A/N: The thing I kept telling myself while writing this chapter was: "If it dosen't hurt the author to kill of a character, how can they then believe that it will hurt the reader at all?"

I think this story really tells a lot about me. I've made Renesmee's character a bit like my own. Also, since music is my main inspiration (Read my profile for more) every chapter will hold lyrics from a lot of diffirent songs. I'll also make Nessie and Rose create a band, but more about that in later chaps. Enjoy the prologue!

Prologue: This far.

Renesmeelooked up at her mum, her eyes were red where they were supposed to be white. She had been crying again, Bella could tell. But it didn't surprise her. Nessie had been like this ever since the accident with the Volturis.

Nessie was now three years old, and could perfectly well go for an eleven-year old, as she stood there, watching the big red train at platform 9 3/4. Her beautiful, shining bronze curls flew around her head. Bella didn't like it when Alice wanted to cut them, so Nessies hair reached her all the way too the waist. Her pretty, nearly white skin was glittering slightly in the sunlight, just making her look even more wonderful.
Carlisle said that she would reach her full growth in about five years. One year longer then the Volturis wanted.

Bella looked up at Edward, who was standing next to her. They were both wearing thick, covering clothes so nobody would see their glistening skin.

The Cullen-family had moved to England one week after they had gotten the letter for Renesmee. They wanted to be closer to the school. They now lived in a huge, Victorian mansion, where the nearest town was Godric's Hollow. They hadn't really been socialising with anyone, even though they knew that there lived several witches and wizards there. Even the famous Harry Potter was said to live somewhere in that area.

Edward sighed as he bent down to Renesmee.

"Are you all right?" he asked his daughter and only child. Nessie looked up at him, her eyes were frightened to death. Edward knew she was nervous; he could read her mind after all."I'm sure you'lkl be okay." He then hugged her tightly.

Bella then bent down to hug her. Renesmee showed her how afraid she was; this was all too much.

First there were the Volturis, killing the pack. Then there was Jacob ... dead ...

"Ssshh, it'll be allright. I promise," said Bella as she hugged her little girl. Bella was just happy that Nessie hadn't reached to develop any deeper feelings for Jacob, then brotherly.

But Carlisle told them that even though Jacob was gone, the feelings Renesmee held for him could still develop. This worried Bella. She didn't want her daughter to end up broken for the rest of her life.

She just wanted her to be happy.

"Bye, sweetie. We'll see you at Christmas," Bella said. Edward had a pained expression in his eyes as they watched Nessie slowly walk umboard the train, her little heart-shaped face was frightened to death.

But at least they had McGonagall on their side ...

Renesmee POV:

Iwalked around the train for ages. I had no idea there were so many students at Hogwarts. They filled an entire train, for God's sake.I walked around for ages, before suddenly bumping into someon.

"Oh, sorry!" It was a girl's voive.I quickly looked up to see a pretty girl, who was just aboutmy own size, with huge, ocean-blue eyes and big, fizzy datk-auburn hair. Her teeth were a bit out of place, though. Her skin was pale (Not as pale as mine, but still). She smiled friendly to me.

"Hi. Are you a first year? I am. I'm Rose Weasley, by the way," she said and shook my hand. I nodded and smiled; Rose seemed to be exited for school. Behind her stood a boy with extremely messy, black hair beautiful and emerald-green eyes. He smiled shyly. The girl, Rose, rolled her eyes.

"This is my sucker cousin, Albus Potter," she said. The boy, Albus, shifted on his feet. He seemed shy.

"Ehm, I'm Renesmee ... Cullen." I didn't know if they knew anything. But they just kept smiling.

"Cullen? You're living close to us. In Godric's Hollow," Albus suddenly spoke. I looked at him.

"Yes, that's us," I said.

"We need an compartment," Rose thought out loud. Then she grabbed mine and Albus' hands and pulled us after her to the back of the train. As we reached the compartments in the back, I saw that most of them were practically empty. But most of them were filled with people who looked quite unpleasant.

"Rose, the Slytherins sit here," Albus complained. Rose stopped up and looked at him.

"Okay, then we'll be standing out here the entire ride ..." Rose said. Albus sighed and we began walking again.

"Hey, look! There's only one person in there!" Albus said. He slid the compartment-door open and walked inside. Me and Rose heard him greet whoever it was who was sitting there.

"Come on!" he said.

Rose was first in, since mycreepy shyness held me back.

"Come on Renesmee," said Rose. I pulled my trunk with me inside of the compartment, seeing Albus help Rose to get her trunk on place. I looked around the compartment and saw that there was only one other boy in there.

His hair was platinum blond, his skin was almost as pale as mine and he had light grey eyes. Any other person would've looked hilarious looking like that, but he pulled it off. You could tell by only looking at his face that he would be an extremely handsome young man once her grew up. I gave him a friendsly smile, before simply lifting my own trunk. Rose stared at me.

"How on Earth can you lift it yourself?" she asked. I shrugged and sat down opposite the boy.

"You're the Malfoy-boy," Rose said, a bit catious. He nodded and smiled.

"And you're the Weasley-girl," he said with a smirk. Rose seemed to be fighting an inner battle. Then she looked at me. I smiled.

She then sat down next to me, and started introducing herself.

"I'm Rose Weasley," she said.

"Scorpius Malfoy," he replied before looking at me. His eyes were quite beautiful. After having only lived with brown or golden it was very nice to finally find some friends with other colours and personalitys.

"Renesmee Cullen. But people usually call me Nessie ..." I trailed off. I had told them about Nessie. I didn't even call myself that in my head anymore. Only my family was allowed to use it.

Because it reminded me of Jacob.

"Are you okay?" Rose asked, putting a hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah, it's just I haven't used my nickname for a while."

"Why?" she asked.

"Family-stuff," I answered quietly. Rose got the hint, and stopped asking.

Scorpius looked understanding, Albus looked curious and Rose just smiled friendly down to me. New friends was something I had to get used too. I glanced out the window. The trees were now flying by.

"So you're from America," Scorpius said. I nodded. "It's the accent that gives you away."

"I always thought Americans were fat and tan and all," Albus said. "But you are nothing like that." Ehr, thanks for the compliment ... I think.

"Yeah, I don't ... eat much." How could my parents trust me to keep the secret? Stupid parents!

The rest of the train-ride went well. I soon found out that Rose was very smart; she had already read all out textbooks and practiced some spells. Scorpiu was smart too. He wasn't as - how do I put his? - nerd-ish. Albus was a laugh when you first got him talking. He had a great sense of humour, the same as me. I could already now see that all four of us would be great friends.

After the food trolley had been there (I had been overwhelmed by all the new sweets) we began talking about houses. This seemed to make Scorpius quite uncomfortable.

"I know I'll end up in Slytherin. It's in my blood," he said. I didn't really know much about the houses, so I didn't say anything.

"You won't," Rose said. "You aren't a Slytherin, I can tell." She gave him a comfortable smile.

"Yeah, you're not Slytherin-material," Albus said. Another thing I could already now see, was that the two boys would end up being the best of friends.

"What house do you want Renesmee?" Rose asked.

"I don't really know much about them, except that there are four, and their names," I answered.

"Well, then someone - me - should tell you about them!" Albus happily offered. I smiled at his enthusiasm. "Gryffindor is where the brave go, Ravenclaw is just a collection of nerds, Hufflepuff is for all the stupid and lazy, and Slytherin are all the evil kids." I shivered.

Defenetely Hufflepuff.

"Of course I want to be in Gryffindor, but Ravenclaw sounds wonderful too," Rose said.

"I guess I'll end up in Hifflepuff then," I said and sighed.

"No you won't. I think you would be a great Ravenclaw or Gryffindor," Scorpius said. I smiled to him.

"Thanks," I said.

Rose looked at her watch, wondering what time it was.

"We should change into our robes," she said.

"Sssh!" Rose hissed at Albus and Scorpius. I turned around to look at them, nervous as ever before. I turned my head back to concentrate on the soring. We were supposed to take an old hat on our heads and then it would decided where we belonged. How weird is that?

"Cullen, Renesmee!" professor Longbottom (Head of Gryffindor house) yelled. My head snapped up, and it took a while for me to realise that he was calling me up. I shook my head gently, before walking up towards the hat and stool.

I sat down and took the hat on my head. It didn't fall for my eyes, as it did for elmost every other student. I must have a huge head, then.

I saw Rose smile to me while Albus was giving me thumbs up. Acorpius was smirking ... a picture of their personalities, truly. The hat was silent. And I, who thought it would talk? How silly ...

"Cullen, Renesmee, people used to call you Nessie." I was about to scream pf shock by the hats sudden words. "Don't be afraid, I do not bite. Back to business, Nessie?"

Yes, I thought. Hey, this was just like talking to my dad!

"Slytherin is a place you could never enter. You have been through to many losses to be evil ..." What did he mean by that? Was he talking about ... Jake? "Very clever for your age. Three years, even."

How did you ...?

"Now now, dear. I can see your every thought, every memory you ever had. Now, Ravenclaw perhaps? But then again you are too - no offense - vulnerable for that house. I've known many Ravenclaws through the years and they are all very insulting. Too much wit, if you ask me -" I noticed that my sorting had been the longest one yet. "Not Hufflepuff ... then there's only one house left, my dear. Gryffindor ... I can see that you can be brave when your beloved ones are in danger. I am going to ask you something, just to be sure not to put you in Ravenclaw."

"Could you please shpw me the entire memory from the day of Jacob Blacks death?"

I stopped breathing for a moment.

Why? I asked the hat.

"I will never show anyone what you now will share with me, Nessie," the hat said. I wondered how on Earth the other students could be scared of the hat. It was perfectly polite.

And if the memory was what it took to find my house, then I should give it to him.

