Me and Hyde sat in my room for a while, not saying a single word for we feared the moment would be lost completely in the dark depths of time. I softly placed a kiss on his forehead and he shiver against me. He looked up to me and smiled a sad smile. He lightly pressed his hand against my chest, once again running away from me.

“We should really work on the project. We haven’t gotten much done and we only have this week.” He said and looked away from me. I smiled and wrapped my arms around him, pulling him back into my lap. His face grew bright red when I placed my head on his shoulder and kissed his cheek.

“Ok that’s fine. We can work on the paper; did you bring any of your notes for it?” I asked him and he nodded, quickly slipping away from my grip. He grabbed his bag and started rummaging through a bunch of random papers he had outside of his folders. Finally he ended up with about four pages of notes, which was about the same amount as I had.

“If you want, I’ll work on the first half of the paper and then you can write the second half. I think it needed to be like four pages. I could be wrong though… Do you remember?” Hyde said and I chuckled. He seemed a little flustered and it was adorable.

“We’ll work on it together; it was a minimum of five pages. Let’s go, my computer is in its own separate room.” I said and walked towards him, grabbing his soft hand and leading him to the computer room.

It was a really small room which had white walls and shelves were put up all over. My grandpa had so many CDs and needed someplace to put them so it was the computer room. There were two desks, one on the back wall and one on the left wall. The one in the back was the one that I typically used while the other one was for my grandparents.
I sat down at my chair and then looked back to me. He looked a little concerned and was looking around the room. He sighed and then looked back to me.

“There isn’t another chair in here? What’s the point of two desks and only one chair?” He asked me and I smiled. His wrist was then in my hand and he was sitting in my lap once more. He squirmed a bit but then calmed down when he found out I wasn’t going to let go.

“My grandparents have a couple friends coming over tonight for dinner so they needed a few extra chairs, the other one in here just happened to be available.” I said with a smirk. “Anyways, I would much rather have us sit like this.” I whispered into his ear.

We were like this for mere seconds and then the door burst open. My grandfather looked at me, his face full of shock. He raced towards me and handed me the phone, his hand shaking. He then raced away calling for my grandma.

“Hello?” I asked, fearing whatever it could be. My grandpa was never that scared, I had never seen him shake like he just had. With my arm still wrapped around Hyde I waited for an answer.

“Seth? Is that you? Chase is in the hospital! He overdosed on something and his mom said that he’s currently unconscious! We HAVE to go down there and wait for him to wake up. I’ve already told your grandpa and he said he was on his way. I’m almost there right now; get here as soon as possible.” Anna yelled into the phone, almost too fast for me to comprehend.

“Wait, Anna! Chase overdosed? When did this happen, how did it happen?” I asked quickly but it was too late, she had already hung up. Her words soaked in almost instantly and the phone dropped from my hand and my arm loosened from around Hyde. I shook with fear for my best friend. I pushed Hyde off of me and grabbed his hand, racing for the front door.

I slipped my shoes on quickly and then ran out to my car, Hyde following close behind. I started the car as soon Hyde’s door was closed. I drove as fast as the law would allow. Hyde’s eyes bore into my side and I couldn’t help but yell what? at him. I saw him flinch out of the corner of my eye but he continued anyways.

“Seth, it’s going to be ok. It might not be as bad as Anna might have made it sound. Calm down or we’re going to be in trouble too.” He said calmly and rested his hand on my shoulder, showing that kind and caring side of him once more. I took a huge gulp of air and sighed loudly.

“I know he’s probably ok but I just am scared…. He’s been my best friend forever and I just don’t want anything bad to happen to him. I don’t want to lose my best friend. Sure, I have Anna but she’s not as close to me as Chase, Anna doesn’t know as much as Chase.” I said feeling tears in my eyes begging to be released.

Hyde was silent for a moment and then nodded. He said no words but his hand on my shoulder kept me a little calmer. The rest of the ride was in complete silence which was most likely for the best.

When we got to the hospital I was once more in a frenzy. I parked and then threw the door open. I raced inside and to the desk begging for them to tell me where Chase was. The nurse looked at me like I was crazy and I would have probably gone crazy had Hyde not grabbed me by the hand and led me over to where Anna stood.

Anna looked Hyde over for a moment and then nodded. She pointed to a door on the right and I sprinted over to the door and flung it open. Chase’s barely moving body lay in a single bed. His mother sat in a chair to his side and didn’t even notice my hasty entrance.

Hyde remained out with Anna as I sluggishly moved towards Chase. As I approached him he began to move and his eyes opened. He looked straight past his own mother straight to me, his eyes not lighting up as normal but his happiness still evident.

“Seth, you’re here.” He said quietly and his hand rose slightly. I stepped towards the bed and he grabbed my hand like he tended to do, lacing his fingers through mine. “I don’t know what happened but I’m glad you’re here.” He murmured. “Don’t leave my side.” He uttered and then his eyes closed once more.

I nodded, even though I knew he wouldn’t know that. Those tears which had threatened earlier now fell, not out of sorrow but out of relief because I knew that my BEST friend would be ok.

A/N: Yeah this chapter was a little short but I really wanted to save things for the next chapter x) I actually updated within a week or two which surprises me. The next chapter may or may not be up by next Friday. It all depends on my mood. The whole drug overdose idea goes to my lovely friend Anna :D
