1 ALIEN BUILDING.
SHOT FROM ABOVE.
Rock formations, could be made from diamonds.
SHOT FROM GROUND LEVEL.
The alien building is the only building among the wild
lifeless wilderness of rocks. It is lit by rays of light
coming from the top.
Suddenly, a circular HOLE in the fabric of reality
appears. A MAN - 31, cruel, sadistic - walks out of it,
followed by 5 humans, all chained together.
A HUMAN SLAVE
Please! We’ve been walking all
Do not talk back to me!!
A WOMAN - 35, tough, fair - walks out from the building, to
Edith, I collected these specimens
Good work. I’ll take them from
One of the older of the five men cries out, grabs his chest,
and falls down, dying.
How hard have you been working
them, Marzak? He appears to be
having had a cardiac arrest.
(holding a laser)
Get up, you lazy creature!
ANOTHER HUMAN SLAVE
Please! He’s dying!
Well unfortunately for him we need
him alive. Since he will die
before we get him to the chamber,
there’s no use him wasting any more
Marzak fires the laser at the dying man, who is
The four remaining slaves stare at him in horror.
I’m off to look for more. I’d
suggest interrogating these people
first to find out the locations of
We must not damage them, they must
be in fit condition for initiation
into the chamber.
Well, don’t blame me when we don’t
have enough power for... him.
Do not mention him!
Forgive me. Goodbye.
Marzak steps through the hole. The hole then disappears.
A BRAVE SLAVE
Where are you taking us?
Just be thankful you’re still
alive. Now follow!
She tugs on the chain, forcing them to follow her into the
2 OPENING CREDITS.
3 INT. TARDIS.
THE AUTHOR, for once, is sitting on the seat, alone in the
JOHN enters from the library.
See any good books?
Not really... I spent an hour just
trying to find my way out of the
31st century historical section,
and another hour looking through
Authors who’s name begin with Gra.
It is a big library, yeah...
Come to think of it, why are you
called The Author, instead of
something like The Librarian? You
never write anything.
Don’t ask me! Maybe I did, before
my memories were taken. Anyway,
you don’t seem to be getting
anywhere looking through the
library, so how about we go and
experience a historical event first
Like what? Knowing The Tardis
it’ll take us to World War Two, or
the destruction of the dinosaurs.
You wouldn’t want to go there, it’s
more boring than it sounds. How
about I randomise the co-ordinates
I don’t see the difference it will
make, since The Tardis never goes
where you ask it to anyway.
He flicks several switches on the control panel, then
presses a bit red button.
Aha! It’s set the coordinates to
G832.5 Vectus 7 A2 0.00121!
And? Is it a planet, or a moon, or
Aha, this is brilliant! One of the
first human colonies in another
Galaxy! It’s very primitive, since
the First Human Galactic Civil War
has broken out at home, and they’ve
basically been forgotten about, but
incredible! Salvation, they named
Right. Now, you say primitive, and
Galactic Civil War... that doesn’t
sound as great as you make it seem.
Stop complaining, it’ll be
fine! And besides, we’ve proven
ourselves to be a good team in the
face of danger. Anyway, even if
there is danger, there’s no way it
will be on the scale of The Dolin
or The Asaecians.
Well, if you’re sure.
The Author pulls a lever, and the Tardis begins rattling and
Right now, we’re right in
Salvation’s capital settlement. I
wonder what we’ve landed as?
The Author walks out the Tardis.
John sighs, but follows him.
4 EXT. TARDIS. A ROCKY WASTELAND.
THE AUTHOR exits the Tardis, followed by JOHN. The Tardis
has materialised as a ROCK, or a RUIN.
There is a bit of plant life, but not much. But more
importantly, they are standing among RUINS.
Don’t tell me, we’ve landed in the
wrong place again!
He runs into the Tardis. Rolling his eyes, John follows.
5 INT. TARDIS.
THE AUTHOR runs in and checks the scanner.
JOHN stands by the door, looking a tad smug. But not too
No, this is definitely Salvation,
seventy years after human
colonisation. I don’t
understand... This planet does
become under attack, but not for
another four centuries! And even
then, no ruins were left in the
attack; all traces of civilisation
Then how do you explain that, out
I can’t. But there’s one way we
can find out!
It looked pretty deserted out there
if you ask me-
-So I don’t think we’ll find much
trouble. Come on!
The Author runs out of the Tardis. John follows him.
6 ROCKY WASTELAND.
A group of soldiers, all equipped with guns, run through the
Faster! We need to get to Base 7
But they stop. They can hear the sound of something being
SHOT MOVES TO A WOMAN.
