"So, we're in the process of dealing with Liz's love problem, now we need to sort out yours Luce!"

"Trudy!" I said exasperated. I know, I love romance but my Romeo is yet to make his appearance- contrary to popular opinion. "I told you already, all your arguments are flawed! And he said that he didn't want to talk to me! So for heaven's sake- and my sanity- drop it!" I'd already had enough of a bad love life; the last thing I wanted was another boy to make me feel bad about myself.

"No Liz, no denial, just the truth."

"What's the difference between you telling the truth and my so called denial?"

"The difference is that you have no evidence to say that he likes me and I have lots of evidence on the contrary. On the other hand, we have all the evidence that we need to say that Jamie likes you and your just denying it!"

We sat down on a bench in the playground and watched the younger kids play tag with one another.

"But Luce, he does like you!" Trudy burst out earnestly,

"I see no evidence to suggest that he does."

"Oh come on, he talks to you all the time!"

"He talks to everyone!"

"He's never mean to you," Liz piped up joining in the debate.

I sighed at my friends, of course it would come down to this, they always gave me this argument.

"That, my dear friends, depends on what you see as being mean."

"Urg Luce! Ge does like you! And everyone sees it except you!"

"And him."

"Look, he told me that he didn't like anyone."

"Of course he told you..." Trudy began but I cut her off, not wanting to hear her arguments again.

"And he said that he didn't want to talk to me yesterday, go on explain that one away!" I prided myself in that one, knowing that they would have no explanation to that. Well for two hours at least- but they were two hours of peace that I was greatly looking forward to. Or so I thought.

"Yeah but he could have just been busy,"

"Uh huh, I don't think so. If he liked me he would have made time to talk to me. So prove that he does."

"Well, who started the conversation?"

I rolled my eyes "I did but..."

"Well there you go; he obviously just had some homework to do or something like that."

"Yeah and a myth is a female moth." I retorted

I heard the bell signalling in the end of break and got up with a feeling of gratitude. As I did Liz said:

"Operation DTLL is now officially open!"
