I turned to Sam after Wes left and he was back on his feet. They must have known each other to have bowed to him like that. He did mention that he was the most powerful demon in the world so that could be just a reaction out of respect.

“What was that about,” I asked and he rose an eyebrow at me.

“What do you mean,” he asked in confusion and I pointed to where Wes was just standing.

“That,” he still shook his head in confusion. I huffed a breath in frustration.

“Wes, you bowed to him like you know him.” I said and the confusion only began to grow.

“There was no one here and I most defiantly wouldn’t have been bowing to anyone,” he said crossing his arms and looking me over in concern. “Did you hit your head or something,” he said and I growled in frustration.

Looks like I’m on my own with this.

He directed me back to his home and I gladly left him with my mess. There were too many things running through my head and I couldn’t figure it all out. This demon said that I was his bride and that I was awakening, but what does that mean. Are there memories that I don’t know about, or maybe an entire life that I don’t remember. At this point I can’t take anything for granted. I just wish I knew how to figure all this out. How is Sam going to react if he found out that I am supposed to be another man’s bride? Doubt it matters because he is pretending that all that happened was some kind of mental game I was playing, but I knew what I witnessed was real. Wes is real.

I sighed deeply and rubbed my head as I continued to walk. The breeze was nice against my skin and it helped my head clear out some of its random thoughts. I am supposed to find something deep within myself that will break down some mental wall. Maybe turning into a vampire wasn’t a coincident. He said that it was a vampire’s secret that would find the way to do it, and according to Sam I was always meant to be a vampire. I just don’t understand how this is all connected. Maybe it was Brent who used Wes’s blood and a vampire’s venom to create me, which would explain his blood running through my veins.

I tried to think back my entire life and came up empty. I can’t remember a time that I felt like I was missing any part of my life. As if a memory was suppressed. My thoughts were overwhelming me and I didn’t realize that I had walked off into a different direction. Someone came behind me and held me tight. I struggled to escape their extremely tight grip. I felt the person’s breath against my throat as he spoke.

“You have been way more trouble then you are worth,” he hissed into my ear. I yanked and struggled to free myself but it was no use. Something was wrapped around my hands and it burned like acid. I hissed at the stranger in response.

“If you are good this won’t have to hurt any more than it already will,” he said and before I had a chance to respond I was out cold.

I woke up weak and leaned up a damp stone wall. I looked around to find bars keeping me on the inside of this room. I tried to move and found my hands chained together and another around my neck. That burning feeling returned every time I decided to move. The chains were cutting into my skin and whatever they put on the chains had burned though causing me to bleed. From the feel of the one around my neck it was doing the same thing.

I was in absolute darkness and silence. It was maddening. I took in my surrounding the best that I could with little movement. I was in some kind of a cell in what looked like maybe an abandoned police station. My arrangements must have been recently added to the cell room to keep me contained.

I hit my head against the wall behind me in frustration. This was probably Brent’s doing, that manipulative bastard. I huffed in irritation. All because he wanted to make vampires the top of the list, which doesn’t make any since because he is human. If he thinks that he is going to be able to control an entire world full of vampires he must have a death wish.

I closed my eyes in utter defeat, there was no way I was going to get out of here right now. I stayed this way for what felt like hours before I heard someone enter the room and their footsteps drew closer. I didn’t look up but instead stayed calm and giving them no attention. He cleared his throat and I looked at him lazily not acting amused. It wasn’t Brent but instead a vampire that probably followed him. His arms were crossed and he was glaring at me.

“You interrupted my nap,” I let the words roll off of my tongue as if being kidnapped didn’t bother me.

“You won’t be so cocky when he shows up,” he hissed and I gave him a smile. He ignored my smile and I went back to closing my eyes. I heard someone else walking towards us and soon the vampire left, leaving me with whoever ‘he’ was.

“If you expect me to beg for my life, or say that I’ll do whatever you want as long as you don’t hurt me then you’ve got another thing coming,” I said before he had a chance to talk. I could hear a small snicker escape from him.

“You are quite a feisty one aren’t you,” his deep voice boomed through the entire room. I finally opened my eyes and looked at him.