The Woman moves slowly backwards, looking shocked.
It’s them. Run!!
The group run in the direction they came in.
The ripping noise is revealed to have come from where they
were standing. As if space is being ripped apart, a doorway
into another world is created where before was only air.
The doorway gets bigger, until it’s the size of a proper
door. MARZAK walks out of it, accompanied by 2 men.
Marzak and the 2 men run, chasing the warriors.
7 ANOTHER PART OF THE WASTELAND.
The soldiers run, but MARZAK and his men have caught up.
They all fire their guns.
Besides the WOMAN. She turns, and falls onto the rocks,
half conscious. Nobody notices.
Marzak holds up a shield which reflects all the bullets.
They stop firing.
Chaos. Besides the woman, the whole group of soldiers
scatter and run. But it does no good.
The 2 men have some futuristic lasers, and fire them at
everyone, who fall to the ground, paralysed. They don’t
notice the woman.
Two batches in two days... we’ll be
well paid tonight, boys!
They attach pads onto the paralysed people, then return and
walk through the HOLE. As they walk through it, the people
with pads are teleported away.
The HOLE then closes.
SHOT PANS DOWN TO WOMAN.
She looks up, almost having been awoken.
She loses consciousness and falls back down.
8 A DIFFERENT PART OF WASTELAND.
THE AUTHOR and JOHN are walking. The Author is buzzing the
SONIC DEVICE around.
I’m definitely picking up some
wavelengths, though they’re too
distorted to translate. They’re
simple enough to be human, however.
Author... I think you’re wrong.
About the history of this
planet. These ruins have been like
this for a long time; half of them
are decayed. This wasn’t just some
sudden disturbance of time.
Yes... I’d noticed that. It’s very
worrying. I don’t know what could
change time on this scale - besides
me. I wonder if... ?
The sonic device beeps loudly.
The wavelengths are definitely
human, and coming from... Over
The Author runs off in a direction. John follows,
exasperated... As usual.
9 HUMAN BASE. CONTROL ROOM.
There are only 2 people in the room, a MAN - 51, kind, smart
- and a WOMAN - 24, rough, secretly vulnerably.
They’re coming this way...
Hm... One of them is an extra
Can you identify which species? It
wouldn’t be one of... them, would
Of course not. Why would they take
it upon themselves to do their own
Even so, it’s humanoid, and
alien. It could be. And there’s a
human with him, possibly a slave.
Seal the buildings. Get the
machine guns ready for their
arrival, but not to fire unless
upon my order. Do you understand?
And also, has Squad 11 returned
Afterwards I suggest you lead a
search party. If you run into the
alien, scan it. If it’s one of
them, kill it.
THE AUTHOR and JOHN are walking towards the base. It is now
Lying on the rocks is a body of a woman.
The Author runs up to her.
She’s alive! But... in some sort
The woman suddenly wakes up.
Oh, hello! Can you hear me?
The woman nods.
Good, good... I’m the Author, and
this is John-
What’s your name?
The woman seems to struggle for words for a moment, but
eventually they come.
Right, May... What happened to you?
The Snatchers... They attacked...
Everything went black!
Who are the snatchers, May?
John points to above them. A search party with torches are
May? May, are you here?
May tries to pull herself up.
Gem!! Over here, Gem! Help me,
May is over here! Quickly!
The group of soldiers all run up to The Author, May and
John. They all shine their torches at them.
Yes, hello. Um, would you mind not
shining your torch in our eyes?
You don’t look like
snatchers. Scan them!
One of the men pulls out a scanner, and scans them.
No, we’re not snatchers!
(referring to John)
This one is human.
The man scans a nervous Author.
And this one is... Oh my...
It’s him!! It must be!!
The man drops the scanner, and runs.
Gem picks up the scanner, and reads it. She then pulls out
a gun and points it at the Author’s head.
I’m executing you for the crime of
kidnapping several thousand humans.
BANG. THE SHOT IS ON JOHN, AS THE BULLET IS FIRED.
The Author falls. Assumably dead.
Take him for interrogation, he is
The men grab John, and drag him away.
11 HUMAN BASE. INTERROGATION ROOM.
Who are you?
JOHN is tied to an electric chair. He cannot move. He is
in a severely weakened state.
My name... John Miller...
Are you from Salvation?
Where did they recruit you from?
John screams, being electrocuted.
WHERE DID THEY RECRUIT YOU FROM?
John screams some more.
