What makes them happy? I sat in the school cafeteria during lunch on a table with Ronnie and our other friend Olivia, watching the cheerleaders and jocks table who had Raymond with them
while sinking in deep thought why are they happy? Is it because they're freakishly skinny and freakishly blonde? Or is it just the 'I don't care about anything but the way I look'
"Earth calling Summer" called Olivia snapping me out of my thoughts as I looked at her in surprise "Wow, you're not focused at all today".
"I was just thinking" I said as Ronnie looked at the cheerleading table than noticed it had Raymond on it.
"About Raymond?" said Ronnie shocked.
"No" I whined as Ronnie sighed in relief.
"Why would she be thinking about Raymond anyway?" said Olivia confused Best thing about Olivia…..She's clueless about everything that's going on with me.
"Nothing Olivia" said Ronnie rolling her eyes "So what were you thinking about?".
"Why are they always happy all the time?" I asked.
"Who? the cheerleaders?" said Ronnie confused.
"They give them Morphine, it makes them preppy all the time" said Olivia while gulping down a soda.
"Yeah and they paint their teeth with Vaseline so they can't help but smile all the time" mocked Ronnie.
I glanced over at the cheerleaders and especially Jessica who was sitting on Raymond's lap. Jessica's the happiest person on earth but inside….she's a total bitch. And I'm not just saying that because she's Raymond's girlfriend, Olivia and Ronnie and every girl in the school (including her friends) agree.
"Maybe it's steroids" said Olivia breaking the silence.
"So what did you do today?" my psychologist Lauren asked me while we sat in her office.
"I went to school…." I said as she nodded waiting for more while writing in her note "….than came here?" What the hell? I have nothing else to say.
"Did you make friends?" she asked looking up at me through her thick glasses, she reminded me of that crazy fortune teller in Harry Potter.
"I already have friends" I said in confusion.
"What are they like? Are they nice?" she asked as I felt a rush of awkwardness I don't feel comfortable telling my friends about my life, why should I tell this….freak?.
"They're the nicest people in the school and the nicest people I know" I said.
"But not the nicest people in the world" she said pointing her pen at me This is gonna be the longest two hours in my life.
"She sounds like a bitch" said Ronnie as I talked to her on the phone while walking in the mall with my 20 year old sister Norah and my 12 year old sister Tammy.
"Yeah, she is" I said "But whatever anyway, it's only two hours a day and I can get through them avoiding answering her questions as much as I can".
"Ok, well I gotta hang up now" she said "You're coming over tonight, right?".
"Yeah, I'm spending the night at your house" I said as Nora gave me a confused look and I shrugged it off.
"Ok, See you later" she said before we both hanged up.
5,4,3,2…."Why are you spending the house at Ronnie's house?" said Nora confused as I rolled my eyes.
"I told mum and dad and they said yes" I said "It's not like this is the first time I spend the night at Ronnie's house".
"Oh, well do you need a ride?" she said offering.
"No, her house is only 2 blocks away and I could really use a walk" I said before noticing a bunch of guys standing in the corner of the mall and smoking, they were looking at me in…. an uncomfortable way.
"Ok, well lets hurry and buy some stuff before you leave" said Nora.
