So, this is my first ever romance story, and I was kind of awkward writing it...I hope you like it! :)

Taylor smiled and looked at her sheets.  Then frowned.  She'd never understood this subject.  Stupid history, who cared what some guy with a moustache had done a thousand years ago?  She sure as hell didn't.  Sighing, she flipped over onto her stomach and looked up into a sea of bright emerald green.

Eric's eyes had always made her melt.  They were bright and soul-searching, and they had a look in them that you could just never forget.  Every time Taylor looked at them, her heart began to pound a million times faster and her hands started to heat up.  And the rest of his body was so amazing, too.  He had tight, slim muscles and a tall figure that labeled him as the mysterious bad boy.  But Taylor knew otherwise.  He was a sweet, calm, helpful boy with a passion for whatever he did.

And Taylor knew she loved him.

Just kiss him, she would tell herself, trying to grow enough confidence to tell him how she felt.  Just reach up and kiss him.  But no matter what she told herself, she just couldn't get over that wall of fear.

"Taylor.  Taylor.  Taylor!"

"Huh?  What?"

Eric was staring at Taylor, amused.  God, he's beautiful, she thought as she stared at him.  Then she cleared her throat and tucked her long, brownish-red hair behind her ear nervously.  "What were you saying?"

Eric laughed.  "Who first landed in the Carribean Islands?"

Taylor furrowed her brow and thought about that.  She knew it was some Italian guy...or was it Dutch?  No, she was sure he had been French.  And his name...Kyle?  Eric?  Eric...

No, she couldn't let herself daze off again.  "Um...Chris something.  Chris...Christopher...Christopher Columbus!"

"Good!"  Eric smiled and gave her a small, cheesy round of applause.  Then he leaned closer, so their faces were almost touching.  "It looks like I've taught you well."

Oh, God, thought Taylor nervously.  She knew she was breathing heavily, and she was probably trembling.  What is he going to do?

He kissed her.

Slowly, at first, as if he was unsure how she would respond.  But when Taylor kissed him back, he added more fire to his lips.  More passion.  More love.

Even after he pulled away, Eric and Taylor just sat on her soft, goose down bed, staring into eachother's eyes.  Breathing.  Smiling.  Neither of them saying anything...

Just wordlessly connecting.

Taylor knew she loved him.  All she needed now was him.

"I love you," she said quietly.  Then she braced herself for impact, for rejection...

"I love you, too."  And then he leaned down and kissed her again.

Thanks! :) And I agree, the point wasn't for them to be irrevocably in love, just kind of a first love. And thanks! It was awkward to write it though xD

Oh my! I loved it. It was a short piece but sometimes the shorter ones are the best:]] I thought you captured everything so well, because at least for me, I'm always having those small thoughts about my crush. Great job:D I really enjoyed it!

Thank you! Yes, it was short, and it would have been longer but I couldn't find the right words to stretch it out. And I'm glad you found it relatable; I'm always having those thoughts too. Glad you enjoyed it!