The electrocution stops.
The lie detector states he’s
telling the truth.
Who was than man you were with?
Is he an alien?
Is he the alien behind the

John is released. He falls onto the floor.
Sorry about this. Get him a room,
he’ll need sleep.
12 WASTELAND. EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING, BUT LITTLE LIGHT.
MARZAK and his two men are wandering about.
I’ve detected a humanoid, just over
there. He is unconscious, and
close to death.
They rush over to The Author’s body.
Check his body.
Man 2 checks.
Impossible... He’s had a bullet
right through the heart, but he’s
still breathing, sir.
Through the heart, you say? It
Should we take him back to the Unit
Yes... He is on his way as we
speak, and might be interested.
Another hole in space is created. They pick up The Author’s
body, and carry him through it. It then closes.
13 HUMAN BASE. JOHN’S ROOM.
Light begins coming through the windows. But JOHN is busy.
He sneaks out the door, and goes to the center room. nobody
else is awake.
14 CENTER ROOM.
JOHN creeps to the outmost door, and goes outside.
15 EXT. HUMAN BASE.
JOHN walks along the rocky ground, to the wall and gate.
Where are you going?
John jumps, and darts around. May has followed him.
I’m going to find my friend. Are
you going to stop me?
Right... thanks. Do you know how
Can you open it for me?
May closes her eyes.
Pain awaits you. I hope you are
Such anguish you never deemed
possible. How it will torment you!
What are you doing... ?
I can see all that is, all that
was, and all that ever will
be. The Author faces his biggest
fight yet, but he is so
defenceless. And your palace of
wonders will soon be your biggest
threat. Don’t fear though, you
will always be there.
May opens her eyes.
But I am on your side.
She moves to the gate, and presses a button. The Gate
We will meet again.
John walks through the gate.
16 INT. ALIEN BUILDING. PRISON SECTOR. THE AUTHOR’S CELL.
THE AUTHOR is shoved into a prison room. He falls onto the
floor. The door is closed.
Agh... my heart...
He sits up.
I was nearly dead. I’ve never been
more thankful for my binary
(to whoever will listen)
So who are you? Why have you
brought me here?
You’ll have this room watched, I
know you can hear me!
17 ALIEN CONTROL ROOM.
HUMAN MAN 1
What do we do?
Nothing, for the moment. He is on
his way. He will analyse him.
HUMAN MAN 1
Why does he come now? For
fifty-one years this operation has
been going on, and apart from
checking up on us each decade, he
has never made an appearance.
It must mean the war is
progressing. They will need more
HUMAN MAN 1
But we cannot provide them with any
more! While we’ve given them time
to reproduce more units, we are
running out of colonies.
My fear is... he will provide us
technology to make jumps to the
Human Man 1 is shocked.
HUMAN MAN 1
But that’s our own people! We
could be kidnapping our own
Does it matter? We’re never going
to be seeing them again anyway!
An alarm goes off.
18 SALVATION, WASTELAND.
JOHN is walking, searching for the Author.
It all looks the same!
John ducks down behind a rock.
MARZAK and his 2 MEN are searching around. They then stop
by a rock/ruin.
Ahaha... his Tardis. That confirms
it then, we’ve captured a time
lord. He will be delighted.
John gasps quietly.
The men strap something to the Tardis, and it
disappears. They then both step through a HOLE in space.
John, without thinking, runs through the hole just before it
19 ALIEN PLANET - EXT. ALIEN BUILDING.
The TARDIS appears, followed by a HOLE. MARZAK and his 2
MEN walk through the hole.
If we’re not promoted, it’ll be a
crime against humanity! Come on
boys, let’s go and claim our
JOHN falls through the hole, and lands on the
ground. Immediately the 3 hold up disintegrators at him.
WHO ARE YOU?
John puts his hands up.
That might be a bit difficult to
20 SALVATION. INT. HUMAN BASE.
GEM walks through the MAIN ROOM, having just woken
up. GRAWMAN is already there.
Hello. Any news?
None. Have you seen May at all
No, why? Is she missing?
I ain’t seen her, and her bedroom
No! I told you we should have
confined her, she’s getting worse!
Don’t panic! We should be able to
do a scan on psychic waves, which
will detect her.
Right! I’ll start on that
Gem runs into another room.
21 SCANNING ROOM.
Gem runs in, and wastes no time starting a scan. Another
MAN is in there already.
What are you doing?
May’s gone missing!
Gem pulls a lever. The results come in.
600 meters westward!
She grabs a gun, and charges out of the building.
