18 months since the murders have happened.
18 months since my life has gotten back on track.
But things don't always have a happy ending right?
1: New Beginnings
"Garrett! Hurry the fuck up we're going to be late!" I yelled out.
"Coming!" he yelled back.
Being pregnant sure did stress me out more than I ever was. I couldn't handle it, from the morning sickness to the overly emotional moments. I swear I was just a complete mess.
Garrett came downstairs after what seemed like ages."Ready to go?"
"I've been ready for three fucking hours!" I snapped back.
"Whoa, calm down! We're going to make it to the doctors just in time! Don't worry!"
"I'm sorry. You know how mad I get..."Truth was, I wasn't mad. More like scared. I've been having constant nightmares the past few nights. They were always about the same damn thing. The night that the murders happened, and the night I was almost killed. What was wrong with me? I was just overreacting over nothing. All of it was over. I was sure of it! The dead couldn't possibly come back alive... Right?
"Uhh, Lacey, are you ready to go now?" Garrett asked, breaking my trance.
"Yeah, sure. Let's go."
"Well, the baby looks healthy. There seems to be no complications at all! You're free to go!" Dr. Hamilton said.
"Quick question, can we know the sex of the baby?" I asked harmlessly.
Garrett shot a quick look at me. "I thought we were going to figure out when you gave birth?" he whispered.
"Well, I want to know now! There possibly couldn't be any reason why we should wait!" I pleaded.
He sighed in frustration. "Fine."
The doctor checked my stomach and was looking at the monitor. "Well, from the looks of it... You're going to have a baby girl!"The doctor said in great excitement.
"Taylor Marie..." I whispered.
The doctor seemed to catch what I heard. "Excuse me, is that what you're going to name your child?" she smiled.
"Yeah, in memory of my sister..." I looked up at Garrett. He had a big smile on his face.
"Well isn't that sweet! Okay, so we'll meet again next month when you give birth! How exciting!" And with that she left.
The room suddenly became smaller for some reason.
"So we're staying with Taylor?" Garrett asked.
"Well, yeah. I thought you were okay with this?"
"I am... But I don't know... It just seems kind of eery doesn't it? I mean, next month would have been Taylor's 20th birthday and we're having a baby then. I don't know, I'm just babbling." He had a point. I forgot that it was Taylor's birthday, but that doesn't mean it on purpose! It was simply coincidence! It meant nothing!
"Yeah well, we're having this baby either way so be ready!" I told him.
"And then the wedding the month after..." he smiled.
"Yeah... Wow looks like we'll certainly be busy! Now get out so I can change!" He laughed and then left to go to the waiting room.
I got dressed and went to go look for him. He was sitting down reading a People magazine. Such a girl, I thought. "Hey hurry up! Let's go!" I told him.
He looked up and shied away. He knew I caught him reading that. Garrett never really liked it when people saw him read such stupid magazines.
We walked outside and the sun was blaring. It was too hot for it being a day in October! "Was it this hot when we came here?" I asked Garrett.
"No way! What the fuck is with this heat all of a sudden?" We walked towards the car when I stopped in front of a therapist office. I looked at it and couldn't help thinking that I really needed to talk to one. Garrett looked at me like I was crazy. "Seriously? You don't need to see a damn therapist! You'll be fine!" he reassured me and walked off.
His words didn't help.
I made sure he wasn't looking and took out my phone and put the office's number in my contacts. Dr. Hewitt.
When I was done I immediately caught up towards Garrett. I couldn't help but feel somebody was watching. I turned around and saw nothing. Weird...
I couldn't see anything. It was pitch black and I couldn't tell if it was night or day. I heard three different voices speaking. At first they were whispers but then they spoke clearly."Don't worry Lacey, it's not like we're going to hurt you!" the playful voice said. I knew it was Cynthia's right off the bat.
"Yeah, it's not like we're going to kill you!" Lily. They both laughed in unison.
"Girls, girls, stop it! You're just making her hopes go up!" a deep, dark voice said. Spencer. I started sweating terribly, fear was taking over me.
"What do you guys want from me?" I cried out.
"We just want revenge, bitch!" they all said. I suddenly felt pain all over and then I was wet with blood. I screamed out in pain!
Then a fourth voice started talking. "It may seem like it ended, dear Lacey, but it's only beginning. Please, sister, end it once and for all." Taylor.
"What do you mean?"
Then I felt something hit me hard. I jumped out of bed. I looked at the clock. 8:00 a.m. A major headache took over me. "Only a nightmare." I whispered. "Just a nightmare." I walked towards the bathroom, trying to dodge the mess on the bedroom floor. I took out some Advil pills from the cabinet and took them. I closed the the cabinet and looked at the mirror. I looked like a fucking wreck. I sighed and turned on the cold water and splashed it on my face.
You have to do it Lacey! Call the therapist! You need to! My thoughts wouldn't shut up. I went over to get my phone and call the office. There was no answer. I was sent to voicemail and decided to just leave a message. "Hello, Dr. Hewitt, this is Lacey Harris. Please get back to be soon! Call me at 483-555-4938. Thank you!" I threw my phone on the bed and walked towards the window. I looked down at the neighborhood and saw it was eerily quiet. I thought nothing of it until I looked down and saw a blonde woman standing by a tree and looking up at me.
Could it be? No! Get you're mind out of the gutter! I rubbed my eyes and did a double take.
The woman was gone.
