I love the way your smile can light up a room,

You’re the cure for all my gloom.

I love the songs you sing,

Your voice sets off the bells, making them ring.

But of all the words I could use to describe you,

Sadly, none of them would get through to you.

I hate the way you look into my eyes and lie,

I hate the amounts of tears you’ve made me cry.

They told me love wouldn’t hurt, they were wrong.

All I can think about is pain when I listen to every love song.

I thought this happiness would be shiny and brand new,

Instead, you smiled and ripped my heart in two.

I loved the way you looked into my eyes, promising me forever.

Soon I realized that “forever” would turn into “never”.

I hate how you were my glue,

But mostly, I hate how much I still love you.
