Isquinted my eyes into a thin line as I looked for who had been looking through the window. I stepped closer to the wall that was holding a distance from me and the building. I hovered my hand over the wall wanting to prop myself higher to see better but common sense settled in my stomach. If I burnt my hand once it's bound to happen again.
I swear my head talks more than my mouth. I sighed and decided to forget about the supposedly heated wall and moving curtain.
....
I swung my legs around as I walked up and down the streets. Banners was smacking the bright blue sky as if jealous of the sky's color. I loved going to the market place. There was always weird shops and foods to explore. People flowed all around grabbing jewelry, clothes, food, and tons more. Sometimes my brother, Riley, would bring me here. The market place held so many memories of him and I. He hasn't taken me here for awhile though. His stupid girlfriend has brainwashed him and taken him away from me. His girlfriend is an evil alien or something. Ichuckled at my thoughts and rounded a busy corner.
....
After wandering the streets I walking into a shop called, l'amour rend meaning 'love travels' in french. I hesitated but stepped in hoping not to scar my innocent mind or what's left of it. I let out a sigh when I saw pink splashed on the walls and heart shaped pillows on a single couch near a table. I read a sign "Find out when..." underneath the 'when' scribbled in said "& where"... "you will Find your True Love!" I wasn't really interested in finding out when.... and where I will find my true love but it sounded fun. Not like I have much else to do, my mind said again. I sat down at the couch and awaited my fortune to be told.
....
My eyes gazed down at the table next to a silver bell, there lay a small card saying, 'Ring bell for Service.' I picked up the bell and rang it loudly like an impacient costumer. A middle aged lady walked out of a door with beads and string hanging down from the frame like a curtain. Her hair was put up in a lose bun that was softly covered by a shawl looking thing full of colors. Both of her arms were crowded with jewelry along with her fingers. On each finger laid some sort of ring and a dulled purple finger nail. She greeted me with a smile.
....
"Nice to meet you Sage!" She clapped her hands twice and sat at the table across from me.
....
"You too Ms. Sherrnie," I smiled back. This wasn't as akward as I thought it would be.
.....
"Palms up and take a deep breath," she instructed me. I did as I was told while she rubbed her hands together and clapped twice again. She told me to close my eyes.
I closed them but couldn't help to make my eyelashes flutter. She caustiously placed her fingertips on the lines in my palms. I was accually relaxing and oddly feeling sleepy. I would of accused her as hypnotizing me but my eyes were closed.
After moving her hands over mine she sucked in air. I shot my eyes open in shock and glanced at her.
....
"Deary have you met anyone weird? Anyone at all? They might not even be a lover in your eyes," she said between short gasps.
"I don't know what you mean! What's wrong?" even though I kept a straight face my voice gave away my fear.
