Night had fallen fast over the ship, the young night guard walked slowly among the deck, looking out in to the vast nothing that lay before and behind the ship. Down in the crew’s courtiers, Tom, Shawn and Andrew sat in there small room talking about the day and what they had all done
“So then, we sprung a leak so I had to go down and help try and repair it! Do you know how hard it is to do that?” Andrew complained, tom just look at the wall, he didn’t want to tell them about what had happened between Anne and himself
“So Tom, what did you do today?” Shawn asked
“Oh, um… the same thing I do every day, nothing special”
“Oh, ok. Do you think we have seaweed for brains? Something is wrong! You can tell us” Shawn said, Tom turned and face his friends
“Ok I’ll tell. I did something bad today”
“Like what” Andrew said sarcastically
“I kissed Anne” Shawn and Andrews eyes grew wide with interest” Well, she kissed me but I kissed her back and I shouldn’t have”
“Why not, don’t you love her?” Andrew objected
“Yes I do, but I swore that I would never fall in love again you know this!”
“Tom, you have to let her go, Anne could be the best thing that ever happened to you. You have to let Jennifer go”
“I can’t! She meant so much to me! How can I just betray her like that?”
“You wouldn’t be betraying her at all, she would have wanted you do live you life to the fullest, she would want you to be happy!” Tom thought about it for a minute
“Wait a minute, who is this Jennifer person?” Andrew asked
“Oh that’s right, we never told you about her, Tom she was your fiancyou tell him” Shawn said
“Ok, Jennifer was my fiancbut she died a few years ago. There was a pirate ship just out side of our dock, and they started firing at our town, we tried to get away put a cannon ball hit right in to our house and it killed Jennifer and two other people that we lived with, from that day on I swore that I would never give my heart to anyone else” the room was silent, then Andrew said
“Well, I’m with Shawn I think that you should just say good bye to Jennifer and give your whole heart to Anne”
“It’s not that easy” Tom passed “ I don’t want to talk about it any more, lets just go to bed” Tom turned around and pulled the blankets up over his head and waited for the others to climbed in to there beds. Shawn slept on the bed on top of Tom’s and Andrew slept on the one on the other side of the room. The others quickly fell asleep, but questions were filling Tom’s head, should he let go of Jennifer after all these years? Or should he stay true to her and never love again? It was all so confusing to him, he knew deep, deep down in his heart that he loved Anne but he also knew that he love Jennifer. Tom couldn’t take it any more, he got up, pulled on an old dirt stained shirt and a pair of knickers and his boots and walked out of the room and hallowed the hallway all the way till he came to the stairs that led to the deck, then he fallowed the stairs and was greeted by the cold night’s air. Tom then walked over to the railing and just looked out at the sea.
“Tom? Is that you?” said a voice, Tom turn and there walking toward him was Anne, dressed in a white night gowned, her long black hair blew elegantly in the soft wind that blew across the deck
“Yes, it’s me” Tom answered, Anne walked up to him and leaned over the railing
“Couldn’t get any sleep?” Anne asked noticing the dark circles under tom’s eyes
“No, and what about you, you can’t sleep either”
“No, it’s hard to sleep; I have so much on my mind right now”
“I suppose that a lot of what’s on your mind is because of me?”
“Why would you think that?”
“Well, it’s just what happened today and every thing”
“It doesn’t even madder anymore, I understand”
“You do? Did you talk to Shawn or something?”
“No but I just know, it’s fine, no hard feelings”
“Ok, well then um… I think I’m ready to go to bed now” with that Tom turned around with out saying good bye and walked to the stairs and disappeared in to the darkness. Anne could feel the cold heartless tears swelling up in her eyes again
“I understand. The only thing that I understand is that you don’t love me, and you never have and you never will” Not being able to hold the tears back any longer; Anne turned and ran back in to her room.
“Evel, what do you think about Shawn?” bonnie asked as Evel and her climbed in to there cozy beds.
“I don’t know, he seems like a nice guy, but what do you think about Andrew?” Evel answered
“He’s not my type, but like you said, he seems like a nice guy?
“Ya, but you know, I never thought that I could be in love, it’s all so knew to me. I thought it was going to be the three of use for ever, but know that we are in love, or at least this feels like love, are we going to stay the same or is it all going to change?” the two were silent, that question had been troubling the both of them for sometime now
“I really don’t know, I know that we are all loyal to each other I mean I would take a musket ball for either one of you two but-“ Bonnie said
“I know what you mean, I love you two, you’re my only family but I would kill to have a nice wedding and have a man by my side that will always be there?” Evel said
“Yes that does sound nice” the two laughed,
“But what if Tom and Anne never fall in love, would we be able to leave her?” Evel said
“I don’t’ know, I guess I didn’t think about that” bonnie answered “Listen I’m tired, let’s go to bed we’ll talk more tomorrow”
“Alright, good night” Evel said as she pulled the covers up to her head and fell quickly in to a peaceful sleep, but bonnie couldn’t sleep she had a feeling that what they said had been heard so she got up and walked over to the door and opened it, but no one was there. Being satisfied that no one had heard what they had said; Bonnie went back over to her bed and fell in to a not so peaceful sleep. The one thing is, some one had heard the two talking, and now that person was on her way back to her room. What was she going to do? Were her sisters going to leave her all alone? Was the bond between them braking? So many questions and no one to talk to, what was Anne going to do?