Okay. I concentrated eagerly for a while, before it all came rushing back to me ...

"Bella!" dad yelled from the forest. I was in my mum's arms, only appearing to be seven years old. I pressed my face against her neck, waiting for dad to appear from the shadows of the trees. We were standing outside the Cullen-house. We had been standing there for a long time now, waiting for the others to return. Oddly enough, my mum had obligied to stay at the house with me, since I was the main protection.

"Edward," mum whisperes as we saw him appear. He rushed over to us, hugging us both tightly.

"Where are they? What heppened? Did you ..." mum trailed off as she saw Edwards facial expression.

"What Alice saw was true. Aro is dead. The Volturis are losing their grip on our world because of the growing coven in Australia." he explained.

"The coven that was here?" Bella asked. Edward nodded.

"They are about seventy grown vampires and ninty newborns," he said. Since I was very good at maths, I quickly made it out in my head: 160 vampires attacking them ... I looked over mum's shoulder to see Tia, Kate, Maggie and another vampire who's name I never remembered (I didn't like him that much) standing there together with Alice. They were here to protect ... me.

"What happened ... the others?" mum asked. I looked back at my dad. His expression was so pained, so ... vulnerable. He put his arms around us again.

"They were surrounded. There wasn't time for it. We tried but ... the newborns were to eager. They didn't scent the blood-fiffirenc, they just had to ... kill." Did he just say ...

"The pack? ... no, no, no ..." mum breathed faster, even though she was a vampire and technically didn't need air.

Suddenly it felt like someone had pushed a dagger through my stomach, my head, my heart. It was an undescribeble pain. It was soterribly hurtful. The tears that were now sreaming from my eyes were burning my cheeks.

I let out a loud scream.

Not Jake, I could've been there, trying to stop them! If I had just been there ...

The echo of my scream flew through the woods ...

The tears were silently running down my cheeks. I looked at the students who were all staring back at me. All of a sudden ...

I was just sitting there, dumbstruck for a moment. Then I quickly jumped off the stool, took the hat of, and sprinted down towards the Gryffindor-table. The table erupted in cheers and laughter.

I sat down next to a pretty tall, very handsome blond boy. He looked down at me, his eyes were sparkling blue. Next to him sat another boy with auburn hair and warm, hazel eyes. Then there were two twins, both with fiery red hair and glimting blue eyes. They looked like some sort of group. Opposite me, a girl with blond hair and happy blue eyes was sitting. I recognised her as Alice Longbottom, professor Longbottoms daughter and also the first this year to get sorted into Gryffindor.

After a couple of names, it was Scorpius' turn. The Great Hall (as it was called) started whispering frantically. I catched words as 'Slytherin' and 'Malfoy' several times.

The hat was unbelievebly fast to put Scorpius into place. As soon as it touched his head, or maybe before? Well, the hat shouted something no one was expecting:

Scorpius looked dumbstruck for a moment. The he quickly jumped of the chair, took the hat off, and walked down to our table. The cheers were a bit (very) late and spred as he sat down next to Alice. I sent him a friendly smile. I noticed that I was the one who had cheered hardest for him.

Then, here was Albus. He looked like a spaz as he walked up towards the hat. It didn't fall for his eyes, either. He sat there for about five seconds, before the hat shouted "GRYFFINDOR!" He looked proud as he walked down towards us.

This time the cheers were xtremely loud. The auburn-haired boy was probably the loudest. Suddenly I noticed that he had the same nose as Albus. They could only be related.

"Albus, my dear brother! Guess I was wrong after all!" he said as he hugged Albus.

"Shut it, James," Albus scowled.

Rose was the last of us to get sorted. Sad with that W, really.

"GRYFFINDOR!" the had yelled after a trumendous amount of time. Almost as long as my own.

She ran down towards us, and bumped down next to me.

"We're all in the same house!" she yelled through the cheers.

Through our first tfour years at Hogwarts, we remained the best of friends. Albus and Scorpius made the Quidditch-team, Albus as Keeper, Scorpius as Seeker. Lily, Albus' little sister, got sorted into Gryffindor, as well as Rose's little brother Hugo.

The vampires alliance with the wizards was strong, and we were out of danger.

It would have been easier if it wasn't because of the pain I kept feelinh inside. A hole, that couldn't be filled. I still woke up screaming at night, I still had nightmares about his dead body ...

But now I had a reason to try ...

You're not alone
Together we stand
I'll be by your side, you know I'll take your hand
When it gets cold
And it feels like the end
There's no place to go
You know I won't give in
No I won't give in

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

So far away
I wish you were here
Before it's too late, this could all disappear
Before the doors close
And it comes to an end
With you by my side I will fight and defend
I'll fight and defend
Yeah, yeah

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

Hear me when I say, when I say I believe
Nothing's gonna change, nothing's gonna change destiny
Whatever's meant to be will work out perfectly
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

La da da da
La da da da
La da da da da da da da da

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

Keep holding on
Keep holding on

There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
