“Becks, get up! College starts in half an hour,” I whispered harshly shaking the lump that was snoring on the couch.
“It’s a Saturday,” Replied the grouchy voice.
“Are you still drunk?” I asked un-surprised.
“Maybe a little bit. Sleep now,” Becks mumbled before shoving his face into the pillow.
“It’s Monday morning you idiot! Now wake the fuck up!” I yelled before pulling the covers off him.
Which I completely regretted as soon as I pulled the covers fully off. Becks had decided to sleep naked last night. I threw the covers back on him as quick as I could and rushed out into the
kitchen. You wasn’t supposed to look at your best friend naked, no matter if it was an accident. I think I’m scarred for life, I’ll never get that image out of my head. I grabbed the biggest bowl I
could find out the top cupboard, filled it to the brim with freezing cold water and stalked back into the living area as quiet as I could.
Sure enough Becks was back to snoring, I put my hand in the cold water and stood over Becks, I needed the right aim to flick it in his face. Once I knew where to aim, I put my hands back in the
bowl and flicked them all over Becks’s face. At first he didn’t seem to know what it was, but when we looked up and seen me with a big bowl of water in my hand, his eyes grew wide.
“Eb’s, put the bowl down,” Becks said before quickly sitting up, still staring wide-eyed.
“Are you going to promise me you’ll be ready in ten minutes,” I mumbled, fake-glaring at him.
“I’ll go as quickly as I can,” Becks replied wrapping the covers around him.
“That’s not what I asked.”
I made a motion that I was counting down and then I’d throw the water over Becks, I wouldn’t because its not just my couch, it’s my roommates couch as well, but Becks wasn’t smart enough to realise
“I’ll be ready in ten minutes! I promise!” Becks squealed as I counted to ‘three’.
I smiled, placed the bowl back in the kitchen and bounced up stairs to collect my bag. Becks was the only guy I’ve ever fully trusted, I could talk to him about anything and even though he’s not
the smartest guy in the world, he understands, knows when not to laugh and when to laugh.
I’ve never had a boyfriend, I’ve never had a father figure, I’ve lived with my aunt since I was 5 and she’s a lesbian so I don’t have to worry about a ‘new‘ uncle coming along.
Ten minutes passed, I was sat on the kitchen counter with my bag by my side and glaring at the clock, hoping it would go slower. College was only a 15 minute walk, but it was still quite a while
when you walked with slow-ass Becks.
Becks jumped down each stair carefully with his rucksack hung over one shoulder, I motioned for us to leave for college with a head nod, usually Becks nodded back but this time he shook his
“Breakfast,” Becks said throwing an orange at me.
“I’m not hungry,” I mumbled.
“You’re never hungry, it’s called a disease and I will watch you eat that on the way to college and I’m in your first lesson so I can see whether you’re use the bathroom excuse or you’ll actually
keep what you ate, down.”
My eyes turned to slits at Becks but all he could seem to do was beam a charming smile. I nodded out of defeat and we both left to walk to college.
Becks wasn’t exactly ugly, far from it actually. He had beautiful chocolate brown hair with shimmering blue eyes, his skin was sun-kissed and he had many muscles all over his body. And his smile
was to die for, if you hadn’t grown up with him, you’d have thought he would be the perfect boyfriend. But no, more like a brother.
“I hate you sometimes,” I whispered as I pealed the orange.
“I’m saving your life here, you’re literally skin and bones,” Becks replied as he waved to 2 of my roommates walking on the other side of the road.
“I’m fat Becks. I need to lose weight, eating’s just a waste of time, I can live without food,” I said trying to sound convincing.
Becks chuckled, ran his hand throw his beautiful chocolate locks and then shook his head.
“You’re such a liar.”
