I can smell the fresh crisp autumn air as it, ever so gently, caresses my face. It faintly makes me think of the ranch I grew up in as a child. It also brings back the painful memories of that fateful day in October, when I found my best friend hanging from the large willow tree in the woods behind his house. I can remember it like it was yesterday.

The weeks prior to his death had been quite eventful, actually. They were full of laughter and joy. Our sophomore year had just begun and we were as excited as ever.

Three first day of school I there on a pair of jeans and an old tshirt, brushed my teeth, and ran out the door, not stopping once to look in the mirror to see what I looked like. As I was walking to my bus stop I see my neighbor running from his house with a huge smile on his face.

\"Well don't you look excited to go back to the hell hole that people call 'school.'\" I chuckled.

\"I'm just happy to get out of the house that's all.\"

He was a tall, well built Japanese boy. His hair was jet black and shaggy all the way around. He had a bad home life, his family is always fighting. His father beat him as a child and that gave him this peculiar scar on the side of his face, he says it looks like a blob, I say it looks like a heart.

\"Timothy! You forgot your lunch!\" We both jumped at his mothers exclamation.

\"I'm going to be late, I'm fine mother!\" He yelled back.

I turned to him, \"Why do you call her mother instead of mom?\"

\"Because,\" he began to explain, \"mothers give birth to their child. A mom loves and nurtures them.\"

After that statement he turned and looked at his feet for a long while. We were at our bus stop now. We lived down an old dirt road with about 3 houses on it, so we had to walk to the end of the street, which wasn't that bad, I liked walking.

When the yellow bus pulled up, Timothy adjusted his hair and got on. He say on the left side towards the front and I plopped down next to him. We started taking about the new episodes of anime coming out soon. We were both die hards for anime.

All of a sudden we heart the voice of Anthony Preciosa, the meanest person in school, \"So fags, are you excited for school? Because I sure am. Say, Tim, how's your Daddy? Have any new scars you wanna show me?\" He continued to go on about Timothy's home life.

\"Hey!\" I butted in, \"what the hell is your problem?!\"

\"Kill yourself, bitch. Stay out of it\"

\"Don't you ever tell her to kill herself.\" Timothy stood up, hands clenched tightly into fists.

\"Oh, looks like the weakling is gonna pick a fight!\" Said Anthony.

\"Sure as hell I am.\"
