Fire burning bright around me
unaware, ready to die,
ready to be released
no longer waking to pain
free.
Something, somewhere
who knows where
what brings my mind to life
as the flames eat my world.
Unsteady, nausea, a scream of hopelessness
and into the rain soaked night
alive, laughing sad
at God's cruelty.
I am still here.
