Kayla is standing in front of the man, now a corpse, with the rifle pointed at his head. The man looked as if he had tried to move but Kayla stopped him before he could get loose of his restraints.

“What the hell happened Kayla?!” Said Jessie as she put her hand on Kayla’s rifle and pushed it down. “I thought I heard one of those bells ring so I walked over to the door. When I turned back the guy was trying to untie himself and I panicked”

Jessie looks at Kayla and looks over at Landon. Landon knows exactly what she’s thinking. “How long ago did you hear the bell?” Said Landon. Kayla thought for a moment trying to collect her thoughts. “Um, I don’t know maybe five minutes-.” Before she could finish her sentence, bullets started flying through the front windows, shattering the glass. Kayla took cover behind the trunk Landon keeps M.R.E.s in. Landon and Jessie are taking cover with their backs against the wall that leads to the fire exit door. “Kayla get over here!” Said Jessie, trying to yell over the gunshots. “I can’t!” Said Kayla, panicking. “Kayla I need you to run over here. That trunk won’t hold back bullets.” Kayla looks at Jessie and takes a deep breath. She quickly jumps up and runs across the room with her head down and her hands on her head. A bullet goes through Kayla’s knee and she falls to one knee. Jessie’s eyes widen and she reaches her hand out to Kayla. Kayla looks up at Jessie with fear in her eyes as a bullet hits her in the head, killing her instantly. She falls to the ground and as she does, time seemingly slows down for Jessie. The sound of constant gunshots fades out as she looks into Kayla’s lifeless eyes she lies there, blood pooling from her head.

The firing stops. Jessie snaps back into reality. She grabs her rifle and storms towards the front door. “Fuck! Wait what are you-.” Nothing is running through Jessie’s head except the desire to kill. She has never felt such a feeling in her life but in this moment she could feel nothing else but her bloodlust consuming her as a whole. The shooters were standing in front of her. There were three, they were reloading their weapons. One looked up for a moment and saw Jessie with her rifle aimed at them. Jessie shot the first enemy four times in the chest and head, approaching even faster now. The other two looked up. Jessie held her rifle in one hand and pulled a knife out with the other. As the shooters raised their weapons, Jessie shot the one on the left in hip and he fell to the ground, she then dropped her rifle and went for the last one with her knife. He aimed his pistol but before he could shoot, Jessie pushed his arm to the side. She then put her arm around his elbow and bent it backwards until it broke. The man screamed in agony and he dropped his pistol. Jessie pushed him to the ground right beside the man she had shot earlier. Still alive, the man looked at the one with the broken arm. Jessie put the knife to the man with the broken arm’s neck and slit his throat. His friend watched in horror as he gurgled and gasped for breath, dying slowly.

Jessie crouched down into the man’s vision and looked at his friend, then at him. “How does it feel?” Said Jessie in a horrific tone. “W-What?” Said the man. “How does it fucking feel to watch him die in pain? How does it feel to know that you couldn’t and still can’t do anything to save him?” She looks back down at the dying man as he takes his last breath. A tear rolls down the other intruder’s face. Jessie stands up and kicks the man as hard as she can in his stomach. She then grabs him by the collar of his shirt and drags him into the office.

“What the hell Jessie…?” Jessie throws the man on the ground and takes the pistol from Landon, pointing it at the intruder. “Who are you?! Who the fuck sent you?!” Yelled Jessie. The man screams in pain. “Who?!” She kicks him again. “The Revs! I work for the Revs!” Screamed the man. “Who the fuck are the Revs?” Said Jessie angrily. “They’re an army of assholes that kill smaller groups of survivors that don’t share their views. They say they’re purifying the wastes by eliminating all survivors that refuse to conform to a whole force to “rebuild” but all they do is kill and pillage.” Explained Landon. “I swear I don’t buy into that shit! They threatened to kill my friends and I if I didn’t join.” The man said in fear. “Fucking coward.” Said jessie as she sat on the ground exhausted both physically and mentally. “Please just let me go I-.” Jessie put the gun to the intruder’s head and pulled the trigger. “Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up!” She drops the gun and runs her hands through her hair crying. Landon sits down next to her, resting his arms on his knees. He looks at Kayla and then at the intruder then at Jessie. A tear falls down his cheek. He leans his forehead on Jessie’s shoulder and tightly closes his eyes, crying more. “I thought I was done with this.” Said Landon in an unstable voice. “I thought it was over, but no matter what I do I can’t escape this god forsaken wasteland.” Jessie looked up at landon for a moment and then wrapped her arms around his shoulder and rested her head on his.
