Chapter One

The day which completely changed my life was not only normal at first, but was one of the worst days of my life. The events which led up to where I am now were far from normal, in fact, it was more like a nightmarish fantasy come to life.

Like I said, it was a normal day in my life. Well, let me rephrase that. It was a normal day in my old life. I was at the mall looking for some new clothes because my first day of college was coming up. I wanted to change my look completely before going. I was inside Hot Topic when this strange man grabbed my shoulder.

“Your life is about to change. Life as you know it will be altered and there is nothing you can do about it. The more you refuse, the more your life will change.” He hissed and then raced away from me. In my confusion and curiosity I chased after him. That was mistake number one.

I raced out of the store with the bags from other stores I had been to so far. The man had completely disappeared but I continued to run in the direction he had ran. That was mistake number two.

A guy who looked around my age grabbed my wrist and pulled me into a hidden corner. He covered my mouth and whispered into my ear to be quiet. I began to squirm in his arms, trying anything to get away. That stopped when screams echoed throughout the mall and blood came fly at my face. The guy pulled me behind him at an impossible speed and the blood coated his front.

It seemed that we were there forever, my face into his back and him as a shield. I didn’t even realize I had been crying or that the screams had long stopped. The guy who had covered me from whatever had been the cause of terror now turned to me. He had a smile on his face, which didn’t go well with the blood streaming down his body.

He had one of those really cute smiles that almost any girl would fall for. They went well with the amber eyes that he possessed. He wore a black hoodie and gray skinny jeans. His short, pale, blond hair shined from the now dimmed mall lights.

“I’m sorry that you had to hear that. If I had been able to find you quicker it may not have been a problem. We have to get out of here now though because they’ll come back soon enough.” He said and then stepped about five feet away. The next event almost stopped my heart completely. He now stood before me as a cheetah, the fur was a pale blond still and his eyes the same amber.

“Get on my back and hold on.” The cheetah said which startled me even more. I merely did as I was told, sitting carefully on its back, leaning forward slightly and wrapping my arms gently around its neck. The big cat below me purred and then began to run.

Everything around me blurred and all I could see was the mass of fur beneath me. There was that and the patches of red that splattered the floor. I’m pretty sure I know exactly what they were but I choose and chose at the time to not think about it.

Then we were outside in the fresh air. It had somehow become nighttime by the time I was outside. I figured that the cheetah would stop once we got outside but I was wrong. He just continued to run and run without seeming to want to stop. Before I knew it we were far out of town, the town which I had lived in since I was born.

“Wait! Stop and turn around! I need to be in town, my parents will worry!” I shrieked. The mass of fur below me seemed to gain speed as soon as my mouth closed. “Please, stop?” I murmured into the cheetah’s ear. We went on in complete silence for more than an hour and passed through multiple towns. Then everything completely stopped moving and we were in front of a Holiday Inn.

Below me the pale cheetah changed back into the boy once more. I clung to his back for a moment or so before quickly backing away from the stranger. The blood which had been covering his body now had dried and he still had the same smile from the mall.

“It’s ok; I’m not going to hurt you. In fact, it is the complete opposite. I’m at your service my lady.” He said and bowed in front of me. I tapped his shoulder, giggling when he looked up to me with a confused look.

“I think you are mistaken. I don’t know what kind of strange thing you are but I think you have the wrong person. I think you should just return me home and I’ll forget this ever happened.” I giggled and began to turn away from him. In no time I felt his hands grip my shoulders and spin me around to face him.

“I’m not mistaken, my lady. You are who we have searched for within the last century.” He muttered with his eyes full of seriousness which made it impossible for me to look away. “You are the Wishmaker and we are your Granters. We will give you your every wish, unless it goes against the restrictions. There are very few wishes which cannot be granted, but those that cannot are quite obvious.” He said and all I could do was nod.

He continued to stare for a moment more and then was smiling once more. “Good, I cannot wait for the others to meet you. Well, I guess it’d be more like for us to find them because they have been lost. But enough of that for now, we should go get a room because you need your rest.” He cheerfully said and grabbed me by the hand, pulling me into the lobby.

He proved his whole Granter and Wishmaker thing shortly after we made it to our rooms. He had paid for two rooms for the night. The rooms were right next to each other so that if something were to happen we could leave immediately. But anyways, when we got to the rooms he followed in behind me.

“There’s no where we can actually eat right now and there really isn’t any place for you to get clothes. So try out some of your wishing powers.” He grinned. I slowly nodded my head, hoping that I could prove him wrong and just go home. Sadly, that was not the case.

I made a wish for a medium rare steak, a warm, just made chocolate cake, and a nice and ice-cold Monster. I then wished for a pair of my red skinny jeans and my favorite black shirt with random red designs all over it. Then to top it off I wished for my black tank top and black shorts for pajamas. It all appeared within seconds of the wish. The guy fell back against the wall and sank to the floor.

“That’s a lot of wishing you’ve done, my lady. I hope you don’t plan to do that every night, I don’t know if I have enough power to.” He huffed and then slowly pulled himself up. “But anyways, I’ll leave you with your food, my lady. If you need anything at all my name is Bane and I’ll come at your call. Good night, my lady.” He said and left me by myself.

I silently ate the food, barely touching the cake and leaving half of the steak and Monster. I silently dressed in the tank and shorts and crawled into the cold and uncomfortable bed. I hadn’t ever felt so alone before, not since the year after my parents had died. Yeah, I had lied about my parents worrying about me to him. My parents died three years ago in a plane crash.

The lights in the room were all off except for the light from the alarm clock sitting on the nightstand. I tossed and turned for probably an hour before I finally got out of bed. I quietly slipped out of my room and knocked softly on the door next to my own. The door opened after a moment and a pale light escaped from inside. Bane rubbed his eyes sleepily and yawned ‘what is it, my lady?’.

“Um… I feel alone in my room. Will you please stay there with me?” I whispered and looked down, trying to hide my embarrassment. He patted my head and then turned back inside. The light flickered off and he stepped out into the cool air with me. He just nodded and we slowly walked into my room.

The sound of someone else’s breathing put me at ease. The sound seemed to comfort me and soon the breathing turned into light snores. I chuckled under my breath and slowly drifted off into a very good sleep.

A/N: Ok so this entire story is based off of a dream I had like two days ago. I have written down everything that happened in the dream and am basing this story off of what happened. There will be many added things and things that are slightly changed but it should keep the main idea of the dream ^ ^ Also in the dream I was not the main girl(Laire). I was was just a spectator through most of it. There was only one or two parts I was actually involved in the story which when I come to that part in the chapter I will note xD Hope you like the story so far :)
