Now, as soon as I said that, I was knocked out cold. I swear to God, that’s like a gag for me. Every time I do something surprising or get surprised, I get knocked out. If this keeps up, I’m just gonna start having to be predictable. When I awoke, I was in a padded room with glass walls. I walked and pressed my body against the glass to see if it was actually glass and not plastic. One’s easier to break than the other. I need to know before I throw a chair and it doesn’t work. I’d feel pretty stupid. Through those walls, I saw your typical, really cliché scientist walking around with clipboards, grey hair, long, white lab coats, glasses, some of them, and they had pocket protectors. I mean, this is just so hilarious. Bet they barely say something. Unless there’s an emergency or someone asks them something.

I heard chains rattling behind me and on the reflective plastic, it was plastic by the way, I saw this girl in white pajamas and a white shirt. She was extremely skinny and extremely pale. I’m talking “Twilight” pale. Her hair covered her face like a curtain, but I could see the little drops of blood drip from her mouth like a runny faucet. I heard whimpers and sounds of crying coming from her, but I know what she is. I immediately turned around and screamed.

“What the fuck?!” I screamed as I hit the plastic with my hands, ramming it with my shoulder, hoping it’ll break. It didn’t. The scientists started to scurry around like a bunch of frightened rats. Only one of them came to the window.

“What’s wrong?!” He asked me, beads of sweat trailed down from his forehead to his grey “Monopoly” moustache.

“What the FUCK?!” I pointed at the zombie behind me. I looked back and she slowly rose to her feet and stood in the very creepy fashion. She was staring at the padded floor.

“No, don’t worry. She’s chained to the concrete behind her. That’s the only area of the room that’s not padded.” That was not reassuring. Did he not know that these zombies get stronger?! He walked off. I hit the glass a few more times.

“Where the hell are you going?! Let me out!” He completely ignored me and everyone else started resuming their normal activities. The chains rattled some more. I looked over at her and when I made eye contact with her, she screeched like a banshee and stretched out her long, razor sharp nails at me. Her eyes were bright yellow and that’s when it hit me. “Oh my God, I’m gonna die.” This particular zombie is a breed known as “The Witch” from the game series Left 4 Dead. She only wishes to be left alone and will only attack when you fuck with her or when you make too much noise and mess with her. And she’s fucking relentless. She only goes after who mainly fucked with her and will go through anybody to get to him. And I startled the Witch. I am so dead. So fucking dead. You know what? Now that I think about it, there was that one chainsaw Zombie from resident Evil 5. He was also here, but at Munchies. And that one that fell from the ceiling… he was also from Left 4 Dead. What the shit is going on here?!

“You’re probably wondering what’s going on.” A voice from behind me said. I turned around and it was the girl from the ship. I swear to God, when I get out of here, I’m gonna oh my god, she’s so fucking sexy. She was wearing this silver, skintight leather suit that had pistols on the side of both her thighs and she had long, black hair. She had a little horizontal, small but noticeable, scar under her right eye and she had on black lipstick. Her eyes were two pools of blue. She did not match as a whole, but whatever. She is gorgeous. “I’ll explain it all to you. It’s our fault.” She began. “We were trying to create the perfect weapon, but something happened. A miscalculation on our part. It’s a bioweapon where—”

“NO NO NO NO! I am NOT fighting any bioweapons! Hell naw!”

“If you would just listen, I can explain—”

“Can I ask you a question? Have you ever played any of the ‘Resident Evil’s? Because if you have, you’d understand my reluctance. I am not going out there fighting any lickers, nothing with tentacles, nothing with an bulbousness, nothing with big muscles and sharp limbs, and I damn sure ain’t fighting Nemesis! I am sorry, but if I knew what you really wanted, I would’ve jumped off of the ship mid-flight.”

“Riker, there’s something you need to see.” The glass window opened and I walked over the threshold. The chains rattled as I left and the Witch broke free from her prison, but the plastic glass closed before she got through and clawed my face off. I mocked her as she clawed the glass; the sound was like nails on a chalkboard. “Riker!” She called back to me and I followed her into this room where there was nothing but darkness. Soon, the lights illuminated the place and there was a cage. In that cage was a little, black girl who had bloody clothes and she was kneeled in a corner. Hey, wait, that’s Amari! I ran over to her cage.
“Amari! It’s me!” She looked up and turned her head and I almost died. My heart just stopped beating altogether. I held my chest, heartbroken and depressed. “No… Not Amari.” Her eyes were pale yellow and her face was decaying rapidly. Her body still looked the same. No decaying. No nothing.

“I’m sorry. We found your friends, but it was too late to save her.” She placed a hand on my shoulder, but I knocked it off of her. “Riker, maybe you’ll help us find a cure.”

“A cure. A CURE?!” I punched her square in the face. She flew off of her feet and landed on her back. She sat up, wiping blood from her lip. “If it weren’t for you, none of this would’ve even happened! You and your ‘experiments’.” Angrily, I walked past her and left the room. When I left the room, I was greeted by David and my other friends.

“Holy cock, you’re alive.” Ariana said. She ran and hugged me. I hugged her back, but we stopped hugging because we don’t see each other that way.

“How are you even alive?” David asked me.

“I don’t know. Puberty?” I responded.

“Riker…” Ariana said. “About Amari.”

“I know already.” Inside, there was seething hatred for Ariana. I didn’t expect her to condemn my sister to a life as a mindless cannibal, but I didn’t not expect it either. She hates kids. “But apparently, we can cure the rest of the world if we just go out and find the cure and stuff.”

“Um, okay.” David said. “Where do we go?”

I shrugged. “I don’t know.” I looked at Kyra. “How are you feeling?”

“I’ll manage.” She responded. She flashed me a smile. I smiled a bit. It was nice to see them all together and the new girl. I cannot grieve for anyone yet. I have to find that cure. And fast. Maybe I can still save Amari.
