Hidden in a furless skin,

I'm the wolf that's trapped within,

I speak to you through this short poem,

Hoping that I'm not alone

In being how I am in life

In seeing other people's strife

In saying that I miss my home

On the top of the northern dome

The frozen land of ice and snow

If you said home that's where I'd go.

Where white snow lands on whiter fur

A flurry of flakes my paws do stir

I'm running in my too-real dreams,

Close to falling apart at the seams.

The corridor gave way to ice

Now my soul is in the vice

Forced to live in human form

Feeling like my fur's been torn

Away and left me freezing now

I know I must go back... but how?