22 SALVATION. WASTELAND.
MAY is wandering about, absent minded. Or appearing to be
Death. Death. The irony of
Salvation. No more, no more...
She turns around.
The Author is in for a surprise. I
pity John, he will suffer most of
all. But now he is here, events
are moving faster.
Gem has caught up, and runs to her.
Why have you come here now?
I’ve been looking for you! Why did
It is... required, if the desired
path is to be taken.
May sits down cross legged, ignoring Gem. She closes her
eyes and puts her hands on the opposite shoulder.
Open. Open. Open. Move apart
And in front of them, a HOLE in space appears. Gem gasps.
What is that!?
It’s a primitive wormhole, reaching
out to a planet in another
Galaxy. Come with me.
May steps through the HOLE. Gem follows. The HOLE then
23 ALIEN PLANET. INT. BUILDING. CORRIDOR.
JOHN is shoved down a corridor.
Where are you taking me?
That is none of your
concern! Well, I suppose it is
actually. But you’ll find out soon
24 A MASSIVE CHAMBER.
Almost identical to the one in New Earth. There are doors
everywhere. Or rather, storage containers.
What is this... ?
You will be put into peace.
What do you mean?
As I said, you will find out!
They reach a door. Marzak pulls it open.
Get him in there.
John is scared.
25 PRISON SECTOR. THE AUTHOR’S CELL.
The Author is reading a book from memory. His eyes are

What is your name, Time Lord?
The Author opens his eyes.
I was just getting to the good
bit. Call me The Author.
You must be a Time-Lord; you have a
similar name to him.
And who is this ’him’?
Why don’t you see for yourself? He
will be arriving any minute. GET
The Author obeys.
Is he a Time Lord?
Then I most look forward to meeting
They exit the room.
26 SALVATION. HUMAN BASE. MAIN ROOM.
GRAWMAN is sitting in thought.
Any sign of Gem or May?
What are they playing at?
27 EXT. ALIEN BASE.
GEM and MAY walk through the HOLE. It then disappears.
How did you do that?
I do not know. I may be gifted. I
hope The Author can explain.
You always were the weird one...
Your life is about to change. Make
the most of what you experience,
Where are we?
A planet in Humanity’s home galaxy,
called Omega 9. They aren’t as
imaginative as humans.
The Time Lords. They created this
colony... This laboratory.
Is he a time lord?
Why are they kidnapping our people?
It’s not just us. All the colonies
in this galaxy are being
attacked. I do not know why
yet. Follow me, I have been told
of a way inside.
They walk around the building.
28 INT. ALIEN BUILDING. TELEPORTATION ROOM.
THE AUTHOR is led in by EDITH.
Aha, a teleportation room. But I’d
have thought he would be travelling
by Tardis, no?
He considers it too dangerous, in
case it falls into the wrong
hands. You could take a leaf out
of his book.
What do you mean?
We’ve captured your Tardis. It was
just sitting there in the middle of
The Author curses himself for being so stupid.
Also, you have a friend, yes?
What have you done to him?
See for yourself.
A screen switches on. It shows the MASSIVE CHAMBER.
29 MASSIVE CHAMBER.
SHOT OF JOHN IN HIS CELL.
What’s going on?
SHOT MOVES TO OUTSIDE.
You are being permanently
anesthetised. I hope you enjoy
your sleep, for you won’t wake up
He presses a button. The inside of John’s cell lights up,
and a static sound can be heard. John screams.
30 TELEPORTATION ROOM.
31 MASSIVE CHAMBER.
The light, static and screaming stop.
Specimen 6690 introduced
successfully. I will return.
32 TELEPORTATION ROOM.
What have you done to him?
You will find out. He arrives!
A blinding light comes from the other side of the
room. Then, suddenly... It’s THE EXPERIMENTER.
I hear you have captured a Time
The light disappears. He walks into the room. He sees the
Author, and is shocked. Shocked and pleased.
Well well well... It’s none other
than The Author.
Who are you?
Of course, you won’t remember
me. I am The Experimenter. I
don’t intend to let you escape
He pulls out a PARALYSING GUN, and uses it on the Author,
who falls onto the ground. He stares at The Experimenter in
fear and fury.
Oh, that glare could kill. How can
I live with myself? Oh, wait.
He takes off his robe, and throws it over The Author.
Much better. Now, get to work, at
100,000,000% efficiency. By the
end of the day I want every human
in there completely extracted.
But it’ll overload the systems!
They won’t be needed after
this. You heard me! Let the human
