.
Why did it have to be me like this? I couldn’t take it. I ran to a tree and started ripping the bark off. I felt fire come up through my body, I felt the fire in my hands and I just threw the fire at the tree and it set a light. When I snapped out of my anger I saw the tree burning.
“WHAT AM I DOING?!” I screamed at myself.
I thought of water putting out the tree. The tree just sizzled in front of me. I sat down on the ground and stared at the tree that was half burnt. I watched it heal up and fresh new bark was on it. Philly came up and sat behind me. He hugged me.
“Do you feel better now that the anger is out now?” Philly whispered in my ear.
“No, I just put a helpless tree on fire and put it out and watched it heal thanks to you doing the healing part for the poor thing.” I said. I sighed.
“It’s okay. It’s a good thing I have an affinity for earth hey?” Philly gave a little laugh.
“Yeah. Wish you had fire and I had earth, I wouldn’t be burning stuff.” I let out a laugh.
“There we go, you seen the happy side to something.” Philly said.
“Sort of. We better go or we are going to miss our flight.” I said.
I got up and help Philly up. Philly hugged me and kissed my forehead.
“Everything will be alright one day soon.” He whispered.
We through the forest, by the time we got to town it were dark. We ran the streets finding the darkest spot of town. We stopped when we found a dark part. We saw two guys walking down to where we were. I look at Philly.
“I have a new plan, stay here and just watch.” I said with a wink.
I walked out of the dark park and started walking towards the men. I put on an act.
“Hey boys.” I said, trying to act as sexy as I could.
“Well, what do we have here?” One of the boys said.
“How you doin’?” I asked them.
“We doin aight.” The other guys said.
“Wanna come with me?” I said with a wink.
“Okay. Where?” They both said at the same time.
“Follow me.” I said with a smile.
I walked towards Philly, and whispered, “Get ready.”
I kept walking down and hearing their whispers. We got to the spot where Philly was hiding out; I turned around and looked at them. I saw fear in their eyes when they saw my face. Philly walked out. They screamed; Philly snapped their necks in record time. I looked at Philly and kissed him. I grabbed one of the men and Philly grabbed the other one. I put the guy in between my legs and bit his neck; I felt the blood run down my throat like a milkshake on a hot day. I suck the guy dry and feeling better. Philly made a hole in the ground and we tossed the guys in. We saw two other people walking down towards us; we pressed ourselves against the wall and waited; like a lion about to attack his prey. They walked into the shadows where we were standing. I jumped both of them and snapped their necks just like the other two guys. Philly grabbed one and I grabbed the other. The blood felt like the other man I chucked down the hole that Philly made. I sucked the person dry until no more blood came to me. I did the same as the other person and chuck the person down the hole. Philly chucked the woman he got and then closed the hole.
“Always a pleasure working with you, Sir. Philly.” I chuckled.
Philly walked over to me and grabbed me by the waist and pulled me to him. He kissed me passionately. I kissed him back.
“You always have a way of turning me on when you hunt. GOD! I love it!” Philly said to me.
“And the same with you, my sexy hunky man!” I kissed him again.
We both laughed and made a run for it; like we were criminals running from the cops. It was such a rush when we finished hunting. We ran to where we left our suitcases and quickly got changed. And went to the airport. There was a private jet waiting for us at the airport.
“Philly Samson and Corinne Houston.” Philly said to the lady at the desk.
“Right this way.” She said and led us to the jet.
We got on the jet and waited for the plane to take off. I looked over at Philly and smiled at him. Philly winked back at me. I giggled at Philly.
“Please buckle up your seat belts. Five minutes until take off.” The speaker said.
I grabbed my belt and clipped up. Five minutes took forever and I was in my own little world when I heard the speaker start talking again. It made me jump. I heard Philly laugh at me.
“Hey; it scared me!” I said to him.
“You’re cute.” Philly said.
I looked at him as if to say no I am not. It was still pretty funny that the speaker scared me. As Philly always tells me ‘Expect the Unexpected’. I felt the plane take off and saw the seat belt sign turn off. I walked over to Philly and sat on his lap.
“So, you think it’s funny seeing me jump?” I said and gave a little smile.
“When you say it that way. Yes, yes I do.” Philly laughed.
“Well, I don’t think it is.” I said and I thought of air.
A light wind picked up around us, my hair was softly blowing and Philly’s hair didn’t move because of all the hair product he used. Philly laughed and pulled me close for a kiss. I kissed him back. I made myself comfortable on his lap and fell asleep. I dreamt of my family seeing me for who I am now. I saw Aimee smile at me; my mum and dad said that they know who I really am and they accept me for being a Vampire Angel. I felt my lips moving but no words came out. My parents were saying it was time for them to leave me. I saw Aimee wave bye and to look after Lilly like she was Aimee. I didn’t want them to leave. I screamed no and sat straight up. I was in a limo. I looked at Philly.
“You were asleep and I didn’t want to disturb you. Were you dreaming of your family?” Philly asked.
“Yeah, I was.” I said and snuggle back in to Philly.
I stared out the window for the drive to Regan’s palace. And thinking of my family and what they said before they faded away.
