"Nervous?" my mum asked me as I stood with Ronnie by the door of Landon's room waiting for the doctor to come out.
"No, what makes you say that?" I asked forcing a smile.
"Girls, you're both squeezing my hand" said mum as I looked to her hands and noticed them swallowing from how hard me and Ronnie were holding it.
"Sorry" we both said letting go of her hands as she sighed in relief.
"Girls, just take a deep breath" said mum calming us down as Landon's mum walked to us.
"Summer? What are you doing here?" said Landon's mum looking at me confused as I raised an eyebrow at her.
"I'm here to see Landon" I said as she looked bothered from me for an unknown reason.
"Landon has been asking for her" my mum told her as Landon's mum sighed.
"And you?" she asked looking at Ronnie.
"I'm here to see him too" said Ronnie as Landon's mum raised an eyebrow at her.
"And how do you even know my son?" asked Landon's mother crossing her arms.
"We met a couple of times" said Ronnie nervously.
"I introduced them to each other" I said as Ronnie nodded.
"Very well" said Landon's mother crossing her arms while looking up and down at us. She was treating us very weirdly, it was hard to believe that this was the same woman that I literally been raised by since I spent hours and hours in her house.
The doctor walked out the room and I literally jumped once I saw him.
"How is he?" we all asked.
"He won't rest until he sees this Summer" said the doctor.
"I'm Summer" I said in a duh tone.
"See if you can find out who did this to him" said a police officer walking to us "He won't speak to us about what happened".
"Ok" I said as me and Ronnie nodded.
"Ready?" Ronnie asked me as she reached her hand.
"Ready" I said taking a deep breath and holding it as I slowly opened the door with the other hand.
The room was so white and there lied Landon on his bed. His pale skin almost looked invisible in those white sheets. His face was barely seen between all the tubes attached to him and his face…scarred everywhere.
"Landon" I said as me and Ronnie quickly ran to him by his bed. I sat on his right by all the machine things and Ronnie sat on the left.
He opened his eyes slowly and a small smile crept on his face.
"You came" he said in a whisper as tears started streaming down my face and Ronnie's.
"Of course we did silly" I said laughing and moving his hair away from his eyes to find another scar on his forehead than my expression changed 180 degrees "Landon, who did this to you?".
"That's not important" said Landon struggling to breathe "There's something important I need to tell you".
"No, what's important for you is to rest" said Ronnie as Landon slowly closed his eyes than opened it again.
"I need to tell you something" said Landon sounding like he was choking as his mother walked in and Landon closed his eyes in disappointment.
"Well girls? Finished talking?" asked Landon's mother standing by the door and crossing her arms.
"Not yet" said Ronnie "Landon was about to say something important".
"This should be interesting" said Landon's mother standing closer to us and looking pissed off.
"It's too late" mumbled Landon with his eyes closed as he started to sweat "I'll never get the chance".
"Landon?" said Ronnie starting to panic.
"Landon, are you ok?" I asked as I noticed that he wasn't even moving "Landon?" I shook him a little and he wasn't moving as his mother looked at him in shock than quickly hit the page button next to his bed.
"What's happening?" said Ronnie confused.
"He's collapsing" I said panicking and suddenly Landon started couching blood. Mum, Nora, dad, Raymond, Landon's dad and Landon's sisters rushed inside and they all gasped once they saw him.
"What's going on?" said his doctor rushing inside as his eyes widened once he saw Landon.
"Took you long enough" yelled Landon's mother "He's collapsing, do something, don't just stand there".
"Ok, I want everyone out" yelled the doctor as two nurses rushed inside and gasped once they saw Landon.
"We're not going out" said Landon's dad determinate "What's happening? What's happening to my son?".
"Sir I need you to get out" yelled the doctor as he examined Landon. I found myself being pulled by my parents outside the room. I didn't feel anything that moment, I was hypnotized.
I just stood there. Everyone was crying and they all were concerned but I was frozen in my place without even flinching.
"Summer, what's wrong with him?" sobbed Ronnie walking to me as I shrugged.
"I don't know" I said shrugging as Raymond walked to us.
"Are you both ok?" asked Raymond.
How can I be ok?
