Claire's Point of View.
I raced down the dimly lit street, struggling to gain distance from my pursuer. My muscles ached and all of my senses were in full awareness. I had only one thought in my mind during those few moments.... I have to survive.
I turned a sharp corner, nearly slipping on the wet cobblestones. I was fast, but he was faster. He possessed a speed of inhuman quality.
Before I knew it, he slammed me into a solid brick wall at an incredible speed. The blow to my head sent shots of agonizing pain through my skull. He covered my mouth with his hand to stifle my screams.
"Shut up you little bitch!" he whispered harshly into my ears. "No one will be able to hear you." He flashed an evil grin, baring his razor sharp fangs.I was completely helpless. And even more pathetic than that? He was right. There was no one out in these deserted streets to hear me...
Tears streamed down my eyes as he ran his hand up my thigh, while keeping his other over my mouth. I was too afraid to feel violated... humiliated. I deserve better than this! I thought to myself.
The vampire pulled out a hooked dagger from his belt, exposing it in the dim light and flashing it around. "Nice huh?" he said with a gleam in his dark eyes, turning his attention to my neck.He eyed me like a hungry dog… or better yet, a crocodile during feeding time at a zoo. I struggled under his strong grip as he brought the dagger to the side of my neck and slashed it across. Crimson blood dripped from the incision left by the knife as the searing pain hit me at full force.
He lowered his head, and licked the blood from my neck. "Mm… you taste delicious,” he whispered with amusement, clearly enjoying the pain and fear he was inflicting on me. The vampire lowered his hand from my mouth and continued to lick the blood from the wound.
"Please," I said to him, whimpering, "Don't kill me."
He looked up at me and whispered, "Oh, I'm not going to kill you... yet." He cackled loudly before continuing. "I'm going to have a little fun with you first."
My eyes widened in terror as his fangs gleamed in the light. I closed my eyes, and braced myself for the pain when----
End Claire's Point of View
The body of the Vampire fell with a thud to the wet stone. Blood leaked from a bullet wound in his back. Claire looked over to find a man standing in the entrance of the alleyway, silhouetted by the light cast down from the street lamps. He lowered his gun, sheathed it in his belt, and made his way towards her.Her first impression of him was that he was simply.... gorgeous. The stranger had jet black hair that hung slightly over his eyes- which were also black, and seemed to have no end. He had a strong jawline and flawless tan skin. His shoulders were broad and his arms were muscular.
"Are you alright?" he asked while gently helping her up.
“I think so,” Claire told him, still quite shaken from the attack.
He eyed her and spotted the cut on her neck.
"We need to get you to a doctor," he said in a more serious tone.
"No, I'll be fine,” she lied. “I just need to lie down for a second.” She felt lightheaded. Something wasn’t right. Maybe the cut is more serious than I thought...
Claire stumbled a few feet, and then…
Everything went black.

She woke up for what seemed like days later in a large bed covered with many soft sheets and pillows.
Where am I? she thought.
