Chapter 2

the Headmaster and more Peculiar Things

“Hmm, you did well; normally people would vomit their first time round!” My Aunt applauded me, humor spreading across her face, as she remembered a past event. I stared in disbelieve, as my Aunt rummaged through her pockets and pulled out a stick. She started to make a large circle on the cliff and muttered what seemed to be incantations of protection, while flourishing the stick, which she held in her left hand “Repello Muggletum…” I watched, as a wall of visible blue rose and formed four sides, making a building. I started to question my Aunt, but she stopped me and continued on for at least five minutes. “There,” she stated; pulling back to admire her work.

She came next to me and plopped upon a piece of earth, spreading her body and crossing her arms under her chin, as if she were a child yet again. Though, she was but thirty-two. “Come; sit next to me, dear.” She stated, patting on a spot next to her with a tanned hand which was from spending hours tending to her garden in the front lawn.

“If I do, will you tell me about what just happened and where in blue blazes is my mom?” I compromised.

“In the meantime, but now you must rest, disapparating is exhausting I can ensure you!” She exclaimed.

“No, thanks, not until you tell me what happened?” I asked again, agitated.

“Ugh, Camellia, please listen!” She begged.

“Perhaps, I can help?” An elderly male’s voice sounded from behind.

“It’s about time, don’t you think Albus? Camellia has been driving me insane!” My Aunt exclaimed, waving her hand that still contained the stick in the air, as if to rid her of a burden.

“Well, she is your niece, Willow.” The gentlemen replied, coolly. I stared at the gentlemen, complementing whether or not to run. He was tall that for sure, he had a crooked noise with bump like he had broken it before, he wore what looked to be a purple nightgown, and his hair which was white as snow was freely roaming about. But, what struck her, as odd about this gentlemen was his nightcap which was tall and purple with black stars. Why, would someone be out and about, dressed like this in midday? Surely, this wasn’t society approved?

My Aunt cleared her throat, removing me out of my stupor. I didn’t realize that she had stood up. “Camellia, this is Professor Dumbledore, he is the headmaster at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hogwarts; is the school, in which you’ll be attending come the fall!” She stated, eyes watching for a reaction that never came.

“What?” Was the single word that I was able to choke, through the reasoning’s behind all these peculiar things that had been happening to me in my fragile mind? “What do you mean witchcraft and wizardry?” I must’ve looked stupid, for I heard someone muffled a laugh. “I’m no magical persons, if that what you’re saying?”

“You must be Camellia, and what we are saying is that you are a witch!” Professor Dumbledore, exclaimed, beaming down at me through his spectacles.

“I am still very confused,” I said.

“And I am afraid that you will be, for now, as your Aunt and myself are not the ones to explain things to you.” Dumbledore replied.

“Explain what things to me?” But, he to ignored me and turned to my Aunt. I observe him handing her a neatly wrapped parcel and letter. “In that packet you’ll find some supplies to last you a month or so, her letter of acceptance and list of things that she’ll need for school.”

“Thank you, sir.” My Aunt replied, handing me the packet, so that she could shake his hand. “I don’t know what we could do without you!”

Dumbledore nodded, turned to me and stated. “It’s been a pleasure to meet you, Camellia; I do hope that I see you very soon.” He gestured his hand to me and I shook it in reply.

“Hum, same here.”
