Sometimes… in the darkness of night… you feel as though your being watched… but when you wake up, nobody’s there. Wouldn’t it be better if our dreams didn’t exist, that way nightmares wouldn’t either… at that moment I fell back into my dream world where I wasn’t what people fear, were I wasn’t a Werewolf.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
“Uh,” groaned the sleeping teen from under the bundles of covers.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
“Five more minutes.” Strands of long brunette hair where entangled throughout the multiple blankets, being the only thing visible of the slowly awaking girl.
Beep! Beep! Be- a hand shot out from under the covers and
slammed down on the alarm clock breaking it instantly.
“Stupid alarm, looks like I’ll have to buy another one.” Slurred the seventeen year old as she slowly rose into a sitting position.
That lazy brunette just so happened to be me. Ten minutes? “That’s impossible,” I muttered to no one in particular. I finally decided to take a look at my half dead alarm clock, and there it was, 7:45 all bright and shiny. Crap! I over slept again!
My name is Alicia McKay; I have long dark brown hair that goes down to my mid-back, which I then threw into a messy pony-tail. I also have bright blue eyes, I examined them as brushed away the small strands of hair that were to short to fit in my pony tail. I brushed them to the side were they belonged. After I got my side bang out of the way, I put on myblack mascara and eyeliner witch complemented my bright orbs. There’s one more thing I should mention about myself. I’m not human. I’m part wolf. I don‘t really know how it happened, I’ve been like this for as long as I can remember. I guess the technical name for use is Werewolf. Yes, we do morph into wolves like in the old horror films. But it’s not like we go around attacking people or anything like that.
I ran downstairs, finally ready after running around my room like a monkey on steroids. When I walked in the kitchen, thinking I would see my sister having a spaz-attack screaming that she was going to be late.God was I wrong. Instead I see my twin Raven McKay sitting there in all of her short black haired glory eating a stinking bagel, and she gave off a vibe that said“everything is right In the world.”I looked at the clock and it said the apparently correct time of 7:32. I could just feel myself burning with rage at my fraternal twin. How dare she make me run around my room looking like a complete idiot! Her deep chocolate eyes were closed so I took this chance to sneak up behind her and…
“!!!” I screamed in her ear. I forgot to mention it earlier but we are both part wolf and are ears are more… sensitive then most.
“!!!” she screamed, falling out of her chair in the process. *bonus!*
“What the heck was that for Alicia?!? You really scared me. Plus there’s a ringing in my ears now,” she said as she sat there, on the hard, cold, wooden floor of our small two bedroom home, complaining.Let’s just say she’s not the most mature out of the two of us. Raven slowly got up out of her sitting position, while saying “Owie.”
“You rigged my clock didn’t you?” I seethed giving her a fierce glare. It didn’t have the effect I wanted.
“Yup!” she joyfully stated without a care in the world.
“May I ask why?” I asked giving her a cold stare.
“Oh well that’s easy um, I did it so that you weren’t running all over like you normally do on our first day of school. You’ve done it for two years already and so I thought I would change up your routine a little bit this year. After all, we are juniors.”
After considering what she said for about all of two seconds I decided what she said wasn‘t far from the truth. “You’re right, but did I mention that you’re going to be the one who buys me a new alarm clock,” I said smiling
“Okay… wait… that’s not fair why do I have too?!”
“Because you’re the one who… oh never mind. Come on we’ve got fifteen minutes to get to school we should leave.” God, I can tell that this day isn’t going to go as smoothly as I hoped it will.
