Blackness surrounded me as I examined the rest of the area. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I spun around to have someone standing directly in my face. I gasped and stumbled back.

The man standing in front of me stared at me blankly causing my blood to freeze. A mask covered the upper left half of his face. His eye was completely hidden but the one that I was able to see was the color of crimson blood. It wasn’t the same as a vampire and it looked permanent. His skin was white and absolutely perfect even putting the flawlessness of a vampire to shame. He had hair that hung down to his shoulders and fell in front of his face. He was tall and very slender, if there was any muscle on him it was hidden beneath his large black robe. He stood over me as if a reaper ready to possess a lost soul.

He held his hand out to me and I looked at his white slender fingers. On the side of his hand was red symbols that I had never seen before. He didn’t speak a word but held his hand out to me and stared at me, but there was something about this stranger that didn’t cause me to shiver in fright. I slid my hand into his and he helped me recover from my fall still showing no kind of emotion what so ever.

He wasn’t as tall now that I was back on my feet but he still had some inches on me. His breathing was calm and I couldn’t help but wonder why he was here.

“Thank you for helping me up,” I said and like before, nothing changed.

“Do not thank me,” he said flatly and his voice was deep. It was the sexiest thing I had ever heard. If I wasn’t a vampire my heart would be racing so fast that it would probably have killed me. I kept my thoughts and emotions to myself.

“My name is…” I started to say but he spoke over me.

“Rain,” he simple said and I rose my brow in confusion. “My name is Wes,” he also added before I had a chance to ask.

“Well hello Wes, it’s very nice to meet you,” I said and he slightly nodded his head. It was the most action I had seen from him other than helping me stand. “So where are we,” I asked.

“Your head.”

“So you are saying that I am imagining you,” I asked and he looked into my eyes. I felt like I could melt under his intense stare. It was a lot more intense then Sam’s. I could feel the butterflies stirring up in the pit of my stomach.

It had to be true because only I could imagine such a god.

“I am not a part of your imagination, I am real,” he spoke flatly.

“How did you get in my head and why are you here,” I asked and ran my hand through my hair trying to figure things out.

“I can travel through people’s minds while they are asleep,” he answered and I could feel the tension between us start to lighten up.

“First off that is really creepy, and secondly you didn’t answer my other question,” I said and he didn’t seem to hesitate on answering me.

“Because you are my bride,” he answered and my mouth dropped.

Bride!

“And what on earth possess you to believe something like that,” I demanded.

“My blood runs through your veins,” he said but I could tell he wasn’t finished. “It was destined for you to become my bride since the beginning of time.” He finally finished.

“Your blood, destiny. This is all very confusing,” I said rubbing my left temple.

“I am the demon whose blood you have within you,” he said blankly before returning that intense gaze.

He lifted his arm upward and the large robe fell to his elbow revealing more of those symbols. This time they didn’t look like a bunch of random marks. I could understand what was written on him. He dropped his arm down to his side before I had a chance to read anything other than my name.

Why was my name there?

He took a step closer to me but I stood my ground. “Are you scared of me,” he asked me and I gave a half smile.

“You have to do more than use words to scare me,” I said but this didn’t make him smile.

“You are standing in front of the most powerful demon in the entire world and you dare not run.” He said and I could feel his breath brush my cheek. His scent was very delightful, like a fresh ocean breeze.

“Well since you put it that way, I think that if I had something to fear from you then you would have hurt me by now.” I responded softly.

“I will see you soon,” he said and he placed his hand against my forehead.

My eyes fluttered open but I wasn’t in bed. I couldn’t remember the dream I had before waking but I knew there was something about it that caused chills down my spine. I looked around and gasped in horror. The moon shone down on me and there were dead bodies everywhere. I was holding a young girl in my arms and her lifeless body was drained of blood. I dropped her to the ground in shock. There was more than 15 lifeless corpse lying around me and my entire body was covered in blood, but this blood couldn’t be from these bodies. I had to have gotten it from somewhere else. The thought of blood being from somewhere other than this already gruesome scene frightened me.

I looked down and a marking I had never seen before was placed on my forearm. It didn’t seem finished and I couldn’t read it. I ignored it and focused on the bigger problem that was on hand.

Where the hell is Sam?

I was in some kind of deserted area and I kept looking around in desperate need to figure out where I was. I heard movement in the distance behind me and I turned to find Sam walking towards me.

“What happened,” he asked me and I looked at him in horror.

“I don’t know. I woke up like this,” I said and he examined the people.

“I woke up and you were gone. You left during day light, I don’t know how you aren’t burnt to a crisp.” He said and I could hear the concern in his voice. A whooshing sound filled the air and I looked up to see what could have possible made this noise. Large silky looking black wings held up the familiar looking stranger. He landed in front of me and I felt like I was seeing Deja-vu.

“I told you I would see you again,” he said in a flat deep voice. As he spoke Sam instantly reacted. He kneeled down and bowed towards the slender man. His crimson eyes pierced into me and I felt like I might collapse, but I fought against it. I was confused and kept looking back and forth between the two. “I can see that you are starting to awaken.” He said.

“Who are you,” I said and he lifted his hand, his robe fell down slightly and I could see the same symbols that I started to develop. My eyes widened as I started remembering the dream. His name was Wes and I was supposed to be his bride. He put his hand down and I looked at him. This time I wasn’t confused on why he looked so familiar. The mask was still in place and so was that large oversized black robe. There was no question about him being a demon though.

“Your appearance isn’t quite the way you imagine in your head. You don’t give yourself enough credit.” He complimented me and I would have blushed if I could. Wes wasn’t this way when he appeared in my dream. He was quiet and hard.

“And you look exactly the same,” I responded. He was still emotionless. “You weren’t kidding when you said you would be seeing me soon,” I said and he nodded.

“I have waited far too long to continue this tiresome scandal,” he said and for the first time he gave the tiniest bit of a grin. It didn’t last long but it nearly knocked me to my knees.

“I am just a girl, I don’t know what is so special about me that a demon lord would want to claim me for a bride,” I said.

“That’s because you don’t remember,” he said to me.

“What is there to remember, I grew up here and lived in the same home my entire life. Then I discovered that I was meant to lead some kind of vampire army,” I said and he placed his hand on my shoulder. His touch caused me to silence my random babbling.

“You are beginning to awaken, then it will all come clear to you,” he said and I looked into his one eye.

“Why do you were that mask,” I asked. This took his for surprise and he looked at me more closely.

“You can see it,” he asked and I nodded in confusion. I don’t know how anyone couldn’t see it. He took a step back and turned away from me. “That will be answered in time,” he said and I watched him suspiciously.

“Why did I kill all these people,” I asked remembering the dead bodies surrounding us.

“Because your mind is fighting the block that is held up inside your head,” he said still not facing me.

“How do I get it to go away,” I asked him and he finally turned towards me.

“That is a vampires secret. You will discover how deep within yourself, but until then I will be waiting.” He said before he flew into the sky and disappeared.

Wait... I thought she was supposed to be Sam's girlfriend? So is the demon dude okay with his "bride" sleeping with Sam? And clearly Sam knew him, or at least of him, 'cause he bowed to the ground... Unless it was Sam's venom, and Wes' blood that created her, so she belongs to both of them somehow. Either way... yeah I wanna know so keep me updated and please write as brain speed. Oh, and I am "fan"ning you. ;)
