10/11 Man given no chance

Little eyes look at the hurt, as the big man lurks.

Broken blood vessels appear as marks, black so dark.

Under the sheets the boy hides, tears flow like tides.

The night’s sleep shuts this out, but unforgotten no doubt.

Years hate dreaded eyes stare, this was so not fair.

Dreams are laid to rest, living was the test.

Unshakeable with the pills, dealing with unpaid bills.

The reputation was a mess, but didn’t make you man no less.

Girl mistakenly knocked up, father nothing but a mutt.

This baby is given no chance, no room to ever dance.

Memories are relived through generations with angry relations.

That little boy was given no chance without a deuce, repeated circle of abuse.
