The first day of year eleven came as a shock to me. I couldn't understand how much people change in six weeks. I had no chance to see anyone over the holidays because of my mother. She has this thing against me being out of the house unsupervised, she thinks something bad will happen to me. She just does not want to let me go. It's as if she thinks I will never come home. She wont let my friends come around to our place either because of 'experiences' she had when she was a kid and her friends came over. I think mum is hiding a secret from me, something big. But I don't know what it is... not yet.

Recess break came and when I attempted to approach the people I hanged out with last year they didn't much attention to me. I tried to talk to them, but they wouldn't listen to poor little me, so I walked off and ventured to find someone who would accept me, someone who can reach inside my heart and be apart of me...

Weeks past and I had not yet found that person, not even close. Recess and lunch's were spent on the oval just lying there, I wasn't even able to pull out my phone and check face book because mum wouldn't let me have either. In class I sat up the back in the corner generally having tears flowing down my cheeks, my teachers new I was crying but never bothered to help me. I had turned into the school reject. Everyone avoided me. I had stopped bothering to make friends months ago.

One afternoon when I got back from school my mum handed me a few sheets of paper. She had received the Interim report early. I was not surprised with my high marks; as I do excel over most students in my year. I was surprised in why my mum had received the report in the middle of the term. I asked her why, and she said “Son, I have received a call from your school stating that your level of participation in your classes is unhealthy and that your intentional isolation from others is actually causing anxiety in some of the staff, the principal has recommended that you move away to a special school. The principal is baffled in how you achieve such high marks compared to your low efforts in class. So I think it is best for you to do this. I needed the report so I can include it in your enrolment package, the bus leaves tomorrow, get your bags packed I will be dropping you off tomorrow morning at six at the bus stop”.  To be continued
