A/N: Yes, I am starting a new Novel! And yes, the other Novels are still going to be updated (: I really hope you guys like this one, its really emotional, and sometimes hard to write.

Chapter One:

"Excuse me?"

I look up from the book I'm reading. A girl, maybe 15, is standing in front of the counter. A small box held in her hand. Her face looks dull, and sickly. Her hair is thin, and faiding. She looks as if she has recently been loosing a lot of weight.

"Hi, how can I help you?" I smile.

She smiles, but only faintly. "This necklace was given to me by my grandmother, right before she passed. I have worn it every day since. Last week I was walking home from-" She sighed. "Anyways, I stopped to get a cup of coffee, and when I got home I realized the necklace wasnt around my neck anymore. I found it outside, and everything was broken."

"You want me to fix it?" I asked.

She nodded, and then placed the box onto the counter. She gave it a light push, and it went sliding across the counter stopping right infront of my hand. I wrapped my hand around the lid, and pulled it off. Inside was what used to be a very old necklace. The beads, and chains were thrown all over, and the charm was in pieces.

"I don't even know if I got all the pieces, but I'm willing to pay anything to get this fixed."

I thought about it for a moment. It would be extreamly hard, but possible. "I don't know how long it will take, but I think I can do it."

"Thank you, Thank you!" She clapped her fragile hands together. "Is it okay if I stop by in a few days to see how its going along?"

"You can stop by anytime you want." I smiled.

She pulled out a small crumpled piece of paper, and handed it to me. "If you have any questions, just contact me with this number."

She then walked out the door, the bell jingling behind her. I unfolded the paper.

 Joseph's  Cancer Center

Line: 654

Ask for Sophie.

Days passed, and Sophie hadn't stopped by. Maybe I should call after work. The bell jingled, and I looked up from the dress I was sewing. It was a man. Men never really come in here, unless it's for their girlfriend.

"Hi." I stood up, and brushed the dust off my legs. "How can I help you?"

He rolled his eyes, as they passed from dress to dress. "I'm here for a necklace."

"What's your name?"

I flipped through the book for repairs. Nothing under Alex. "There's nothing under Alex."

He laughed, but not a pleasent laugh. "I know that. It's under Sophie."

"Oh." I blushed slightly. "It's not done yet."

He got up, and fingered the the material of one of the dresses hanging on the wall. I watched him closely as he walked around.

"Is she okay?" I had to know.

He turned to face me, no emotion in his face. "She has Cancer, do you think she's okay?"

"That's not what I ment-"

"Can you just tell her that I'm going to call later? I have a question about the-"

"Yeah whatever." He let go of the dress he was holding, and it fell to the floor. The hanger breaking in half. I gasped, and then watched at he walked out the door. I watched him walk a few steps, and then light a cigarette. He then continues to walk away.

I walked over to the dress, and picked it up. It wasn't damaged. The hanger was snapped in half. With the dress still in my hand, I walked back to the counter. I pulled a hanger out of the box behind the computer. I hung up the dress, and then closed up the shop. I needed to ask Sophie about the necklace.

I quickly walked home. As soon as I got into my apartment, I threw my bag onto the floor, and walked into the kitchen. The paper Sophie gave me still sitting on the table. I picked it up, and dialed the number.

"Hello?" It was Alex.

"May I speak to Sophie?"

"She can't speak right now."

The line went dead. His arrogant tone was flaring through my mind right now. "Of course she's not okay, she has cancer."

I picked up the box, and opened it. The mess of a necklace staring back at me. How am I going to fix this?

Hey guys! Short first chapter, I know I'm sorry :(  I'm trying to find a picture of the necklace I want to use, but I can't find one :/ Just hang ten, I can find one.

Also, The song for this chapter:
