I woke to the sound of an annoying loud ringing noise. I was laying in Wes’s arms as he slept but the ringing didn’t stop. I threw the covers off of me and I was entirely naked. My clothes were in the floor on the side of the bed and I grabbed them up quickly. Wes hadn’t even moved as I got up and got dressed. The ringing was in the pocket of my pants and I pulled out the cell phone. Sam must have slipped it to me since I destroyed my previous one.

The caller was unknown and there was no number so I hesitated to answer. “Hello,” I said as I decided to put the phone to my ear.

“Nice to hear from you again Rain,” The voice made me stand still.

How did she get my number?

“Kacie,” I asked in slight shock.

“Correct, how have you been since you left school,” she asked and I didn’t answer right away.

“Um, how did you get this number,” I asked and her high pitch laugh filled the weird silence.

“My father told me of course, it’s all a part of his big plan,” she said and I still was baffled.

“Father,” I asked. “I thought your father left when you were born, you didn’t know your father,” I asked and I could hear her smirk.

“I didn’t until recently,” she said. “Brent showed up and explained everything a while back ago, at first I didn’t believe him but now it is all very clear,” she said and in the back ground I could hear a muffled voice.

Brent was her father, it couldn’t be the same person.

“I know what you are Rain,” she said bluntly. “You are a murder and a monster,” she hissed into the phone. “I always knew there was something horribly wrong with you, you were always a freak, and now you will pay for it,” she said and I could finally hear the muffled voice in the background clearly.

“Rain, don’t listen to her. She’s lost her mind and if you come here they will hurt you.” It was Scarlet. My fist tighten and I started to become angry. This was a low blow and now my best friend was in trouble.

“Darn it looks like your buddy is here and if you don’t hurry something might happen to her,” she said in a voice so nasty it made me wasn’t to ripe out her tongue.

“If you or anyone touch a single hair on her head I will kill every last one of you,” I hissed into the phone.

“Damn looks like we are already dead men walking then,” she said sounding amused. I growled and I could hear her laughing.

“Kacie, I will see you soon,” I said to her in a soft voice. I didn’t hang up the phone but instead broke it into pieces in my hand. I hadn’t heard Wes get up and I was pacing until he held me still from behind.

“What happened,” he asked and I could tell that he already knew the answer from my actions.

“Brent, we have to stop him now, there is no more time. He has Scarlet,” I said and he turned me to him.

“Your human friend,” he asked.

“Yes, even though I am the vampire goddess doesn’t mean that this life that I was living wasn’t real, it is still me and she is still my best friend. Those feelings didn’t change when I regained my memories and abilities,” I said and he gave me a soft nod.

“I never assumed that to be the issue,” he said and I looked at him finally. It was the first time I had really looked at him since what happened. We were now together forever.

“If they hurt her I will kill every one of them before they have a chance to respond,” I said in a harsh venomous voice.

“Then let’s get there before they have the chance,” he said and I smiled. Even though he was now a demon he didn’t look like a monster like the rest of them.

He took my hand into his and held it to his lips. As I was looking at him I hadn’t realized that the image around us had changed. We were no longer in my room but now standing outside of a very large warehouse. I rose one of my eyebrows at him.

“You sure do have a lot of tricks up your sleeves,” I said to him and he shrugged slightly.

“I only did it for you,” he said to me and I examined the building. There were demons and vampires guarding the outside so I knew there was something important inside the warehouse. Probably Brent and Kacie both. There looked to be at least two different entrances but they were both heavily guarded.

I could control the vampires but it would defiantly be a fight between us and the demons. “Are you ready,” I asked him and he gave me a nod. We walked forward until they took notice and the vampires were first. They were the fastest but I held my hand up in the air. They all started to slow down and soon all of them were on their knees looking up at me.

“I could get used to this,” I said so that Wes could only hear me and I could see the small smile that crossed his lips. I then turned to the vampires and some of them just gazed at me in awe.

“No more of this war, you are not made for battle but to love one another,” I said to them and one grew the confidence to stand. He was in front of me and Wes took this as a threat and kept his guard up.

