Chapter 4 : What The Hell?!

Samael was now happier than he had been for a long time. It seemed his kiss with Fumiko had boosted his melancholic mood. He was walking down and around the corner, just like before, he collided with another young girl. He felt a sense of dvu. His hand shot out with inhuman speed and grabbed her arm before she fell. Also to his surprise, the girl was Fumiko.
"Didn't I just leave you home twenty minutes ago? I didn't think I would see you so soon."
"It's a small world," she replied.
"What's wrong? You seem tense."
"Parents. Seriously, I was getting the whole bloody Spanish Inquisition in there. I had to leave before I had aneurysm."
Samael laughed, and Fumiko smiled. She was starting to feel safe around him. He then realised he was still holding on to her. He slowly let go of her. Fumiko also realised something. She was still wondering why he kissed her. She worked up the courage, and decided to ask him.
"Samael, can I ask you a question?"
"Sure, fire away honey."
"Why did you you kiss me earlier?"
Samael pondered this for a few minutes and then answered. "I kissed you because...okay well I don't actually have an answer for that. Anyway, what would you like to do then?"
Fumiko was surprised. Samael justed asked her if she wanted to do something with him. They'd be together, and alone.
"I really don't mind. You choose," she said.
"Okay then, let's go." He reached for her hand, as he had done earlier, and she let him pull her along to goodness knows where.

"Can I open my eyes yet?" Fumiko asked.
They had been walking through the city for quite a while, a place where Fumiko had never been, then suddenly Samael told her he had a better idea of where to go.
"Nope, not yet,"he told her. "But we'll be there in five minutes."
"You could be leading me anywhere, and I wouldn't know the place."
Samael laughed. "That's true, but you needn't worry. You're absolutly safe with me."
She had had her eyes closed for twenty minutes and Samael was guiding her, his hands on her waist. Finally he stopped, and placed his hands quickly over her eyes before she opened them.
"Ready?" he asked.
Fumiko nodded, and his hands dropped. She took in her surroundings, and she gasped. It was beautiful. They were standing in a large meadow, and it was filled with the most beautiful flowers Fumiko had ever seen. Red, black and white roses were among them too. Samael bent down, and picked a white one. He handed it to Fumiko.
"For you, mademoiselle," he said, as she smiled.
"Thank you. Thank you for everything," she replied, and hugged him.
Samael took her hand and said,"Let's walk and talk."

They had strolled for over an hour, stopping every so often while Fumiko picked flowers. Samael had asked her lots of questions, and Fumiko had answered honestly to every one of them. They then decided to rest. They were now sitting under a tree talking.
"Okay tell me, what is your favourite flower?" Samael quizzed her.
"Well I have never actually seen one, but my mother described it to me. So I would have to say a magnolia," she answered.
"Yes I've seen them a few times. Pretty little flowers too." Samael clicked his fingers, and in the blink of an eye, a pinkish flower started to bloom. Samael picked it up and handed it to Fumiko. "This is a magnolia."
"How did you do that?"
"Did you forget? I am demon, and magical powers come with the job."
Fumiko laughed. "I guess I did forget. I mean you're not like the other demons, who think it's funny to mess things after I clean them, or tease me about my biological parents. You like me for what I am, and don't think that I should change how I am.
"Who teases you?"
"Timorie, Amabelle, Minerva, to name a few."
"Timorie is not so bad once you get to know him. Yes I can understand your point, he is obnoxious and all that, but he has a great sense of humour."
Samael pulled himself up, and then hauled Fumiko up.
"Climb on my back," he told her.
gBy then Samael had already put her on his back. She locked her arms around his neck, and her legs around his waist. He then started to run. He started to laugh because her grip tightened.
"I'm not going to let go of you Fumiko. Calm down, we're not even going that fast. I'm not a miracle runner."
She relaxed a bit after that and then started to enjoy herself. He spun round in circles.
"Can you put me down now?" she laughed. "I'm getting dizzy."
He gently set her down on the grass, and lay beside her.

Suddenly Samael stiffened, and then sat up looking into the distance, like he just saw something that Fumiko couldn't. She sat up, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
Samael got up again, pulling Fumiko as well. He pointed into the distance. Fumiko looked closely and could see outlines of moving things.
"What are they?"
Samael didn't answer at first. Then he said, "Looks like Lilith found out about us, and our little affair."
Fumiko was confused. She was about to say something, but Samael spoke again.
"I want you to run when I tell you to okay?"
She nodded. Samael took her hand and they started to run. The things were getting closer. Samael then let go of her hand and shouted, "Run!"
Fumiko kept running, not knowing what was going to happen. She turned to look at Samael. He was just standing there waiting for the shadows to come. When they approached him, Samael whispered, "Reverto ut vestri vinco."
They vanished into thin air, but then something even worse replaced them. They were rabid black dogs with the lust for blood, and Fumiko was now their prey.