He was a very white thin looking man. His hair was blonde and curly. His blue eyes shone bright through the darkness. He was most defiantly a vampire and a very old one considering the clothes he was wearing. He only looked about 20 and he held himself as if he was of great importance. He kept his arms crossed but he kept a warm smile on his face.

“I wouldn’t say that I was feisty, more that I am not amused,” I said and turned back to closing my eyes.

“Well let’s get those nasty chains off of you so that you can heal,” he said and I could hear the cell door open with a loud annoying squeak. I opened my eyes and he was kneeled down in front of me removing the chains. It stung but that soon went away after they were gone. He had gloves on so that they wouldn’t burn him the same way they did me. “I will remove the one from your neck as long as you don’t try to run off,” he said as he paused at my neck.

“Yea, yea. I know how kidnapping works. Plus what choice do I really have,” I said as he took it off. My skin didn’t take long to heal and I was on my feet stretching out all the stiffness from sitting on the hard floor for so long. “So what do you want,” I asked him bluntly.

“I don’t want anything,” he said and I crossed my arms.

“You kidnap me and then hold me in here with chains that burned the living hell out of me for nothing, damn that’s worse than wanting something,” I said and this made him laugh. At least he had some kind of humor.

“There was a rumor that a vampire was made and I can see that the rumor is true, I just want to talk with you Miss Harper,” he said and I shrugged.

“Yea, what is so interesting about that,” I asked and this made him smile more.

“According to rumors also, you are the one that was created from our apparent win over the world. I just wanted to see what you felt about this,” he said.

“Well I don’t want to be a part of any type of world domination on any race, creature, thing, or whatever,” I answered and he nodded not seeming upset.

“That is very good to hear. I am the vampire king and we like where we are on this world. Exposing us to the entire world would cause wars between us and humans. Some humans do know that we are out here and we like to keep it that way,” he said and I could hear the satisfaction in his voice.

“You are the king,” I asked knowing that it was a stupid question because he had just said that. “Could you maybe answer a question for me,” I asked.

“Knowing that you are on our side, I will do anything you want,” he said and I smiled.

“I met someone recently and he told me that I was awakening, but to fully break down a wall in my head I had to discover some kind of vampire’s secret within me. You are a vampire and have been here a long time. Maybe you know what it means,” I said.

“Who is this person,” he said and his entire attitude changed. He wasn’t the smiling nice vampire but now it look like he had seen a ghost.

“Um, Wes.” I said and if I thought he was white before it was nothing compared to what he looked like now.

“It couldn’t be,” he said and he looked at me with fear in his eyes.

“What are you talking about,” I asked in utter confusion.

He tried to walk out of the room. I grabbed his wrist stopping him in his step. He turned to look at me and sighed.

“Tell me what is going on,” I said to him bluntly. He let out his held breath and faced me again. He took my hand in his and I could feel something between them. When he let go of my hand he ran out of the room. I looked down to see a folded piece of paper in my hand. I opened it up and read the word ‘TRUTH’ in giant red letters.

Images flashed before my eyes as if memories rushed into my head like a running stream. I was looking at Wes as he held a hand over his left eye with blood leaking over his hand. He was knelt on the ground and I could feel the sorrow within myself. The next image was of me standing in the middle of a town burning down. The flames were all around me and I was walking through them as if they were nothing. I could feel the emotional hate and anger inside me as I walked.

I fell to my knees as the images stopped and the paper was now on the ground next to me. It no longer had the word truth on it but instead a bunch of those random marks that I kept seeing. Someone was kneeling in front of me and they grabbed my chin lightly lifting my head to them. My vision was blurred and I couldn’t tell if I was looking at Sam or Wes, they looked so much alike it was insane. But it didn’t matter because I knew that I was safe.

Who do you want it to be? Sam or Wes. Let me know in the comments. :)

Wes, duh. Sam sucks at protecting her. Besides what just happened had to do with Wes.You know speak of the devil and the devil will appear. But whichever one or is, I'm cool with it.

Screw destiny. Lol. I want Sam. It'll be interesting to see him fight to keep her with him. A kind of fighting against his own nature type thing. But with all great stories with interesting characters this is bound to happen. Can't wait to see what you decide.
