I kept replaying the conversation in my head… I have no idea how I’m going to do this. I don’t even know if she likes me… She probably doesn’t. But it’s worth a try. I guess. I’ve had a crush on her for years now and it’s all coming down to this day. Its four forty and I better get moving. I’m wearing my tigers jumper and black skinny’s. Hopefully she thinks I’m hot. ‘Seeya Mum!’ I yell. I don’t even give her a chance to reply because I want to get out of the house as soon as possible. Walking down the hill towards the school is a beautiful sight. You can see the mountain range up here. I decided not to waste the chance to give my legs a workout. I break out into a sprint, I race down the hill, almost tripping over a log. When I get to the road I look up to see if Amy’s there. She’s standing behind the school logo sign. She can’t see me thank god. I race across the road and all I hear is screeching of car tires and my legs buckle beneath me. Before I realize what’s happening Amy’s by my side screaming for help. I blurt out the only thing I can manage to say. ‘Tell my mum I love her…’ She got out her phone and dialed 911. ‘This is Amy Depton, my… friend Michael… he’s just been hit by a car and the car just drove off. It looks like he’s got a broken leg and he’s got blood coming out of his head! Plea…’ And that’s the last I could hear as consciousness slipped away from me.
