I pulled my simple cloak closer to me; now where was it? I hope I didn’t go this far out of my way for nothing... Then the dainty white flower I was looking for appeared under a tree to my right. “Yes, enchanters nightshade... I’ve been looking everywhere for you, pesky little plant...” I smirked, picking a few sprigs of the plant and placing them in my herb tin.

Ding, ding, ding.

The sound of swords clanging together reached my ears, and I turned to the sound; startled and backing up. I heard the whiz of an arrow flying through the air, and started heading out of the forest. “Show yourself!” Someone shouted to my right, and I stopped cold. Did I recognize that voice from somewhere?

“Wha-aa-aat?” I made my voice shake in fear; my green eyes big as I walked out.

“What are you doing here all by yourself?” he asked me in a deep voice.

“I’m lost and I keep hearing fighting. Arrows flying through the air and swords clanging.” I lied,I knew exactly where I was... but no-one likes spellcasters and the sword at his side looked extremely sharp. He looked like the type to know how to use it; and the bow on his shoulder was even more discouraging a prospect... a long range weapon wasn’t good if I ended up needing to run.

“Okay, well how about you stay with me until we reach the next town. I can protect you until then. Do you trust me enough just to let me do that?”
“I guess I have no choice. As long as you promise to give me space and not get too comfortable with my company,” I smirked at him, pseudo-confidence marking my face.
“Okay but you better not get too close to me...” he mimicked my smirk.
“Why are you smiling like that?” I asked, cocking an eyebrow at him.
“Oh I think you know.” he replied with sass.
“Don’t give me that, wow you are hopeless you’re already getting attached to me. This is going to be a long couple of weeks.” I replied with a lot more sass then usual. He started leading me along the trees; he moved confidently and easily over the rough ground as I followed just as easily. His figure became a silhouette as I followed him; it looked familiar. But I had to clear my mind. There was no way I could know this guy we just met.
Enchanters nightshade... wormwood... black clovers... I checked off the ingredients of the potion in my head. Only one ingredient left, and lucky me it would be the most difficult to find... impossible to find if I kept an escort... I was going to have to lose him somehow...
