After Tamwyn (yea, that's his name) showed me around the military area, we headed back to the training building set aside for me to find Sarah/Starfire standing in the middle, clearly angry about something. She turned towards us and her eyes were like fire, the way they burned into me, almost making me feel angry too, but mostly just scared, because I suddenly understood that this girl is capable of terrible things. I understood that she's a lot stronger than she appears. I looked towards Tamwyn in alarm.
"Star?" He said softly, tentatively. The sound that escaped her was more menacing than any hiss or growl than I had ever heard, and it sent terror coursing through every cell in my body. Tamwyn muttered out of the corner of his mouth "Go to the corner of the room and make yourself as insignificant as possible."
Well, I can certainly do that. I ran for it, just in time too, because Sarah/Starfire launched herself at Tamwyn, punching and kicking every inch of him that she could reach. At first he did nothing, but slowly, he began to block her attacks, and began to truly fight back. It was like it was going in slow motion. I could tell that Sarah/Starfire was wearing herself out too quickly, always on the offense and never parrying his blows (though it didn't seem like she was swayed by them either). Tamwyn was saving his strength, and as she got weaker, he applied more force. I knew she wouldn't last much longer.
I was right. Sarah/Starfire collapsed, right on top of Tamwyn. She pressed her lips to his and he kissed her back in earnest.
Well, I wasn't going to stick around for their make out session, so I booked it out of there. Especially since I left my crush behind in Human Land (as I had taken to calling anywhere that isn't here). I turned and went down a random road, all of Tamwyn's directional advice forgotten. I turned again.
And I saw the most beautiful girl in the world.
