My hand twitched with fear and the bottle flew down, breaking into pieces all over the floor. My heart also broke at that moment, and my jaw was already dropped. The sound of scattered glas echoed through the apartment that I had meant to leave almost an hour earlier. The cause of death was finally known. He hadn't wanted to live. He wanted to get away for reasons I couldn't explain that day. Something had haunted him, something he had seen or done. Something terrible. The comfort he thought he gave me was:" It's not you, it's me," but that didn't justify his action. Why, oh why, I asked myself.

During the course of time in which I had twitched, frozen, cried and dropped the precious bottle, a liquid had spread across the area of floor around the crushed glass. It was blue and definately not champagne. I got down on my knees, felt the glas tearing through my silk skirt and cutting my dry skin, placed my face straight into the liquid, and smelled the mysterious drops. I was quickly able to identify it. It was the laundry detergent I used weekly, and it was obviously poisonous. Not drinkable-highly fammable and full of Hydrogen Cyanide. Joel, who used to help and watch me do the laundry, had apparently noticed the warning sign on the detergent and taken advantage of it's power. He never helped me with the laundry again, because he had chosen to leave me.

I thought of our last night together. I could see everything in my mind so clearly. I could hear a voice telling each part of the story to me, like a story teller.

Music and laughter filled the new apartment as the guests arrived. Jenny brought out the Tapas and Champagne for everybody, it was time to celebrate! Joel put his arm around his Jenny and kissed her on the cheek before he popped the Champagne open and cheered. The candles lit up the rooms all evening and the atmosphere was joyful and romantic. The close friends and relatives talked while sipping on their drinks until the clock struck twelve and they began to hug and leave.

Joel had been sitting on the sofa since he had eaten his last cheese and cracker. He stayed there sipping on his Champagne while Jenny cleaned up and blew out the candles. Then he got up, took his glas to the kitchen and came back empty handed. Jenny passed him, looking into his eyes as she carried a plate with leftovers, she smiled cheekily. But then she quickly came to wonder why Joels eyes were twirling and why hedidn't smile back. As far as she knew, the night had been wonderful and he had enjoyed every second.

" Baby, are you alright? You look exhausted and your eyes, they are twirling. Are you doing that on purpose?" She searched into his eyes standing in front of him and then she giggled. Perhaps he was drunk. He was silent but then stroked his hand against the side of her face. " Honey, I am fine. It is not my eyes that are twirling, it is your brain! I think someone had too much to drink!", he said in a happy manner. Jenny laughed and nudged him in his arm, biting her lip flirtaciuosly. Then she washed the plate in the kitchen, singing loudly to herself like usual. Unaware and oblivious, she walked into the hallway, thinking she would go to bed and find Joel heavily asleep there.

But she found Joel on the hall's floor, laying, unconscious and dead. She collapsed and layed next to him on the floor, sobbing until sunrise. His eyes stared right forward into hers, but his heart was not beating. Not even for Jenny. With glas, blood and blue poison coveringher legs, she crawled outside, dragging her purse. She didn't lock the door. She didn't take a last look around in case she forgot something. She just crawled out to the street and called for a taxi. She didn't care or even wonder for a second what would happen to Joel's body, he had left her first, now she was going to leave him. She had had enough secrets revealed in one day and left the apartment, with nothing but a broken heart, her purse and a blue note.