“We are tired of being in the shadows, we are superior to all humans and we deserve to take that place,” he said boldly.

“You are not superior then anyone, maybe you do have speed and strength but here you are being ruled by a human.” I said and he hesitated.

“Yes but he is the one to get through to the other humans, to put us on top,” I shook my head in disappointment.

“If you believe that then you don’t deserve your gift,” I said and in speed even faster than theirs I had him facing the rest of them and my fangs out near his neck.

“I gave all of you the gift of immortality and you do this,” I asked them in a harsh shout. I bit into his neck the same way I had when I changed my first vampires but this time he was no longer a vampire. A human stood there and the others were in utter shock. “Anyone else,” I asked and everyone stayed quiet.

“You are real,” I heard someone say and I gave a small smile.

“Yes I am and I am also here for your help, the man inside is a monster and he doesn’t want to help you. He wasn’t to destroy my children, all of you.” Many of them looked shocked as I spoke and they looked at one another. “You are not meant for what you thought, you were given a second chance at life and that is a vampires secret to keep. This was never a curse, it was meant to be a blessing,” I said to them.

“What do you want us to do,” Someone asked.

“Keep the demons busy so that we can make it inside and end this,” I said and they all nodded which meant it was time for us to make our way inside.

They took off and in seconds the front entrance was now deserted. “That was smart,” Wes said and I gave him a wink.

“I didn’t know if it was going to work honestly,” I said and this made him give me a look. “Oh don’t look at me like that, if it didn’t work I’m sure you could have taken them. I am pretty tough to you know,” I said and this took away his stern look.

I opened the large metal door and it made a loud creaking noise as it opened. There was absolutely no one inside waiting to rip us into pieces which was surprising. I stopped to listen until I could hear Kacie’s annoyingly high pitched laugh and her nasty voice. She was only human so she wouldn’t even hear us coming. We walked along a long hallway passing many empty rooms until we were just outside of the one she was holding Scarlet in.

I grabbed Kacie with my fangs out and ready to kill if I had to, she screamed in fear and I could feel her small body trembling under my grasp. Star was tied up to a chair and one of her eyes were blackened. Her mouth was tapped shut so she couldn’t speak either. Rage filled my entire existence, and I told Wes to make sure that none of the demons could interrupt so we were all alone.

“Brent I know you are in here and you can come out,” I yelled in a hiss and soon he came from behind a bunch of equipment.

“You seem different,” he said to me as if he was amused.

“I told you guys not to hurt Scarlet,” I growled.

“I don’t take orders from anyone Rain, too bad you couldn’t be on my side in this,” he said with a smirk.

“If you don’t let her free and stop this madness I will kill your daughter,” I said in a venomous growl and Kacie whimpered in my arms.

“Go ahead,” he said and I was shocked.

“W-what. Father you can’t let her kill me,” she yelled at him and he shrugged.

“Kill her, she was my pawn and her job is done. You are here and that is what I wanted,” he said in a harsh tone.

“You bastard!” She yelled. I tossed her aside and looked at her. She looked at me with fear in her eyes and I looked back.

“Leave, this is not your battle,” I said to her and she stumbled to get up. As she left I looked back at Brent. “This is between me and you,” I glared and stepped forward. “How could you want to kill your own daughter,” I said and he shrugged again.

“She’s a powerless human having her would just get in the way,” he said. “Having you would not only have been benefiting but I would be powerful,” he said with a smile.

“So this is what this is about. It’s not only to get rid of vampires but to make yourself the most powerful,” I said with my hands in fists.

“You control the vampires and the demons even fear you. That kind of power would make me unstoppable, but you wouldn’t work with me so I had to get rid of you,” he said leaning against the wall with his arms crossed.

“Well your plan failed,” I said to him with a slight smile.

I looked to my right to see someone fly through the wall and crash into a bunch of heavy metal as some of the debris fell on top of them. The person that had caused the giant hole in the wall walked through. He was a tall bulky man and I could see through his human form. He was a demon and from the look of it he was a powerful one. His eyes were red and his face was firm and a little terrifying.

“Not quite darling,” Brent said as I realized that Wes was the one that got knocked through the wall.
